Casey's negligence caused us to have an accident!! He installed the floor mat behind the brake and over the gas pedal. The result was that when I tried to move the truck forward in the driveway to allow room for guests, pushing on the brake caused the gas pedal to be pressed as well and the truck would not stop. I ended up driving thru two fences, a shed and halfway around the back yard before I could get it to stop. Total damage to the truck, the fences, the shed and contents = $8,000. I consider myself fortunate that that's all that happened because my 16 year old son has been driving this truck with me to prepare to get his driver's license. If he had been the one behind the wheel on a work day, either or both of us could have been killed, or we could have killed someone else. Casey's only response when I called him was "it's not my fault" even after I texted him the photos of the mat and the damage. When I asked him about insurance - it says on his website "fully licensed and insured" - he said he did not know if he had any insurance. This is false advertising! Additionally, I checked with the State of Florida, and he is not registered with them at all. I feel like this accident was due to his negligence and that he should man up and accept responsibility for his actions.
Even outside of the accident, we were not impressed with the quality of the work. First, I told him that I only wanted him to detail the inside of the truck. He obviously didn't understand and started on the outside. By the time I realized this, it was too late. I asked him to clean the headlights, and he said he didn't have all stuff he needed to do that, and asked to borrow sandpaper to do the job. I was not happy with the final product - you could still see the scratches from the sandpaper. Secondly, he didn't have any Scotch guard with him to finish the upholstery cleaning properly. I felt his prices were too high for the mediocre service provided, even without the accident issue.
I know that Casey's response to this review is going to be that I moved the truck out of the driveway while he was here, and then moved it back into the driveway after he finished. I can't explain why this didn't happen when I backed up or moved the truck forward the first time. All I know is that when I got out of the truck in the middle of my back yard, the mat was behind the brake and over the accelerator. It could not have moved on it's own because these are hard plastic mats that are anchored down. I know I was not pushing the accelerator because I looked down when the truck would not stop and my foot was clearly on the brake. There is no way the mat could have moved by itself, and Casey was the last person to touch the mats.
In summary, he was ill prepared, he didn't listen to what I wanted, and quite frankly anyone with a bottle of Armour All could have done what he did. And probably installed the floor mat correctly to boot! Most expensive car detail ever!
In response to Casey's comments, I would like to point out two things. First, the vehicle was not moved for two days because it was over the weekend and we don't drive that vehicle on the weekends. So it had not been touched since Casey left on Friday until we went to move it down the driveway on Sunday to make room for guests to park. Second, my husband NEVER, EVER drinks. The last he had any alcohol was a champagne toast at our son's wedding two years ago. I am highly offended that Casey would even suggest such a thing. He needs to man up and accept responsibility for this situation instead of coming up with excuses and trying to pass the blame off. He never even apologized or ask if anyone was hurt when we called! read more
