I now have a pizza option that rivals the best of NY, New Haven, and all the rest! Pizza Bouquet is labeled as a hybrid of other styles (NY and New Haven) and they are spot on ... more leaning to the NY version. This is exceptional pizza created by an energetic and passionate staff. I have only been there once, but in that short visit it was obvious that the pizza reflects the people that work there ... creative, fun, unique, and welcoming. They sell several great pies and actually offer both slices and whole pies. I ordered a pepperoni and hot pepper pie but as I sat there I had to get a slice of their upside down pie. While they were both outstanding, I have to say, what I cannot stop thinking about was that upside down slice. That was freaking magical. I would eat it there through because of the complexity and nuances of the actual pizza. Do not let this one sit ... trust me. Overall, this is a destination pizza in my book ,,, welcome to the world of pizza relevance Pizza Bouquet ... you guys do it right. Special shout out to the lovely ladies that danced through the entire preparation of my pie. Loved everything about this place!

New Montreal style pizza…read more Considering I've not heard of or tried "old Montreal style pizza"; just sayin'. The crust, similar to the NYC pie. Thin, gently crisp, some chew and char. Easily foldable. Follow it up with just the right amount of quality ingredients are brought together in just the right proportions with quirky flair. Upside down pizza (cheese first, sauce on top) or stranger still, a double carb potato pizza. Speaking of, the potato pie is so good. All the ingredients from a potato mille feuille with a hit of fresh rosemary and grana padano atop the well made crust. Rich, creamy, nuff said. Equally good the mushroom with its "mushroom cream" (think a thin duxelles) base, rosemary to season and meaty creminis and motz to round it all out. Finally the sopressatta. I mean, come on, who doesn't love a cheese pie made even more complex with goat cheese, honey and grana padano? Sold by the slice or whole 18 inch pie. Inexpensive. Is it better than the NYC pie? No. But it's definitely not as boring either.

Having heard of Van Horne Pizza for many years, I ordered from them for the first time last night…read more Based upon other reviews, I felt that this place needed to be checked off my bucket list. In terms of my yardstick for Greek style thick and juicy crust loaded with tons of cheese, I'm used to B&M which always does a pretty good job. Based upon the reputation and pedigree of this restaurant, I had high expectations. The pizza arrived quickly and upon opening the box, I had a huge smile on my face. It's been a long time since I laid eyes on such a good looking pie. The crust looked thick and doughy, the generous toppings (I ordered a meat lovers with extra pineapple...that's how I roll) were bursting out of a pool of perfectly browned mozzarella. Never has the look of a food been so misleading. The taste of this pizza had virtually no redeeming qualities. BTW....I was STARVING! The cardboard box might have tasted good given my hunger. Unfortunately the cheese was absolutely tasteless. How does one go about sourcing mozzarella made without any salt? Is the even a thing? The toppings also had no taste at all. The pepperoni was completely bland. The pineapples were tart instead of sweet. Finally, the crust was simply ridiculous. They give you the option between thick and thin crust. My definition of thin is near razor thin crispy pizza. There's nothing wrong with that, but I was in the mood for a regular pizza so I selected thick. Big Mistake. This was the thickest and most tasteless crust I've ever tried. Imagine the disappointment of getting through all the tasteless toppings and cheese just to land on crust that is neither salty nor sweet. There is no airiness to the crust. It is simply a solid tasteless mass of wasted opportunity. On Super Bowl Sunday, this pizza broke my heart like Fredo in Godfather II. I got through one slice and tried in vain to start a second before tossing the whole disaster in the garbage in a moment of resignation and dejection. Khalid S.'s review from November 28th 2016 is spot on. I will not be eating here again.

Pizzaiolle Mont Royal is Montreal's best in class Neapolitan style pizza. Yes this happens to be my favorite style, so I'm full of anticipation. The dining space itself could not have been more impressive. A massive outdoor patio straight out of a garden magazine, and a beautiful rustic interior full of modern features. The entire property is picturesque! As far as the pizza, at Pizzaiolle the dough is everything. Sure the ingredients are fresh and plentiful, but somehow they do feel a little subtle in flavor. But I cannot understate how good this crust is. This pillowy dough is simply unbelievable. And totally unexpected? The ceaser salad with anchovies might be the best I've ever had. Maybe next time I'll get anchovies on the pizza ! When you have been in business since 1981, you must be doing something right. Pizzaiolle is a staple in Montreal, and rightfully so.
