This is the most upscale and newest of the Byblos restaurants. For quite awhile after they opened in Elmwood I was really happy with the food and service here. They were doing a lot of unique things here and the food really was quite a step up from the other Byblos locations to the degree that there was zero resemblance. I really enjoyed everything I ate here and while it was more expensive than the other Byblos locations it was of better quality. Unfortunately something has changed as the quality seems to have dropped, the menu has changed and service has really deteriorated. They have a pizza type oven like Shaya and Saba have and they were putting out a similar type bread to those establishments but on my last visit I just got generic pita bread. The experience used to rate a higher price but now things have really declined and the juice is no longer worth the squeeze. I hope my last visit was just an anomaly but I've heard from multiple people that the standard has dropped and the generic pita is the new usual. This was a four star joint and one of the top Middle Eastern joints in the area but sadly that no longer seems to be the case. read more

I usually love the restaurant. However, the waiter was horrible this time! The hostess sat us in the corner in a tiny table and chairs. I could not see much of the ambiance. I was not comfortable with the seating. The waiter dashed in and out to ask if everything was alright and hardly got a chance to answer. He did not refill our empty drinks until my boyfriend had to almost yell at him to do so. My Brussels sprouts were brought out cold. I asked him to bring me hot brussel sprouts and he brought them back burnt which I did not eat! Was that supposed to be funny!? All I can say after that experience, I am never going back! read more

This charming place in an outdoor mall area seems like it is going to be fast casual, but is actually a charming sit down restaurant. The wait staff was very helpful with suggestions and took time to make sure we had what we needed. We ordered falafel for an appetizer and it has just the right texture. The food was great and service was great. I came here after already been to Byblos market on Veterans. The food is amazing all of the flavors are on point and serving size too. The only thing I felt it was a little more expensive at this location. But that is probably because this place is more of a date night or more upscale look. Its vibey music is nice and you can sit outside too. The service was pretty fast and portions seem to be large enough and filling. I took my baby here to eat lunch with me. I brought her food and fed her while I ate Byblos. The food was amazing. Truly some of the best hummus I've had in the area. The chicken was so tender, it almost melts in your mouth. The cauliflower was divine. I like that they have a pretty outdoor seating area, though it was too hot to sit out at the time. The service was average. Nothing special; and the waitress barely even glanced at my adorable baby who was waving at her. I was a Byblos regular at their Uptown New Orleans location, for many years, until I moved. It was 1 of favorite places to eat. I loved the Lamb entree and pita plate with the olive oil dip. This location is close to where I live now and its been over 10 years since I've been back in a Byblos. It is located within a large shopping plaza, like a small neighborhood with blocks and streets. Once we sat down. It took awhile to get our service rolling. I'd say we waited about 10 mins before anyone came to our table. It wasn't very busy, maybe 4 tables already seated. Once we got our initial order in, drinks and the Feta cheese fingers. Not sure why they called them fingers, they clearly looked like egg rolls. We aren't sure whether we liked them or not. It seemed like an odd array of ingredients. We got our complimentary pita with the olive oil dip. Very bland. Had to add some salt to it for flavor. Our entrees: she got the chicken shwarma wraps with cauliflower and Brussels sprouts. The vegetables she liked. She was really liking the wrap. She has had wraps before and this wasn't her bag of tea. I got the lamb entree. Cooked medium, with hummus and rice pilaf. It must of been a really long time since I last had this entree. It didn't look like I remembered. The rice pilaf was just white jasmine rice? The Lamb itself looked like it was flamed to a crisp. I did like the hummus. I'd say overall, the meal was subpar. Wanted to have a nice lunch after dropping my son off to family so decided to try this place as the location caught my eye. They have lots of options on the menu to choose from which is great. The Feta Cheese Fingers were a great choice for an appetizer, the pepper jelly set off all the cheese flavors. When I go to a new restaurant, my goal is to get dishes that I can't make myself or I've never had before anywhere else and this was one of those dishes/appetizers that I'm glad I chose. For an entree, I decided on the $24 Mediterranean pasta which was fresh and flavorful and A LOT of food. I took my leftovers home and felt like I had two meals! The artichoke in it was a good idea. Our server was very pleasant and attentive. Food came out at a reasonable time. The serving sizes were nice and filling. We loved that the pitas arrived hot and puffed up. We got the classic hummus which was also really good. The beef kabob and beef shawarma were okay. We did note that the french fries were heavily salted but it is to our preference so I really liked it. If you aren't a fan of that, I think you should mention it to your server. We absolutely loved dining here! The atmosphere is upscale casual, and there is a lot of natural light, which I find refreshing. Saturday lunch with husband. The spanakopita app was very nice; large portion and appealing to the eye. Husband had the combo kebab with beef and chicken, french fries and fattoush salad. Not a bad item on the plate. Loved that he finally had a fattoush salad. :) My Kafta plate with lamb, hummus and rice pilaf was SO good. Huge portions on both entrees, so there were leftovers. Plus, we had to leave room for dessert. Dessert was an Ashta. If you've never had one, you HAVE to try it. This is a really good option for Mediterranean food in the area. The food was very tasty, authentic and well portioned. They make the flat bread in house, which is delicious. We had the Mediterranean humus for appetizer and was very flavorful. The bread pudding is out of this world, the baklava was for just OK, maybe because it was served cold. The house old fashion and Sangria were very well made. They have really good specials on drinks for example Tequila Tuesday is $6 margaritas, and on Thursday all drinks are $5 (martinis, old fashioned, cosmopolitan, etc) The place seats big and small parties, and has a patio. To start, the menu is different than the other locations which is a good thing. The fried Brussels Sprouts for an appetizer is delicious. I absolutely love Mediterranean food so I was really excited to give Byblos a try. I'm not in this area often, but when my mom and her friend said they wanted to go out to eat I knew just the spot to suggest. The menu has lots of good options; it was tough to choose what I wanted because everything sounded good. I decided on the lamb hummus and the combo chicken and beef shawarma plate. They were out of the lamb hummus (so I take that to mean it's delicious), so that was a little disappointing. I ended up swapping the beef for gyro because I had a taste for lamb. The entrees come with two sides and I got the rice pilaf and Brussels sprouts. The chicken was fantastic, it was tender, juicy, and well seasoned. The Brussels--delicious; slightly crisp and I loved the buttermilk garlic sauce. The gyro was tasty, but a little on the dryer side for my liking, but it wasn't an issue at all once I got a little tzatziki. The only thing that wasn't my jam was the rice. It was perfectly fluffy and tender, but it was rather bland to me. A manager or owner (maybe both) was walking around checking on patrons and he happened to ask us how everything was. I said "pretty good" and he inquired further, I told him the rice wasn't my favorite and he graciously swapped it for some hummus. I much preferred the hummus and I was very grateful, because it was HUNGRY. We came in about 5:30 and it was decently busy. We caught the tail end of happy hour, so I assume that's why the peeps were out--the drink specials are awesome! Their house cocktails were $6 and they were a highlight of the visit. The spicy margarita was well balanced and the flower cosmopolitan was a perfect drink for a summer day. Not too flowery, but just right. It was a bit smaller inside than I anticipated, but there's a large bar with ample seating and a nice sized patio. My first time at this restaurant and I must say the experience was incredible! Our server Matt was so dope! The service from everyone was a amazing honestly. The bath room was clean the restaurant was clean. I can go on and on. The food was a amazing. We started off with some cocktails, happy hour is 3-6 M-F but they also have Tequila Tuesday, Wine Wednesday, and Thirsty Thursday. For my cocktail of choice I had a lemon drop and my cousin had the French 75 we just kept them coming honestly. My entree I had the beef kabobs, rice pilaf, and hummus with pita. The steak was delicious, well seasoned but it was over cooked I prefer my steak medium, however it was still pretty good. The rice pilaf and hummus were perfect sides to go with the kabobs both delicious. For dessert I had the brownie, it was served warm with ice cream on top, again, delicious ! I had a strange customer service experience here, coupled with food that was grilled too long and had a bitter char taste and tough consistency, which is the reason for the 3 stars. My mother in law, husband and I came in around 8:00 on a Friday night. We walked in and no one was at the host stand. Someone then came and asked us to wait. Then someone else came up and they went back and forth about where to seat us (mind you, the restaurant was less than 1/2 full). Then a waitress came up and they asked her if we could go in her section. She sighed and put her head down and said oh I guess so but I just need a minute. All with us standing right there in front of them. Very strange. And it didn't make us feel particularly welcome. The hummus was okay, the lebna was delicious. The pita was delicious but they gave us 2 pieces at a time. My mother in law got the salad with grilled shrimp and liked it. I got the kufta kabob which was grilled too much so it was tough and the taste was unpleasant. My husband got the gyro and it was really good. When we were done we waited for our waitress to come back. The table next to us was also waiting for her to bring their check. After probably 15 minutes I went to the host stand and asked them if someone could locate her. All in all, the food was okay but the service had some issues. read more

I loved the crispness of the Brussel sprouts but I was not a fan of the garlic buttermilk sauce on top. They also tasted greasy.
