    Chicken shawarma plate
    Mina H.

Byblos is FANTASTIC. It's cheap, it's absolutely delicious, and the portions are large! This is perfect if you want Mediterranean food, but don't have an arm and a leg to sell that day. When you walk in, you'll notice it's both a spacious store and casual eatery. There's plenty of tables and seating to dine in, but it's a "no frills" kind of place, with no waitresses or waiters. They'll call you up, and you bring your food to the table yourself. Honestly, I prefer it this way. Another thing you might notice is that this place is CLEAN. The floors are clean, the shelves are organized, the hot foods area is immaculate, I saw zero bugs, the tables are neat, etc. A lot of casual eateries look a little messy, but this place seems to have great hygiene. I'm telling you, you have to try the food. It's PHENOMENAL the quality you get with this price. You cannot get such cheap delicious Mediterranean food anywhere else in this city. So many places are delicious, but expensive. Not here! It's so yummy and affordable with great portions. We've tried a good amount of items and I would recommend the: *Chicken shawarma or kabob plate - The chicken is perfectly seasoned, tender, juicy, and smoky. The rice is flavorful and fluffy. Both the hummus and tzatziki sauce are delicious. The salad is fresh and comes with a yummy light dressing that contains purple-ish spices I can't seem to identify, but love anyway. *Stuffed grape leaves - They offer both beef and vegetarian ones here, so options for everyone! I've tried both, but I personally like the vegetarian ones better, and although I don't know what's in them, I can attest that they're amazing. They're addicting, and you'd be temped to over eat way too much if you dine in. Aside from these items, they have a lot of dishes to offer as well as daily specials, I recommend just going in and checking them out. I promise you won't be disappointed.

I like Byblos. I usually go alone and sit at the bar. The bar is pretty stocked and service is very quick. Today I was hungry and didn't want to drink. I only had sparkling water with lemon (euro style). I ordered the bacon wrapped shrimp appetizer, chicken shawarma plate w/ hummus and sauteed vegetables. While I was eating the complimentary pita bread and olive oil, the bartender told me about the sauces the chef makes. He brought me a little of the chili seasoning sauce. I enjoyed it with my shrimp, in my hummus and mixed into the sauteed vegetables. It was really good. Byblos is a nice casual spot with a full bar and outdoor seating.

This is a tasty spot with good prices! We started off with the Falafel, Meat Grape Leaves and Drunken Halloumi. All of them were delicious. For our entrée we split the Shawarma plate with hummus and tabbouleh. The meat was really tender. The hummus could have been a little more flavorful but it was still good! They have good service and plenty of parking (at least on a Wednesday night!)

Byblos is a local chain with a couple of different outlets throughout the city serving mediterranean food. we normally go to byblos market standard order is the gyro sandwich which is the gyro sandwich served with salad and hummus (or baba ganoush). we normally get this because the meat is really good, tender, and apparently some of the best tasting gyro in the city. they have other food including a lot of sides so well each time we try something a little different. this time we tried the meat pie which was also told was really good and better than other places. we have tried other sides which weren't as good (the spinach pie - too greasy) but overall each food has been decent with good flavors and decent portion size

This is the same food you can get at the Byblos restaurants for a cheaper price and larger portions. Some of the food certainly gets up to four stars but on average it is about a three star place. It is also a market that has all sorts of interesting middle eastern grocery items that you can't really find anywhere else in the area. It is like a cafeteria style dining arrangement where you order your food or you can choose things from the hot plates. Most of the things I've gotten from the hot plates haven't been as good as in the restaurant so I usually go for one of the plate specials and those are almost always good. The stuffed lamb plate was one special that I didn't care for as it was just lamb mixed with a bunch of rice and I missed my salad and hummus that comes with most of the other plate specials. You get a lot of food here so it is a great value and an easy place for a quick lunch. It is also right next to the Black & Gold store so you can grab some Saints gear and get ready for the game before or after lunch!!! Byblos video review: https://youtu.be/QUQbhgE0NRs

    DRY AF AND BURNT!!!

Ordered from here via Uber eats. Food arrived and it was CHARRED!!! The chicken is so thin and dry and charred. I couldn't eat it. It's like they have me what's been sitting there over night. I had to throw it in the trash. Only one piece of pita too. DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!!

Best Mediterranean restaurant that I've ever had in my life this place will bring back your taste buds if you're having a problem tasting any other food and they're so friendly over there they make you fell like family , what an awesome experience the first time I came to check Them out and has been the same since the last hundred times I've been since the first, best Mediterranean restaurant in Louisiana authentic and real and real people who I love so much thank you Byblos!!!!

Order taken quickly at the counter: gyro wrap w/side of yellow rice, an order of Dolmas (8) and a soda. With tax & tip $34.88. Sat at a booth type table for comfort, only to discover we had to tip toe around the messy floor and I kicked away a ball of something rather than squish it. Husband said wrap was tasty but didn't remember they use a wrap instead of a pita for the gyro sandwich. (I had the gyro on our last visit.) Rice was good. My dolmas, however, were gross. I don't dip them in tzatziki, I typically like the taste. However, today the rice inside them was very, very gooey, as if they sat over the holiday. I ate 2.5 and threw the rest out. Someone came out to ask how things were but apparently didn't notice they were standing on rice. I didn't say anything about the dolmas, because by this time they were in the trash. Took home the remaining portion of the gyro, rice & tzatziki. Asked for a to go box, then asked again for lids for the sauce. Both times I interrupted someone playing on their phone, and the rest of the staff was hanging out talking behind the counter. Really wished they had taken the time to check the dining area.

We had a great experience and already have it on the list of go-tos when we are back in the city, as we return fairly often. First off, that bread. My gosh, I could have just sat for an hour and eaten it alone. I love that it just keeps coming too - we never once had to ask for more; by the time we were finishing up the pieces there, another set was delivered. Heaven. We had not one bad thing. The ikra was the surprise of the salatims/dips - so good - and the muhammara was excellent as well. That fried chicken hummus was perfect - so creamy and a bit of a different texture than most other hummus, but it worked. We tried the lamb kebabs and crispy halloumi - both of which were solid; however, when they say small plates, they mean small. I thought the serving sizes were a bit tiny. Nonetheless, we were full before even making it to the larger dinner plates and settled on the chocolate tart and knafeh cheesecake for dessert; honestly, I could have done without both. They weren't bad, but they weren't very flavorful to me. Definitely a 5-star, but if it wanted to be a 10-star, I would say a bit larger portions, better desserts, and more friendly service (he did his job but didn't really seem like he wanted to be there). Go now!
