I emailed Barry photos and he emailed right back with suggestions (to not refinish the wood as to keep the original patina) and a quote. We brought in the chair and Toni brought out various samples to choose from. The orignial silk was a teal/blue and she assisted us in finding a beautiful fabric. It's conveniently located in the heart of the Square near Savino's, Ovenbird, and the Spirited Gourmet, my other favorite neighbor businesses. Curate is a bright little shop with a variety of classy and fun gifts, stationary, and home items that change with the seasons. I usually pop in to buy a card and a chat with the owner. I've found gifts for hosts, housewarmings, and occasions in between. I especially like their candle selection, many of which are soy based. They carry amazing scents from a small business in Rhode Island, with candles and lotions that smell exactly like the seashore. After a cousin fell in love with one of them, I bought a bagful at the end of the season clearance to treat relatives to a scent party. They also carry British Christmas crackers when in season (like now!). These are so hard to find! The crackers (beautiful wrapped cylinders that pop open when pulled to reveal little gifts) delighted my family when I brought them to our holiday gatherings last year. (Note that crackers contain a tiny amount of gunpowder and technically can't go on a flight, something I had tried before...!) Curate's products tend towards the classy side with mid to higher prices to match. Sometimes I just go to poke around and see what's new. They have some baby gifts and customized items for Belmont and Watertown, but if you want a wider selection, I would go elsewhere. The owner has also kindly offered to order things that I couldn't find directly in the shop, but I haven't tried that option yet.

I already got the shocks from a friend that works at a dealership in Quincy. When I made the appointment the owner informed me he didn't really want to install other peoples supplies and preferred to supply and install his own equipment, which is fair. He told me he would do it this time only, I said great and if there was anything else that needed to be done just go ahead and do it. He call when the truck was ready, I went and paid my bill not paying much attention to it. (Extra needed work was done) When I got in my truck I noticed my shocks were still in the box not used on the back seat. When I asked about it, he claimed he wasn't there and someone else did the work. He didn't even offer to try and make it right, so much for customer service. I will never go back. He said if he fixed it, he'd have to replace the whole line from the hole to the mufflers, so Lou's was the better option. As much as I like the sound of a nice exhaust, the hole was making my car sound like a cheap Honda Civic. Booking an appointment online was super easy. I showed up earlier than planned because traffic wasn't bad, and they were able to take my car in right away. One of the techs even answered my questions about muffler deletes and inspections in MA without making me feel dumb, which I really appreciated. They patched the holes quickly and now my car sounds nice and quiet again where it matters. I'm still on the fence about doing muffler deletes, but if I decide to go that route, I'll definitely be bringing it back to Lou's.

He listened carefully to my concerns and explained everything in a clear, respectful way, something I truly appreciate. I felt a strong sense of trust that he genuinely cared about my car and my safety. When I arrived at the shop, Paulo was just as professional and kind in person. He made me feel confident in my choice to use to D&G Auto Repair. After I left my car, he followed up via text with an estimated bill before starting any work, which gave me peace of mind and control over the process. The shop itself is small but clearly run by expert technicians, and the waiting room is clean and comfortable, a nice bonus! I returned yesterday with a question about a noise I'd heard. Tony, one of the technicians, came out and personally walked around my car with me. He pointed out how clean it looked and even asked about repairs I had done elsewhere.
