I started out with their cocktail which is their name sake: grapes and soda. It was so drinkable and delicious. My boyfriend got their special which he loved so watch out for those. We tried another one that was really a beautiful drink which I think was the umeshu shiso soda wari and finally zombie cure. 3.5 oz and you do NOT taste the booze -- these drinks are DANGEROUS and delicious. Come for the good cozy vibes and drinks. Maybe leave more room than I did as I spotted some beautiful local inspired menu items!

The music choices were odd for our night, I love vinyl and collect it myself but just wasn't feeling the vibes that evening, it was a lot of house style music and the same beat over and over with no lyrics. Some folks loved it tho and had asked to move closer to the speaker so to each is own. The tables are also really close to your neighbor so you catch quite abit of convo around you and it's a touch distracting especially when it starts to get little loud as the room is small. Ordering style was interesting, after we ordered our small plates we were ready to select our main courses but the staff just took our menu away and we had to ask another server to put in our main entrees. I understand they were busy so they may have assumed we were done ordering but it was a bit of an off putting experience. Overall food was good, the bread was divine. The highlight item for us was the tuna tar tar with chinese donuts, the chili crips totally brought the dish together. Everything else was pretty good, but wasn't amazing as I hoped. The citrus notes in the canton noodles threw me off and the chicken liver mochi balls felt more like a dessert dish than an appetizer for some reason. Highlight was having the DJ also be one of the servers!! Love the vibes that Bar gobo had, definitely a good date spot. Will have to come try it out again next season.

UBC has changed QUITE a lot since i was in school but that's...another story for another time. underground parking was easy to find and it is free but you have to make sure that you give your plate to the host - there are signs in the lot so you can't miss it. we were greeted by the host and taking to our seat no problem - we were in a booth right in front of the bar so i got to see all the diff liquors and wines that they had. we had made our reso so that we can hit happy hour - i went with my usual g&t, a had the house white and s double-fisted (LOL) - hot cross fun to start then the house white as her 2nd. i had a sip of s' cocktail - autumn-vibes tho we all would have liked it to be a bit more spiced. we have a few appies on happy hour - oyster motoyaki, chicken wings and shishito peppers. the oysters - a don't do raw so this was the next best thing - were fresh and i liked the added touch of the wakame salad on the bottom. it was a nice surprise - sweet, sour, and a bit of chew added to the dish. the the chicken wings were HOT when they came out - as in temperature, which meant that they were first. they were juicy, crispy and perfect! you also get quite a few for the price you pay so def plus there. the shishito peppers were also a hit - blistered with the right amount of char! then came the main attraction - the steelhead trout that was shared among the 3 of us. it was def enough food given you get a green salad, warm potato salad, and mushrooms&greens as sides. there was a little mishap with the trout that was rectified right away. besides that, the trout was flaky and well-seasoned. we devoured that as well as the sides - we all LOVED the warm potato salad with the gherkins in it. the gherkins added a bit of crunch and tartness to the course - helped to cut the richness. the mushroom and greens - i loved the sauce that it was in (likely butter but hey yolo)! to rectify the mishap, the restaurant was nice enough to comp us a dessert - again, mistakes do happen and i wasn't asking it as i only wanted to provide feedback but here we are. we chose the applewood - an interesting twist to the normal apple tart. you have to get a bite of everything to REALLY appreciate this one all in all, i can see why this place was michelin recommended. it is def a bit of trek but something to keep in mind for that special occasion!

The truffle fries were also good at first, but they were heavily seasoned to the point where the salt and flavours became overwhelming after a while, and we couldn't finish them. The desserts, however, were the biggest disappointment. They are extremely small for the price, so keep that in mind before ordering a $15 dessert because most of them are essentially two bites. We tried all of them, and unfortunately most lacked flavour. FOREST ECHOES sounded like an interesting vegan dessert concept, but even as someone who genuinely enjoys vegan desserts, I found it almost inedible. The chestnut sponge cake was overly chewy, and combined with the vanilla crémeux created a strange gummy texture. The espresso sorbet had noticeable frozen water crystals, giving it an icy crunchy texture that tasted cheap rather than refined. This restaurant is included in the MICHELIN Guide Recommended selection. A few years ago, shortly after they were added to the guide, this used to be one of my favourite places in Vancouver. Their lemon tart was honestly one of the best desserts I had in the city. Unfortunately, that quality no longer seems to be there. The service also left a bad impression. After we finished eating, the server brought the bill without asking if we were ready and silently placed it on the table. Shortly after, she refilled our water bottle and dropped it loudly right in front of me. I checked the time and we had only been there for about an hour and a half. I completely understand table turnover, but the way this was handled felt passive aggressive and unnecessary, especially with many empty tables around us. About ten minutes later, the server returned holding the card machine even though we had not asked to pay yet, and simply stood there waiting. At that point we clearly felt pushed out. Our bill was over $200, and for that level of pricing I would expect much better service and much better food quality. I originally left this feedback on Google hoping management might address it or at least acknowledge the experience, but no one ever followed up. Unfortunately, based on this visit, I would not choose it again over other restaurants in Vancouver.

They've a lovely patio facing the seawall, and especially in the summer, it looks so inviting, and patrons often bring their dogs, and I just love the whole vibe. In the winter, too, it always looks like people are enjoying themselves here, with the warm lighting and twinkling lights. Since this wine bar is attached to the restaurant Provence, I've often passed here and heard live jazz musicians and singers who perform certain nights of the week, and man, they sound GOOD. It just always felt like this would be a super place to mellow out, have a glass of good wine, relax with friends, either on a summer day or at night, any season. I finally got to check it out in person today. I went with a friend for a drink mid-day, sitting outside. The weather was lovely, and it was a perfect day. Carmen was our server and she was great. I appreciated how knowledgable she was regarding all the wine and cocktail selections. My friend had a glass of white wine which she loved, and I had an amazing cocktail with lavender and rose. They have a decent happy hour selection which, unfortunately, we were too early to partake of. Their regular wine menu is extremely extensive. What a great neighborhood place! You can walk up to sample and order wines at the bar. Ambiance is cool and intimate - nice spot for a date or gathering with a couple friends. Food was pretty good, although it felt like the wine was really meant to be the star of the show and the food was there to complement the wine. Felt less like a place for a sit down dinner. Overall a cool spot that I would return to try wines and get a snack.

The service here makes me never want to go anywhere else. They know the food, the drinks, and the people. The drinks always hit. Whether it's sake, a local wine, or the newest cocktail they dreamed up, every drink is curated to be amazing. This place is more: the best dinner party of your life vibes than restaurant. Now the food. I crave the devilled eggs, I long for the savoury churros, and every dish is just incredible--thoughtful, executed well, and portioned well. Dachi is a true Vancouver spot, it's Canadian, it has a French influence, it has Asian fusion--that's Vancouver. And they have the relationships and supply chains to go with food and drinks.
