WARNING: Greedy company cares only about your money, not reputation or service.
I had my car transported from Texas to California. Delivery was scheduled on a Monday, but on the day of delivery I was told that my car will arrive "tomorrow." So "tomorrow" comes, still no car, and still "tomorrow." Finally, my car arrives on Thursday, after I made 3 days of arrangements to have the best chance of being home when delivery happens. Being a student, this means skipping classes.
On the day of delivery, I was told that the car will arrive between 11-12, which would work great for my schedule, when class is 12:30. However, the delivery truck ended up coming at 12:20. Finally, when the driver got my car off of the truck and handed me the documents to sign, I was told that I can only use cash or cashier's check.
Now, before I go on, their boss (name was Bill Buxton, to my memory) did call me yesterday telling me my car will arrive "tomorrow" (for the 3rd time now) and said one short line about paying with cash or cashier's check, which I barely remember hearing.
I told the driver that I didn't have the $750 in cash or cashier's check, but I have check or credit card, which prompted him to call his boss (Bill Buxton again). In return, Bill Buxton called me, introduced himself again, and went straight to telling me that he already told me that it's cash or cashier's check only. I explained to him that, firstly, the delivery was 3 days late, and that I had class in 20 minutes that I had to get to (or get dropped from the class). I also told him that if the delivery can be remade at a later time today or tomorrow, I would have the time to get the cash.
His response? "NO! NO! IT DOESN'T MATTER! If you don't have the money the only option is to have the car towed back and delivered tomorrow for an additional $200."
All of this said in a very arrogant, annoyed, and impatient tone. I prompted to hang up immediately, decided my priority was not to have a telephone fight with him, and ran down to the bank to withdraw the cash. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
All in all, if you want to have a satisfactory transport service, where you won't have to wait an unspecified number of days just to be screamed at by a very rude boss, then don't use Buxton's. Mr Bill Buxton should probably hire somebody else who knows proper manners and customer relations to do his job.
[Also, I looked at their website FAQ after the delivery and found
"Q: How do I pay for the transport of my vehicle?
A: We take Visa, Mastercard, cash, and certified checks. Payment can be made in advance, but must be made in full at time of delivery, prior to any vehicle storage.
I asked to pay by credit card, and was told cash or cashier's check only. Plainly put, Mr Bill Buxton was completely dishonest with my transaction,] read more
