I had The Star beef burger. Wife had the trio of sliders. Kids had Pizzas. The beef burger was excellent. Juicy, juicy patty and plenty of bacon. Bun was a little bit over toasted for me, but still edible. The chips that accompanied this dish were crispy and well-seasoned. The wife's sliders suffered from over-toasting as well. She wasn't all that impressed with the sliders, and suggested to me that perhaps Briosh buns would have fared better for these little bites. That aside, the three burgers had quite different tastes to them and were served with crisp, well-seasoned chips. The Kids had BBQ based pizzas: one ham and one chicken. I had to swap some chips out for a few slices of Pizza from my son, who managed to finish up one of these monsters. The chicken pizza was the winner over the ham. And unfortunately the bases were overcooked again. I reckon the grill/toaster was cranked up a bit high the day we visited. I passed on the feedback to the manager, who graciously accepted the feedback. It's early days for this outlet so I'll be back to try some more items out.

This little authentic Italian restaurant/pizzeria is hidden away in the suburbs of Zillmere. Who…read morewould have thought Zillmere would have such great pizza? The restaurant is owned and operated by Carlo Sica, and by reading the framed news articles adoring his walls, he's been making pizza for years! They have an extensive menu including traditional and gourmet pizzas, pastas, meat and chicken main dishes, soups, salad and desserts. The restaurant is B.Y.O. only and you can either sit inside the dining room or out on the footpath. It's a very quiet street with little traffic, and the alfresco seating is very casual and popular. We were just picking up our takeaway pizza on Sunday night and the outdoor seats were all occupied, and there were a number of older Italian couples. I take that as a sign this food is genuine and authentic. The pizzas were amazing - $20 for the family size pizza (13.5inch), $16 for the large (12inch) and $11 for small (9inch). They also offer free delivery for orders over $20. There are mid-weeks specials too. Tuesday & Wednesday it's 2 large pizzas for $26, and Tuesday through to Thursday, if you spend more than $30 you receive a free small focacia. For the sweet tooth, there's imported Italian Gelati and home-made Tiramisu!

They also have a variety of pastas that my wife thinks are fantastic. One of the most convenient aspects of this restaurant is that they also deliver free of charge, which is very handy! It's not up to the standard of a flashy gourmet restaurant, but it is our favourite local Italian restaurant, and we think it's great!

I rarely ever feel compelled to give reviews, but I feel people should know what they are in for. (TL:DR) it's overpriced burnt dry cardboard in a box and overpriced snap frozen mushy shit in a Chinese container. I ordered 2 chicken and mushroom carbonara pastas, spaghetti bolognese, chicken avocado and Camembert pizza, kids Hawaiian pizza, and a herb and garlic bread. Paid $91 dollars for two Chinese container size pastas, two incredibly thin and dry pizzas and an equally disappointing garlic bread. We were told the wait would be 40 minutes which was fine, but when we came back they told us they "ran out of chicken and mushroom carbonara" how do you run out of pasta at a pizza and pasta place UNLESS it's snap frozen. I went there specifically for pasta and would not have ordered if I knew they had ~run out of snap frozen mush~ The ($17) chicken and mushroom carbonara that we did receive was revolting, watery, mush. Barely any actual pasta in there, it was a jelly consistency with tiny bits of broken pasta. I would put money on this being snap frozen. My housemate said it was the same consistency as lean cuisine carbonara except lean cuisine tastes a lot better. The ($22) pizzas were very thin and dry with hardly and topping. Really not even worth mentioning, nothing really noteworthy to say about a nonexistent pizza. The ($14.5) garlic pizza bread barely had any garlic flavour and was just a thin and very dry crust that tasted like doughy hell. save your money eat anywhere else.

La Zucca Café and Pizzeria is easily my most favourite place to go to for a REAL Margherita Pizza…read more Before discovering this little place hidden away in Brisbane's North side, I was sure I would never find a true, traditional Margherita. Ever. Whichever café or restaurant I dined in, I was always presented with a cheesy, greasy looking pizza, which I simply could not finish. I was at my wit's end, trying to find the perfect pizza, and I thought I never would. Well, I was wrong. La Zucca is a small café/restaurant which specialises in wood fired pizzas. And let me tell you - they are amazing! The very first time I came here, I expected to be served the same as usual - a pizza base smothered in tomato sauce, cherry tomatoes, and lots and LOTS of cheese. To my surprise, I discovered the opposite. A slice (or 6) of heaven. Okay, so let's start from the bottom. The pizza base - a light, crunchy, thin, delicious base which you can eat and eat, topped with a homemade tomato-based sauce. Little balls of bocconcini spread over the base, melted down to delicious, creamy circles of deliciousness. And to finish it off, topped with fresh basil leaves. That's it. I know it sounds simple, but that's all a Margherita pizza is, and should be. But the flavours are far from it. The mix of the tomato base, with the slight sweetness and creaminess of the bocconcini, topped with the aroma of the basil...it's simply to die for. I could eat this pizza forever. I order it every single time and even before it arrives at the table, my taste buds are tingling with anticipation and my mouth watering. I have found my happy place.

Bella Cosi is a nice little restaurant located on one of Chermside's quieter side streets, although…read moreduring peak shopping times these streets tend to get overcrowded and a bit hectic. Paid parking now being instituted at Westfield Chermside has caused a lot of the traffic to spill out over into the streets, which unfortunately can limit your parking choices for Bella Cosi. The place itself however is really quite lovely, with the choice of both outdoor and indoor seating. It oozes Italian charm, with red, black, and white seats and furnishings and an Italian street scene occupying an entire wall that gives you itchy feet and makes you want to travel. There's even the odd vespa outside, which only adds more Italian charm to the place. The tea they serve is made from real leaves, no fake tea here, and their coffee is strong and smooth, just what I love and expect from a true Italian restaurant. Breakfast is a treat here, with fluffy berry pancakes served with ice cream and excellent scrambled eggs. They also crisp the bacon if you request it. Breakfast isn't a busy time at Bella Cosi, so it's a really nice place to sit back and enjoy the Italian aura without excess noise or worries. Getting in early has its benefits, including easier parking and less of a crowd.
