I was craving fluffy ice, so to Buzzles I went. I can't get there often, because I live in Humble. When I pulled up to the window, it was around 8pm. The sign said honk your horn, I did it twice. No one came to the window. I sat and waited for a little while and I saw the young ladies passing the windows. There is no way they didn't see me. I left and drove around, and as I was leaving, another car pulled up and someone came immediately. This is disappointing because I drove so far. Saved my punch card for years with the free t shirt and now that I get to the last punch, the girl says that y'all no longer honor the free t shirt because it's too expensive but instead, I get one extra punch free. I am in trouble...finally found what I have been craving for in this awful heat. Real New Orleans style snow balls. Not that chunky, crunchy snow cone from elementary school field day. (You know, the kind where the syrup sinks to the bottom, forcing you to chew your way through bits of flavorless ice to get to the goodness below, at which point you are left drinking sugar syrup from a cone). NO, this is what people call Shaved Ice, or Snow Balls. What is the distinction, you ask? Well this shaved ice melts in your mouth, each bite flavored perfectly with your choice of about 100 flavors. After looking at the extensive array of options, I chose one of my old stand-by's, Pina Colada. As I ordered, I was happy to find that I had chosen one of the top 5 flavors. Can't remember what the others are right now, but I will be sure to try them all. I added cream on top, which is essentially condensed milk. There are 5 sizes - I chose the 2nd smallest, the Small 12 ouncer. $2.25 (before the cream - which is 50 cents extra). Minutes later, my snow ball was ready. Mmmm. With the cream on top, it tasted more like ice cream than a snow cone. Not too much syrup, and not too little. You can actually specify whether you want heavy syrup (which hubby did) or less syrup (we should have for the kiddo). I like the cream, but I think next time I will go without, because it seems to overwhelm the snow ball. In addition to over 100 flavors from the staples (cherry, grape, etc) to more exotic (Do you really want to drink pickle juice ice?), there are also about 10 sugar free options. Good to know for when I become diabetic after eating too many snow balls. They also have "Premium" flavors like Strawberries and cream - for an extra charge. They also have about 10-15 kiddie combos, cleverly titled names like "Cinderella" (pink and blue bubblegum) and "Spiderman" (Tiger's blood and blue bubblegum). Genius. The best plus about this place is that nobody knows about it yet. So the time from order to snow ball is about 5 minutes. I mean, who wants to wait 30 minutes for a snow ball? I will be back. How convenient that I can get a snow cone and not even get out of my car. They had all your typical flavors as well as some specialty flavors. I was even able to sample the flavors. They also have lots of toppings and add ons including a scoop of ice cream! I decided to play it safe and go with the Buzzle flavor which is a vanilla custard with sweet cream on top. I got the kiddie size and they even put it in a larger cup for me and leveled it off so it would be easier (and less messy) to eat in the car. IT WAS DELICIOUS! The ice was soft and fluffy and when I drank though the straw I got a nice sip of the sweet cream that settled at the bottom. It stayed nice and creamy to the last drop! Updated: The owner called me immediately and explained the situation and really wants to make things right. She is so sweet and I don't want to hurt a local business that is trying hard and doing all that they can. I will definitely swing by here again. I've been here twice so far - both times through the drive thru. I love that they give you an option to get your snow cone in a bigger cup but flat so that it doesn't leak all over you in the car. The space was big enough to fit about 30+ people comfortably. The snow-cone selection available was rigorous, so it was a challenge for us to figure out what to get (everything sounded good). We finally made our decision and waited at a small table for our cones. Customers could request board games while they wait and eat. I've never enjoyed a snow-cone so much. I came yesterday and asked for blueberry cobbler with ice cream and pickle juice inside shaved ice. I had been there previously and there was no problem with my shaved ice request. The girl bought the drink to drive thru window with a cup of frozen pickle juice on the side. I said I requested my juice inside cup as I had done before, then her reply was that's a pickle on the side. I said no, I didn't ask for a whole pickle on side. She said she would remake it and apparently the evil old lady who works there shoved the frozen block of pickle juice on top of the drink. It has terribly bitter and I had to leave. Later I called to complain and left 2 messages on voicemail. Never got a call back. So today once again, I went in to speak to manager and the evil old lady said she was mgr on duty but that her son owned the place. That was not relevant to me as all I wanted was a redo since the old lady said I couldn't be refunded. Her attitude was the worst ever. She told the nice young lady to remake but she failed to tell her I wanted ice cream inside. All of a sudden she gets on phone with her son and he says to her, I would get a call from the real mgr who was his wife. The old hag was constantly being a real witch and I told her I would never return there and would make a complaint online. At that point it was not even about the drink, but about her foul and ignorant disposition. With the old evil hag working there, she definitely brings the company down. I don't know what planet the old hag flew down from but somebody needs to let her know we, customers, have choices and we don't have to come there. She needs to take her medication! First of all good service the girls there where moving fast and where polite,they have a drive-through and they take credit cards,Amex,Discover,Visa and one more which I forgot :( they also offer samples of the flavors you would like if you're not sure on what to have or never been here before this is a must do;prices are not bad either I got the large and I felt I should have order the jumbo :)) just kidding, I order the strawberry with sweet cream(which by the way I got for free because of our awesome yelp app that has a free sweet cream topping once you check-In.
