Robert is always so kind and helpful with food recommendations! The food here is delicious! During lent I get the vegetarian platter but normally I get the gyro plate with hummus and rice pilaf. I also like getting their falafel and spanakopita appetizers! I've eaten in person and gotten takeout. When dining in I've had their yummy baklava and special iced tea! Stumbled upon this place for lunch today. Enjoyed everything we ate. Salads were delicious and fresh. The wraps we had were well seasoned. The halloumi cheese appetizer was divine and the dessert which was an eggless custard (warmed) in a phyllo crust drizzled with syrup and crushed pistachio. They hosted a rehearsal dinner for my best friend, and from start to finish the experience was seamless. I worked closely with the staff to coordinate the setup and logistics, and they treated us like family the entire time. Communication was easy, details were handled thoughtfully, and the night ran smoothly without us ever having to worry about a thing. The food was incredible (as always), the service was warm and attentive, and the space was set up perfectly for a large group. It truly felt like they cared just as much about the event as we did. So... I will say I wasn't expecting much going off the restaurant name, but my friends raved about the food here, so I gave it a chance and my expectations were well exceeded! My favorite is certainly the gyro platter with the sauteed veggies. Meal felt very healthy, tasted fresh, and was portioned for two or more people, so very good value. I visited here for the first time and I was pleasantly surprised! I started off with the hummus and more. It was really delicious. I could not stop eating it! I loved the whole roasted garlic cloves!! Yum! Then I got the beef shawarma. There was so much flavor and the beef was nice and tender. I also had the falafel and sautéed veggies as my two sides. It was really delicious! There was a lot so I had to take the rest home and it was just as good the next day! My wife discovered Hummus & More when her office relocated around the corner and between the two of us, we've sampled about 80% of the menu, tip of the hat for the Cheese Eggrolls as an appetizer. Our food has always been quickly delivered to our table and always with a smile. One thing I appreciate is that I never have to ask about my drink being refilled. It is tucked away in the back corner of a strip mall but don't let that concern you, it's is quiet and quaint inside good for family gatherings or a date night. Please, do not stop and think some off the wall Mediterranean or other type of food. Yeah, there are some special dishes here but I will stand on my soap box and tell you that the lamb kabob is absolutely incredible! My wife and I get our haircut down the street and Milan (wonderful place) and then come here for dinner every five weeks like clockwork. The chicken shawarma is one of the most delicious meals I have ever had, but the lamb is cooked perfectly. Every visit the food had been consistently good and you do not find consistency in too many restaurants these days. Personally, I have it with the mixed green salad and could probably eat here 3 or 4 days a week if I was closer. Do not think, do not wonder, give this place a try, have one of these two dishes and I think you will find a new restaurant!! read more

They are tucked away in a tiny strip mall off of Severn. They share a very small parking lot with Sweet Handcraft and 3 other places, so parking is limited. We came at an off time on Saturday for a late lunch. We managed to get a parking spot, but it was tight. We had a group of 3 in our party and were told to pick wherever we would like to sit. They have 2 large rooms. I'm not sure what was in the other room, but our room had a large TV in the corner that was showing the news. Service was friendly and attentive. My boyfriend and I ordered combination plates and our friend ordered a Salmon Filet plate. The waitress asked if I'd like Feta Cheese on my Fattoush Salad. I figured it came with it and she was just confirming that I wanted it, as she did with the others in my party. I said sure. I didn't know until we got the bill later that they charge you an extra 0.75 to have that. I thought that was kind of rude that the waitress did not mention it was an upcharge. Our friend's Salmon was excellent. My Kafta Kebabs were ok, but I did not care for the Beef ones at all. They were too chewy and under-cooked. My boyfriend got the Fish Kebab and Beef Kebab. The Fish was Mahi Mahi. It was very good. I would order that for sure. If I went back, I would ask them to put my salad and Hummus on separate plates. I did not like how they loaded the Hummus, salad and kebabs all onto one plate. It was like a big glob of mish mash that I had to pick through. The prices are on the higher side. My boyfriend and I paid separately from our friend, and just for our 2 combination plates we paid $60.00. Mind you, that was strictly the 2 combination lunch plates, tax and tip. Full disclosure - I have been to Hummus and more multiple times and that alone should tell you how much I enjoy this place! I have tried other beef shawarmas around the area and this place by far has the best! The meat is seasoned with some crazy blend that is an explosion of flavor!! I can't comment too much on the gyro - I'm not a huge gyro fan. The hummus is good - very smooth with a hint of garlic (to me). The Greek salad is my 2nd favorite off the menu. The dressing is nice and tangy and full of flavor. Pre-COVID I would dine in and the staff was amazing! Post-COVID, I saw almost all staff wearing masks. I did spot someone in the kitchen without one. I would rate the food at a 5 but seeing a staff member without a mask costs a star. read more

I was in Metairie, when a craving for shawarma hit, so I stopped in here for lunch. First of all, be aware that the parking lot is a tight fit and construction in the area is a mess. I was seated right away and decided to start off with the "Hummus and more" hummus, which came loaded with garlic, and all kinds of other goodies. It was fantastic! My entree was beef shawarma with more hummus and rice. The meat was tender and the food was good. My one complaint is service was slow, even though there was really no one there. Ordered takeout and wow I was stunned. I ordered the chicken kabobs with hummus and a cheese egg roll with their fig jam sauce. I have never tasted any Mediterranean food like this before. The kabobs were perfectly tender, not too charred, and flavored amazing. The fig jam sauce came in clutch when I made a little sandwich out of the pita, veggies, chicken, and hummus. It was a combination I never expected to make, but I want to go back so bad! Choice of salads: Cesar, Green or Pine Nuts. I had pine nuts but it was basically romaine like a faux cesar--nuts instead of cheese and watery, not cesar dressing. They really let you map out your own dish with a vast selection of side dishes. You can go healthy or decadent and still have a stellar meal. I couldn't decide what I wanted so I had the vegetarian plate-a sampling of four dishes including salad, lentils, and eggplant. However, one star deducted for below average service. The restaurant is located right off of Severn Ave., around the corner from the Lakeside mall. It is a small, quant little place that feels very homely. It is a great place for a small get together. The place's tables were nicely spaced out so you felt far enough apart from other diners for Covid-19 to not be an issue. I am not a big fan of Greek food but it was delicious. The lamb had the perfect char to it and the hummus tasted superb. Their menu had many options to choose from and it was nice and easily labeled so experimenting was easy. The chef cook the food for me very well so I assume you would get something similar since I went during the lunch rush. The decorations were nice upon the eyes and it had a very comfortable setting. The location of the restaurant felt hidden but it had plenty of parking and it was next to an ice cream / yogurt shop. I would highly recommend it.
