When a giant cruise ship is not parked out front, it probably has a great view of the river.

The bartenders are skilled and even happy to educate you on the nuances of the drink you've ordered. Are they expensive? Of course, but you get what you pay for in this instance. Perfect spot for a date or just a regular Wednesday evening with a friend. You really can't beat it. The lounges are available for a fee, but grabbing a spot on the rail is perfect as that really is the best view. I haven't had any of the food/tapas, but as I'm a big fan of craft cocktails, this is one bright shining star on my list!

Then go to Eleven on a Thursday night after work - you'll fit right in. Want to sit in a booth? Too bad, they're all "reserved". There's nobody in them, of course, but how else would you know how lacking in elitism you are by being forced to perch on a much-less-glamorous stool? Enjoy trendy, tasty cocktails? Cool! Eleven serve a limited smattering of "predictable" cocktails at upmarket prices, with "local pub quality" garnishes and presentation. Think a $17.00 "dark and stormy" as one of their highlighted menu features, and you'll understand. There's also bar food but good luck beating away the middle aged socialites lingering at the bar to chat so as to order some! Oh and you can forget eating it from your perch on the stool! That's for plebs and people who don't own high street brands, like Tommy and Ralph. Ugh!

Most of the seating is alfresco (wear layers), and on outdoor lounges. It's a great place to grab a drink and snack before the movies. There was no dinner menu, which seemed a bit bizarre. There was a breakfast and lunch menu, but there were only shared plates on offer from 3pm onward. We got a broad selection of food and the portions were more generous than we anticipated, so keep in mind it is great for groups. We shared the warm olives (good), the truffle arancini balls (decent), the grilled halloumi (yum), sweet potato fries (yum), and the trio sliders (not recommended). The sliders were super disappointing, all super dry. If we hadn't ordered those we would have needed another shared plate to compensate. All the food coming out of the kitchen looked good, I wish we had tried the prawns instead. There were a lot of comments on GOOGLE about poor service, but we thought it was good service with a friendly staff and the food was sent out super quick. I'd like to think we would go back, but not for dinner. Most likely drinks on the patio and maybe some small bites.

I had the cheese burger with fries, instead of the good old fashion tomato sauce , it was served with a relish sauce with a slight hit of chilli , its quite nice and had tasted nothing like that before. They also had large variety of wood beer on tap as well as bottles , cocktails for the ladies as well. Very nice decor as well Quite a pleasant place to sit a have a few, with friends after work.

It's a semi-fancy-ish bar & restaurant and only offers a wide range of drinks (of course), but also has some delicious food you must try. The menu lends itself to sharing with small & large plates on offer, but if you're feeling hungry, you can have it all for yourself. Small share plates range from $8- $22, & large share plates range from $22-$42. We highly recommend trying the Pork & beef ragu pappardelle ($24), and the pan fried house gnocchi with guanciale, lemon sage & truffled peccorino. These two dishes were so heavenly. The pork & beef ragu was so tender & full of flavour, & the Pappardelle pasta was amazing. The gnocchi was cooked perfectly;light & fluffy like clouds. The pecorino & guanciale gave the right amount of saltiness, & the beautiful addition of the lemon sage was devine! Yum, yum, yum! We also ordered a side of the sweet potato wedges with taragon aioli. This is a MUST! So tasty! Service at the time was a little mixed, but it was only their first night, & it improved as the night wore on. We love what they've done with the place, especially the Frank & Mimi mural, & some old pinball machines near the bar. We unfortunately were way too full to fit in dessert, so we will definitely be back!

It's such a beautiful space, from the 7.5m brass bar, custom glazed porcelain lights, back lit shelves, & a charcuterie cabinet at the end of the bar (which will form the basis for a very simple menu in the coming weeks). Maker's menu has a strong focus on Australian wines, beer, and spirits; with the sophisticated cocktail menu an adventurous interplay of flavours, like nothing you'll find anywhere else in Brisbane.Prepared with flair, artistry, & unique techniques, having a cocktail at Maker is a feast for the senses. Try the "Whisky Wax Coffee", a combination of Whisky, coffee, beeswax, pollen, macadmia ($22), and watch how it's prepared. Served in artisan glassware with sphere ice-cubes, & some of the famous black garlic bread from Gauge. We also tried the Starward (Australian) whisky as well as another cocktail not on the menu. It's one of the main benefits of being in such a small bar, that one can have meaningful conversations with the bartender, request a cocktail based on your particular flavours, adding to the overall bespoke experience. Maker has arrived, and it is a game changer.
