I have leaf filter on my home and I am a retired Roofing Contractor. I'm not sure who installed these leaf filter gutters but regardless, if it's buyers or another company, these are my highly recommended gutters for all homes as they work as they market them. DO NOT HIRE THEM FOR ANYTHING!!!! The absolute worst exchange and worst quality work I have ever had from a professional builder. I hired them to fix a leak that required one piece of flashing installed. They damaged and badly split all the custom cedar siding along the entire run. Every board had multiple vertical splits 6"-18" long leaving gouges and gaps up to an inch wide. It was all destroyed. Silicone was slopped on to try to cover the damage which made it look even worse. When I called to report the damage the manager, Jeff Fierstein, was very rude, unapologetic and refused to take responsibility. I asked him to come to the house to look at the damage. He did, but tried to convince me the damage was preexisting, when that didn't work he angled that I had agreed to have Byers do the work knowing they would seriously damage my house which was completely untrue and manipulative. He said whatever he could to shift blame on me for the damage, refused to compensate me for the damage and left without any solution. Now Im left with a really terrible, ugly, messy, flashing install that is not water tight and needs to be redone AND I have to replace ALL the siding they ruined!!!! Plus I had to deal with the offensive, dehumanizing, stressfull treatment from Byers. read more

A stellar company... After the storms, our roof suffered some wind and water damage, was an older roof that had some rotten spots, and needed a major overhaul. Basically an entire new roof. I interviewed 6 companies for the job and Byers seemed the best option and BOY am I glad I chose them. EVERY step of the way the communication was proactive, courteous and response times were fast. I initially scheduled a consult with Beyers at the Sacramento Home Show early in 2024 because I saw they had solar tubes and at the time I had a very dark hallway that I needed lit, preferably without turning on a light, especially at night and I was informed they had ones with solar night lights built in. But like most businesses now, you ask for consult on a secondary item for them and they send someone out to try to sell you on the primary item first. I really didn't think I needed to replace my gutters at the time, that was a down the road project. I have to say I am very happy they sent someone out for the gutters. I live in a usually dry area of California where most of our rain usually comes between October and April. Whenever he came out, we hadn't has any rain in at least a couple weeks and the only way any water should have still been in my gutters was from the person who cleans my solar panels, but that hadn't happened for a couple months. So again there should have been no water and definitely not plant life in my gutters. The sales man took the time to video his inspection and showed me that not only were my gutters installed in the fastest and cheapest way possible with no slope at all, but that I had, water, algae, moss, and at least one weed that would have been easily noticeable in another week or so if it had been left. The fact that from the video where he addressed me by name and showed my neighborhood so I knew there was no doubt this was my house, convinced me that I needed to move up my timeline on my gutter replacement. In the end the cost was better than I thought, they replaced all the gutters, downspouts (with bigger downspouts), added a downspout where one was needed, and installed a solar tube for less than I was expecting to pay. And to get back to my main reason for even approaching them, the solar tube is fantastic and very helpful, especially at night. The built in solar night light lights up just enough that it doesn't wake you up but enough that we can see my 2 black dogs against the dark flooring in the house, when we couldn't before. Again very happy with Beyers and I would highly recommend them to anybody. read more

Call ahead and don't expect them to know you are the center of the universe. They will give you the next available appointment and be ON TIME, FRIENDLY, PROFESSIONAL and COMPETENT. Regarding WASPS.. Yes, Wasps will be somewhere on your property. Personally I would rather have them in the gutter where I can spray them easily rather than under the lawn chairs or in the umbrella's. We had Byers install a 16-panel solar system with 3ea 5kW batteries. They walked us through their quote and provided an organized binder of installation, operation, and engineering notes. They handled permits, dealt with PG&E, and efficiently installed as specified, meeting schedule as planned. The installed batteries and combiner in our garage are professionally done and when I checked the attic wiring I was surprised how clean they ran everything (no wires dangling or lying about, unlike our whole house backup generator installation 3 years ago). There were configuration issues with the Enphase Combiner which ended up taking a week of troubleshooting, but Byers worked through it with Enphase and the system has been performing flawlessly for 3 months now: a painless, turnkey installation. The system meets our needs exactly as engineered and PG&E runs at minimum cost ($11/month) in the triple-digit summer heat with AC units running upstairs and downstairs. Make sure you have newer, energy efficient AC units. The Enphase app with 4.7 kW peak power generation and 15 kW battery to smooth the load let us utilize power with nary a drop to the evil PG&E. This time I met Ray Byers, Jr just as nice as Sr. Through this experience I would recommend you work with whomever you choose for your project and make sure you understand what to expect when the roof comes off and how to plan for it. I would also have wanted to be aware that they contract out the roofing job unlike gutters they do with their team. It would have been better if Byers sent their own people who are all really great. I'm very happy with the end product, a beautiful roof, new gutters and everything up to current codes for fire hardening. I've had 23 years of great gutter care with Byers and I have no reason to think if there are any new problems or concerns they will make it right. That's why in the end result I know they will take care of me and the next owner of the house, unlike many other roofing companies. Complete junk. Paid $10,000 for $4,000 worth of gutters in hopes to never have to clean oak leaves again. (We have lots of oak trees) the down spouts looked as cheesy as can be assembled in multiple parts instead of one nice mandrel bent unit. They did come out and try to make this better. However, we were promised you won't hear the dribbling of water in the down spouts.... Nope! Then in the inside corners they said the amount of water would over run the normal design, so they installed a cheesy screen which still cannot handle the flow. I've got a waterfall right outside my bedroom deck door.... What are gutters even for?? I would never ever recommended anyone pay absurd amounts of money for this gimmicky system. Installers we're sloppy too and I had to pick up tons of screws from my gravel driveway so we wouldn't get flat tires, thanks guys! read more

I'm very remiss in writing this review for Byers, as they replaced our home gutter system one year ago. Our home is in Arnold, CA surrounding by tall pine and cedar trees near 4,300' elevation in the Sierras. Having clogged gutters from all of the pine needles was a constant problem, and after 20+ years they just rusted out. It was time to do something. I was interested in a leaf protection gutter system and heard good things about Byers. I also did quite a lot of checking around, including talking with neighbors who worked with Byers in the past. They noted it wasn't cheap, but they were extremely pleased overall. I gave Byers a call to get things started on a complete gutter replacement for our A-frame style chalet home. Wow, this company is SO impressive from start to finish. In a world where customer service seems to be a thing of the past, Byers simply blew me away with how organized and professional they are. Yes, this is a sizable investment, but their work and materials are both top-notch and so worth it. They kept me fully and completely informed every single step of the way. They set up a time for an onsite inspection and estimate right away at a time that was convenient. Professional and courteous on the phone. Their proposal was thoroughly professional and complete in every way, leaving nothing ambiguous about what we were going to do or when. We had a thorough conversation regarding the various choices involved, and they provided great diagrams describing their recommended approach for difficult aspects of the project. Their paperwork process and signing was simple and convenient using email and online document signing. The online deposit and payment process was equally simple. They came out for the installation exactly when they said they would, and I got a confirming call in advance saying exactly what they were going to do and went over final details for the install. I was getting the siding restained and fascia boards painted at the same time, and they coordinated the removal of the old gutters and the new installation with the painters. They took careful consideration re where to place the downspouts in order to not damage our 2nd story siding, and in consideration of the lot's drainage slope. The gutters and downspouts arrive already painted/coated and will (hopefully - time will tell) never require painting. They left the job site spotless, and provided pictures before and after. They guarantee to clean your gutters and downspouts for free should they ever clog in the future. Seems to me, they have the financial wherewithal as a company to stand by that guarantee for many years to come. Aesthetically, the gutters and downspouts look really great and of high quality. Their installation was perfect. Definitely adds to the value of the home. All in all, I just couldn't be happier. Their customer service was fantastic. And best of all, the gutters continue to work great and remain unclogged despite all of the pine needles and winter rain! Met Byers at the Vacaville Home Show and hired them to install a skylight/solar tube in our small bathroom. They communicated well, showed up on time, were friendly and polite and very professional! The job was tricky due to a shallow roof angle and no real crawl space to work with but that proved no problem for these guys. Before you know it the job was done. Price was reasonable, too. We just had our new LeafGuard gutters installed by the Byers team. The guys (Trevor and Reuben) did a fantastic job. They showed the utmost professionalism and took pride in their work. I was very happy with their installation and the performance of the gutters after the first rain storm yesterday. Mike, who provided the initial estimate was a good guy too, and he was a pleasure to deal with. Keep in mind, however, that the LeafGuard system is not cheap. I'd wager that it is 2-2.5X the price of traditional gutters. But you really do get what you pay for. The gutters were definitely premium gutters and beefy. They look great too and come with a lifetime transferable warranty, and a no clog guarantee to boot. They will come out and clean them if needed for the life of your house! Byers has been around a long time so I'm pretty confident they will be around for the future if needed. I purchased the gutters through Costco, which gives you a decent discount through a cash card 4-6 weeks after install. The discount was about 12% off the quoted price for me (your mileage may vary?) If you pay for the gutters using your Costco Amex and have the Exec membership, you'll get a bonus 2% back from Costco along with the 1% back from Amex! Anyways, if you are looking for something very high quality and willing to pay up for it, go to Costco and set up an appointment. read more

Consumers shopping for gutter leaf guard systems- BEWARE of Byers. Their deposit is not refundable. My husband and I entertained salesman Dave for over an hour in our home to get a gutter leaf guard quote. We were quite serious about installing this system. At the end of the hour, Dave, who I will ad, uses some hard sales pressuring tactics, got us to sign up for a system. He stated the company requires a $1000 deposit. At no time did Dave state the deposit was NON-REFUNDABLE, so we signed up and used a credit card to pay the deposit. We figured, what can we lose? If we decide not to do it, we'll get our deposit back and move on. Coincidentally, we filed our taxes and happened to owe a lot more than we planned this year, so we didn't have $18,000 cash to pay for a leaf guard. We applied for the financing offered through Byers. Guess what? They denied us financing because of our debt (currently have some major expenditures on credit). Since they denied our financing, my husband said forget it, and called the company to cancel the install. The lady in Byers accounting dept. said we "need to call and speak to Dave to cancel." So last week, my husband called high pressure Dave (after speaking to accounting). Dave again was very pushy. He said, "What if I could get you financing through another company?" My husband said no, we've decided we simply can't afford this right now. A week goes by, still no $1000 refund. So my husband calls Byers again today (March 5, 2024). This time, he was given to a man to speak to. The man said, "Well, we can't refund your money. It's non-refundable." My husband said Why? The man said, "We have 'costs' " My husband asked what costs? The man could not articulate costs other than a lead test performed on our current gutters. My husband said we will gladly pay for the lead test, which does not cost $1000. The man said "I'll have to get back to you." This was this morning (3/5/24) before 10 am. Still no call back. That's 3 calls to cancel and get our deposit back, all a dead end, no deposit, and giving us the run-around. We ended up calling Chase bank who our credit card is through and making a fraud claim for this company, who fraudulently took our $1000 and won't refund it. Finally, please know that we were provided a sales receipt BY EMAIL after we paid our deposit. We cannot find anywhere on the sales receipt that our deposit is not refundable, but I would say any company who puts that info on a receipt that's given after you pay is a SCAM artist. And any company who takes $1000 from you because you cancel the job well before the start date is a unethical and not a reputable business. I will conclude by saying: Dave, and Byers- you are unethical and immoral. Any person and/or business who operates by not disclosing that deposits are not refundable is a scam artist. If you need money that bad, you are not a good business and you're having trouble getting business. read more

I've been a homeowner for the last 7 years...the last 3 years, I have gone to the fair, spoken with the people of "Whole House Fans" given them my info and never ever received a call....and then I stumbled upon Byer's LeafGuard. I submitted my info and was given a call to schedule my appointment literally the next business day received a call to get scheduled. Daniel was my installer, they were running a super awesome special...a quiet housefan for $1399.00 but since I saw them at the fair, and if I booked the same day, they would take $100.00 off the price. I was already sold. When Daniel came out, he went into my itty bitty attic and informed me that we weren't able to proceed..my rafters were 14.5 inches apart and they needed 16 inches for the SolarTube plenum box. TOTAL BUMMER. I thanked Daniel for his time and he left...and just a few minutes later, he called me back and asked if he could come back to take some more pictures and said that they might have a "way" to get this done without cutting my rafters. I worked with this company for a few weeks while they adjusted the size of the plenum. I think Daniel came out 2 or 3 times before he actually installed the unit. Total install took about 90 minutes and this is legit one of my favorite home improvements that I have done. The level of customer service I received was off the charts. Scott would call me weekly and let me know where we were progress wise. I did not have to put down a deposit or pay anything extra for them to come back out. Daniel was beyond professional. When Brian came to our house to look at the gutters and give us an estimate he was great - very friendly, professional and helpful. We had new gutters installed on the front of our house. They also repaired our old gutters in the back. Chris and Seth came today at 0700 and were done by 1143. They explained what they were going to do, did a great job on the gutters and answered all my questions. We could not be happier with Byers. I saw a commercial last week that said Byers does roofing. Needing a new roof I called and left a message. They called the next day to schedule an appointment. After I scheduled I responded to several email to ensure I would be home(I made it clear I work from home and I'm available anytime). Estimator came by Tuesday as promised, took measurements, then said he would crunch numbers and then be in contact with me. Received an email yesterday asking ME to schedule time to go over the estimate. I responded telling them to send me the estimate, I've already scheduled time for that. Now nothing. I sense high pressure sales, no need for me to schedule time to review estimates, I review contracts for a living. Just send the customer the estimate that was requested! Last year I priced gutter cleaning and decided I would check new gutters as well. Byers came and prior to discussing options the agent inspected existing gutters. Straight off he showed me a cell phone photo of a small hand level on my gutter edge and a bubble which was not level. I was told that the not level gutter was sloping away from the downspout which resulted in pooling and deteriorated metal of the gutter. After a strong pressure sales pitch, I signed a contract knowing I had 72 hour cancellation. After salesman left all happy that I signed, I took a my 3 foot long level to the gutter and found it was already level. The photo used by the agent was underhandedly deceptive. I immediately canceled the contract with Byers due to this practice. read more

We put a deposit down in good faith thinking we would be able to pull money out of a refi. What money we did get had to go toward roof repair due to leaks. Didn't get enough for the gutters. I asked for a refund and was surprised that Jeff said no they will be hanging onto it due to expenses. Wow! That's really something for a large company. I would think they would be doing better and not need to hang onto peoples money for no services. Yes I should have read contract more closely. 3 days to know if I could get the money. I don't know about you but Refi's take longer than 3 days! I should have called sooner but honestly didn't think this company would just keep my money. PLEASE BE AWARE!!! The are beautiful! but have serious defect. Wasps love them. For the last two years since having the gutters installed I am constantly spraying wasp spray on them. Unfortunately due to the design there is no way to actually spray the nest, so you only kill a few at a time. I called the company was told that they were aware but couldn't help me. they don't want to get their employees stung. Triple the price of normal gutters and now I am an unlimited pet supply of wasps. read more

My experience with Byers was perfect - start to finish!  First, in searching for "solar light tubes", Sola Tube popped right up and entering my zip code took me straight to your firm. I was familiar with the Byers name from "Byers Leaf Guard" commercials, but would have never known that they provided solar tubes. The easy information request resulted in being contacted the next business day by Judy who was very pleasant and was able to get me an appointment for the following week.  She told me that this would be a consultation followed by an installation, if desired - one and done. I didn't bother searching any further or price compare, but was pleasantly surprised with the quoted cost. Jordan Nunes from Byers called the morning of my consultation to let me know he was on his way and might be a little early, if that was alright. When he arrived, I was extremely impressed with Jordan's knowledge of the product, analysis of the potential install and explanation of the options available to me. He took time to truly understand what I was wanting to accomplish and to determine my needs by asking many appropriate questions.  On top of that he was very personable, respectful and at no time did I feel that I was being pressured. Jordan guided me through to what we both thought would be the best solution for my cave-like office area.  He also showed great patience with my rattling on about all sorts of things, since he was one of the few human beings I have seen in Covid times. Which, by the way, he was also very respectful of my safety. Once we agreed on what would be the best and most aesthetic solution for the area, Jordan was very thorough in the assessment of my home's construction and difficulty of the installation in my desired location.  This proved to be a challenging install in what I believe he called a "true" vaulted ceiling - a few inches between ceiling and roof and millimeters to work with between joists.  But Jordan carefully considered the undertaking and, although it was not going to be easy, decided it was doable...barely. I trusted his knowledge and ability and in a relatively short time, Jordan completed the job with stunning results.  thought I would be just getting a hole in the ceiling that the light would shine through!  Instead I have an architectural element that makes a huge difference in the hours spent working at my desk in natural light!  Thank you Byers!  You can expect referrals!
