Late review, but definitely a good one ! I looked them up online and ordered, picked up my gun the very next day in shop. Kurt and I forgot the other man's name, were so nice to let me fire a few rounds and go over the gun, loading and maintenance, as well as projectiles and how and when to use each type. The banshee personal alarm I ordered wasn't in stock but was expected in the next day. Kurt had one of his people deliver it to me at home. I feel much more confident to protect my family now. I recommend the Byrna to anyone in search of home protection for themselves and family members. I've demonstrated the gun with friends and family and highly recommend you go to see Kurt to make your purchase. They always have supplies in stock and can provide training and product knowledge, videos, pamphlets and more to you. Check them out, I'm so happy to have found them. read more

GUNS. A rather hot topic regarding owning and carrying one these days. Personally, I am 100% in favor of gun ownership and carrying for self defense BY LAW ABIDING CITIZENS. I wish we didn't live in a world where the reality is that you need to defend or remain defenseless, but here we are. If we can have armed men outside our banks protecting money, celebrities, or politicians- then might I suggest that the life of every other good person or child is just as valuable as they are? Why are those things or their lives more important than yours and mine? Besides, bad people with guns hurt and kill. Good people with guns defend and protect. Simple logic. *shrug* Are you prepared to defend you or your loved ones -or even strangers for that matter- in the event of an assault, robbery, home invasion, or attempted kidnapping? Let's be real, crime is through the roof in our Hawai'i nei. Ask a police officer how many serious crimes were committed within the last 7 days. The answer will shock you, and it's only getting worse. All you can do is be prepared. That's where Byrna comes in! Byrna is a non/less-lethal gun that requires no background check, no permit and no excuse to fuss from anti-gunners. You have several projectile options that would most definitely have the ability to incapacitate a perpetrator without the permanent consequences a regular firearm could cause (i.e.: death, etc). Main point, you would have time to get away or detain the perpetrator until police arrive. There is nothing controversial about wanting to protect you, your loved ones, your home or your belongings, and anyone who tries to convince you otherwise probably wants what you have... like the government. #notsorry As a mother of three young (and super cute) hapa babies, I've known for a while that we needed a gun... or two. Human trafficking - (especially child sex trafficking) is a huge problem that I don't want my kids to ever fall victims of. Having myself been a victim of pedophilia from age 3 to 16, I know that you simply cannot trust everyone you think you can. Byrnas are simple to operate so even kupuna can use it. It is closer to a bb or paint gun in that it is technically a launcher using Co2 cartridges as its firing mechanism. There are three projectiles to choose from but my go-to would be the "pepper spray bullet". Upon impact, anyone and anything within 6 to 10 feet will be affected by it as well so just keep that in mind. The CO2 cartridges can last up to 4 hours once pierced but you'll need to replace it after before storing or in between practicing. There are many attachments and add-ons depending on your needs or wants. Byrna is the compromise between the laws of this state against concealed carry in every place that it would be needed and protecting yourself in ANY situation at ANY time you need to. The price you pay for one or two or three (like me) is nowhere near the price you would pay if you couldn't defend yourself. Kurt will take care of you. Just BE *that* person... the one who is ready. read more

With people getting assaulted, young people targeting the elderly and the police Chief is not allowing concealed carry firearms in Hawaii, I had to get my wife some kinda protection. I went down to talk to owner of Live Safe Hawaii Kurt Tsuneyoshi who sells Byrna non lethal firearms. After showing me how this firearm works, I had to get one for my wife. I'll feel safer when she gets off from work walking to her car or if she's at the mall. This firearm is non lethal but it will stop someone in their tracks and give her the time to escape. Believe me, you will not want to be hit by one of these projectiles. Don't take my word for it but go down to Live Safe Hawaii and talk to Kurt then decide for yourself if this is for you. Oh and tell him you seen it on my Yelp! Stay safe and keep your family safe!! read more

Located on Young Street between Keeaumoku and Kalakaua, you will see a Byrna flag and an A frame sign letting you know you are at the right place. Pull into the parking lot and you will see the Byrna Hawaii banners. Through the privacy tinted glass doors you are greeted by local friendly faces Kurt and Kawehi. Together they are the owners of Live Safe Hawaii. Hawaii's Official Byrna Dealer. After being greeted, they ask you how you're doing and they actually care about how your answer is not like other retail stores. This business is owned local and when you're there, you feel it. Next they ask if you have any questions about the Byrna product. They are incredibly knowledgeable of their product and can answer you on all different platforms of information. Byrna is the latest in less lethal self defense and I've seen people try and trip them up asking a question like up the Joules and FPS and without missing a beat they have the answer right there. I believe in the Byrna product and I enjoy stopping by the store to catch up with Kurt and Kawehi, they really treat you like old friends from the moment you walk in the store. Needless to say, it is always an experience at the Byrna Hawaii Store! I'd like to end with I was a Taser guy. I loved my taser and took it everywhere I went. I am now a Byrna guy and EDC the Byrna now. If you're on the fence, go Byrna. 1. Effective range of a taser is 15 feet(provided both prongs make contact), effective range of the Byrna is 60 feet(you have at least 5 tries). 2. Practicing with a Taser is way more costly than the Byrna (you can reuse your kinetic rounds from Byrna). 3. Warranty, as you practice with your self defense device, wear and tear are bound to happen. If anything goes wrong with your Byrna, if you purchased if from them, as long as you filled out your warranty card, they are able to warranty it there, no sending it back and forth to the mainland and being without protection. Let's not forget, "bad guys" will always find a way to carry a knife or a device they can use as a weapon, or even gang up on you. Byrna, creates a level platform even for Kupunas. I am grateful to Kurt and Kawehi for bringing this product to Hawaii as Byrna/Amazon will NOT ship to Hawaii. Mahalo Kurt and Kawehi, I look forward to my next experience at your store! read more

Byrna Hawaii - The TCR - tactical compact rifle, such an easy self defense non lethal device to use! - Safety Equipment Near Me - Honolulu, Hawaii

So much is going on in the world that you need to protect yourself and your property. Non-Lethal is the way to go personally. The minute you shoot someone with a real gun, you are now in a law suit on if it was warranted and justified. Even if the person tried rob you or come onto your property, you now have to hire an attorney and pay all this money. The non-lethal byrna gun will put a "Sting" or a bruise while allow you time to get alway or get the cops to come. Real simple to use and no recoil which is what I was worried about. Check out the new location to get more information read more

Bryna Hawaii was featured on the news about the non-lethal Byrna Launcher they sell that can be used as self-defense for protection. No permit is required and it's TSA approved where it can be packed in your luggage but not in your carry-on bags. They sell the standard "Byrna Kit" for $439.99 that comes in a nice carrying case. There's another launcher that's called "Byrna SD Pro" for $499.00. They also have one that looks like a rifle (not sure of the name) for $899.99 with $100 off. Things to know: - There are 5 launcher colors to choose from. - It can shoot up to 60 feet. - Kit comes with 2 magazines. You can load up to 5 kinetic projectiles (ammunition) in a magazine and you can shoot up to 15 kinetic projectiles with one CO2 BUT once you pull the trigger and the CO2 is punctured, the CO2 is good for maybe up to another 6 hours. - They carry a lot of different accessories from lasers, larger magazine, variety of kinetic projectiles for different uses, etc. - A plastic tube with 5 kinetic projectiles that's filled with pepper spray is in your kit BUT you can purchase only "one" plastic tube with 5 kinetic projectiles that's filled with pepper spray AND tear gas a day. When you shoot these, it will affect the perpetrator a radius of 6 feet so stay far away so it doesn't affect you. - Amazon carries this brand but cannot ship to Hawaii. - They're the only Byrna dealer in Hawaii so you need to go there to replenish your supplies. The owners Kurt and Kawehi Tsuneyoshi were very nice. Kurt helped us decide which one to get. We ended up buying 3 kits...one for me and my husband and the other 2 for my kids. They're located on Young Street off Keeaumoku Street going East bound right after you pass the backside of the Hale Pawa'a building. They have lots of FREE parking outside of their store on the first floor...very convenient! read more

I have purchased three of these units for family members (2 LD/1SD). Now I'm saving money to buy me one. These are cool items and undoubtedly effective. The SD comes in many flashy colors while the LD comes in black or orange. Oahu is getting crazy. Criminals are allowed to roam free without any public notice. It is sad. You can pick up this un-gun immediately. With the new real gun laws it will take a minimum of 40 days to acquire a firearm. Plus with a real gun there are other repercussions when pulling the trigger. The new requirements are for law abiding citizens. Why should we be penalized? Forgot that noise. The solution is BYRNA. I encourage you to stop by the shop to check out the toys. The owner, Kurt, is friendly and service orientated. Go and pay him a visit, and bring the wallet with a credit card because you will most likely pick up a launcher. Don't forget the extras like the Max projectiles. Check them out - NOW. read more

I was looking for the 6th star, but they only go up to 5! I recently purchased two additions to my self-defense portfolio from "The Safety Store" in Hawaii. Kurt and Parrish, both experts in their field, have helped immensely to educate me on the vast selection of "less-lethal" options for self defense. It's my understanding that Kurt was the first Byrna dealer to introduce less-lethal self defense products to Hawaii. I recently discovered that "The Safety Store", owned by Kurt, has added two additional product brands, Pepperball and Axon Taser, to its inventory. As such, in addition to my many Byrna launchers, I also purchased two Pepperball launchers and several "Blast Sticks" for my family and me and plan to take their Axon Taser safety certification course. It's great to have a one-stop shop for all of your safety needs. (They sell many other products than what I've mentioned here.) Having worked in high security environments much of my career, I can attest to the importance of having multiple options for personal security, and The Safety Store offers just that. I would HIGHLY recommend stopping in and talking to Kurt or Parrish at their store located at 1773 S. King St. in Honolulu for your family and your peace of mind! You'll thank me later...Don't be a victim! read more

Kurt & Kawehi were knowledgeable, friendly, informative, and down right awesome. A must place to check out, actually see kurt demonstrate and talk about Byrna products. With all the violence and crimes escalating on Oahu, this will surely give you the protection that you'll need if you cross path with these people. You never know nowadays, not like how it was before, it's getting worse. It's better than a real gun I feel. Protect yourselves and your loved ones too. Great for our senior citizens. Visited the store after my uncle saw the owner on the news. When we got there they were very informative on what we needed to know about the Byrna, how to operate it safely and the accessories offered. Byrna Hawaii - Bryna LE - Safety Equipment Near Me - Honolulu, Hawaii

The owner I think "Kurt" was very helpful. I was hesitant because getting a real firearm is an option if approved by hpd but with all the risk and even potential insurance behind carrying a real gun, I feel that Kurt answered all my questions regarding my concerns. The coolest thing about the marker is that it will not puncture the Co2 until you pull the trigger which puts its way ahead of any similar design up til now. That means you can carry it ready to go, unlike other air markers. I also shot the pepper ball and tear gas/ pepper balls within six feet at a hard target and I was coughing for hours lol so it is definitely potent. read more

When I first heard about Byrna and their non-lethal devices, I was interested in getting one but also a little intimidated because I didn't know what to expect as I have no prior experience with guns or any sort of similar devices for that matter. However, when I first arrived at Live Safe Hawaii (aka Byrna Hawaii), Kurt and Kawehi greeted me with nothing but smiles and a warm welcoming. Kurt welcomed me to the store and asked if I had any questions and also what I knew about Byrna. I apologized and told him that I didn't know much but I wanted to learn more and he was very helpful and more than knowledgeable about Byrna and their products. He explained everything about the product and its accessories so well that it made me feel really comfortable and confident when I walked out of there with my very first Byrna. Unfortunately, we no longer live in a safe world, but I do feel a little bit safer knowing that I always have my Byrna with me. So thank you to Kurt, Kawehi, and the rest of the Byrna Hawaii crew, for keeping Hawaii and its residents safer one Byrna at a time! read more

Kurt, the owner of Live Safe Hawaii doesn't try to sell you whatever he has in his store. He educates you and you make the right decision to protect & defend yourself & your loved ones. He helps you to be prepared. It's unfortunate that we live in such a precarious time. A time where we have the need to defend ourselves just going about our daily routines & business. Even in such a beautiful place like Hawaii, some people have the mindset to hurt & take from other unsuspecting residents. The first thing we need to do is to protect ourselves & loved ones. And sometimes it takes a device to stop someone from hurting us in public or in our own homes. Whether you're a tough guy, a woman w young children, or elderly, every bullet fired from a gun, even in self defense, will be answered in court. I do not wish this for anyone. Non-lethal could be a strong alternative to a bullet. Thank you Kurt for the chats we had. Thank you for your passion in helping Hawaii be a safer place to live. Mahalo! read more
