It's been a couple of years…read moresince I last had dinner here and while it has a number of things in it's favour, 1) It's clean, neat and tidy and 2) It's pretty family friendly (Kids 'play' room, plenty of parking) I've definitely had better food, I've had worse but I've had better. The staff are attentive enough and when we had dinner they worked well considering that there were a number of other 'larger' groups eating and ordering at the same time. There are a lot of options on the menu, however, as pointed out by a previous review considering the options there are only 2 vegetarian options and no Gluten Free options. After heading up to the counter to order your meal and waiting for it to be served (not too long a wait) we all tucked into what appeared to be a delicious meal. I ordered the chicken parma. While the plate had a tasty salad and chips and the chicken schnitzel was cooked fine it was bland. I don't usually add salt and pepper but this really needed it. The ham used was shredded generic pizza ham and the tomato sauce came from a bottle and was also probably pizza sauce. Fine for a pub meal but had Much Much better from other pubs.

Cons The quality of the rest rooms is quite disappointing with minimal maintenance and funding provided. The tables, while wiped over by the staff, remain sticky and not pleasant to touch. There is an incredibly long wait to get food, with an approximate hour wait for this meal in question. Despite the good tasting food, when ordering a medium steak (as recommended on the menu), upon receiving the steak it was beyond well done which was disappointing.

They have a great lunch menu - daily $12 lunch specials from Monday to Thursday, and the other a la carte options are just as great. Full wine list, and great beers and ciders on tap. Food is always great here. Staff are really friendly and helpful, and provide great service. Love the fact that they let you split bills - always good when you have a large work group at lunch.

Because I'm here at lunch I'm deciding on a their burger that comes with thick cut chips and a special beef patty with secret spices. When it comes out, I need to recheck the menu and confirm that the kitchen has forgotten the bacon in my burger. I send it back and its returned in a couple of minutes with extra chips. The burger isn't too bad but there is something about the special spices that make it something I most likely will be ordering again.

My decision making process and gourmet options went down the drain as I decided I couldn't go past such a bargain. It was very enjoyable sitting, enjoying my food as the wind howled outside and the clouds threatened to pour down. Bravo has a great range of beer on tap and some wild cocktail concoctions I have never seen before, so maybe I'm a little naïve in my opinion of it being a more controlled environment. Still, I feel it's a place to sling back a few beers, have a chat with mates, and either push on to a wilder destination or call it a night. Either way, it makes for a pretty good pit stop you can just wander in to along Brunswick Street.

I have been many times for either a casual lunch out on the deck over looking Moreton Bay, a family alfresco dinner in the Bistro, for a quick coffee or for a few drinks with friends in the Coast Bar, enjoying a live band. Prices are reasonable, their is plenty of spaced out seating and their is a relaxing ambience. Hogan's has built up into a local establishment over the last 40 years or so and has undergone a massive refurbishment. I really like the recent additions of weekly entertainment on Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday nights. Local boys from the Sunday Wash Up now lead the Wednesday Wash Up, with fantastic local Brisbane bands.

The lunchtime Coast Bar food is dead cheap and tasty at around $7 (this is also available on the Wednesday and Thursday jam nights at this price, and that's cool too!). The restaurant's more expensive, mostly in the 20's, but the food sounds mouth wateringly delicious.
