When I first called Ron to fix a botched tile job at my landing, I didn't realize I was getting one of the best in the business. He's a tiling stud! Unlike my previous tiler, Ron dove right into the heart of the problem. He meticulously ripped out the old mess and started fresh, ensuring everything was waterproofed perfectly. Ron's approach is like a breath of fresh air. He knows his craft inside out and sticks to the old-school methods that are tried and true; it's clear he doesn't believe in shortcuts. As a result, I know that my new landing doesn't just look good, but is solid and built to last. Working with Ron was a pleasure. He was true to his word and always kept me in the loop. Even though the job was a pain in the butt, he never complained. It was obvious that his only concern was doing top-notch work. In short, if you want a tiler who's reliable, skilled, and honest (who doesn't?) Ron's your guy. Highly recommend! read more

I first discovered Ron doing a search online for a contractor who does bathroom remodels and tile work. We called Ron,made an appointment, and he promptly came to our home and we discussed a plan. My wife and I liked Ron from the beginning and as a furniture maker, I was attracted to his "Old School" methods and work ethics. Ron has been a thorough pleasure to work with.He has good communication skills and a very strong work ethic as well a high commitment to integrity and craftsmanship. He was very consistent about letting us know which days he would be here and then showing up and following through with all of his promises. Victoria and I can highly recommend Ron to anyone who would like to have their bathroom remodeled in a very professional manner and to people who value someone who works with honesty and integrity. We are very happy with the final outcome of all of his hard work! My wife and I both agree that Ron deserves a 5 star rating! David M. read more

Ron Butulia, excellent tile contractor Ron was recommended by one of the established tile stores in Santa Rosa. We selected him for an initial job installing a large porcelain tile patio floor over existing concrete slab. We were so impressed with his workmanship on that job that we asked him to move immediately into a full master bathroom shower renovation project. That job was also beautifully done. A few examples show why we recommend Ron so highly for any tile project: Outstanding quality - Because the existing patio concrete floor had numerous expansion joints, Ron went to extra effort designing the new tile placement to minimize future stresses from floor movement. Ron was the only contractor with this quality effort. Great personal service - Because our tile store cancelled our first two tile orders due to current supply issues, Ron personally visited a number of other stores to locate tile closest to our preferences. Experience - Ron has over 30 years of experience. His crew has been with him over twenty years, a sign of stability and integrity. Ron completed these projects on-time and as agreed. His prices for our projects were in line with rates quoted by other contractors. In summary, we highly recommend Ron Butulia for quality tile projects. read more

I had Ron Butulia put a backsplash in my kitchen recently. He and his workers did a very nice job. He pays attention to details and the outcome in such planning makes the difference between a beautiful job and one that is mediocre. He gives suggestions that I have never thought of and it helps because I don't have the experience to figure out what I want in some cases and how to do it I would hire him again. read more

After having our gas fireplace replaced, we had a working fireplace . The one thing left to do was replace the tile surround and hearth that was destroyed in taking out the old one. We tried to get a handy man to do the work. No luck there. A friend recommended Ron of Butulia Tile in Cotati. It was soon after we contacted Ron to get an estimate that we knew Ron was the guy to do the work. Ron was on time and very knowledgeable. His 40 years in the trade was evident. Long story short. Our Fireplace now has a tile surround and heath to be proud of. Ron took the time to do the job right no shortcuts or making do. His crew was easy to work with and truly very good at showing creativity in design. Ron and his workers made the tile work look great even if there were flaws left for him to fix. When we do our master bath over Ron will be doing the tile work. read more

Ron from Butulia Tile just completed a fabulous job on the tile in our new shower, a decorative accent in the shower, pebble tile on the shower floor, and tile on the bathroom floor. His workmen, Mike and Jose did a great job installing the tile, sealing, and grouting it. When we made a change, they handled it quickly and with great expertise. We couldn't be happier with their work, and we highly recommend them. We will use them for any other work we need done! read more

Other than adding wood floors and necessary updates, we have never had any major home upgrades until now. Originally we had a combination tub and shower. My knees were taking a beating getting in and out, so we decided to take the plunge and remodel to a shower with a bench. This is quite a process and after deciding on a contractor we began. Ron Butulia of Butulia's Tile was fantastic. I would give him 10 stars if I could. I work from home and was a bit worried all the activity would interfere, but nope all the workmen involved came and went through the back yard and into the bedroom, never getting in my way. Ron would check in every morning and give me an update of the days activities and that was that. Ron worked with us every step of the way from the tile selection through the shower door installation. Every individual we worked with through the process was professional, affable, and top notch at their part in the procedure, and most importantly cleaned up after themselves perfectly. Here is the result of his beautiful tile work. I am in love with my shower. The bench is perfect and angled in such a way as to make it easy to clean and avoid mildew. He thought of everything. The rain shower that his plumber recommended can be angled and reaches the bench with plenty of force. My water bill is going to be higher because I don't want to get out. Again we could not be happier with the result! read more

Butulia's Tile - My New Oasis - Tiling Near Me - Penngrove, California

I was recommended to Ron/Butulia's Tile many years ago. I wish I could remember by who so I could thank them profusely. I did a remodel on my home in Bodega Bay in 2014 and they did the kitchen, bath, entryway and outside pathway tile. This was an older home in a damp area where not everything was level and Ron really helped me understand the types of products, size of tile etc that would work best for a project like mine. He also helped me with suggestions on the design/placement of tile. Everything came out beautifully. Then in 2020 I did an addition to my home and again, called upon Ron and his team (Mike and Jose who are amazing and have been with him for many, many years!!) to tile my new bathroom, mudroom and backyard. Again, came off without a hitch. The last project I had was in 2021 when they tiled a new shed I had built. Over all, they're responsive, consultative, punctual, professional and what I especially appreciated was when I made a change to the various projects, I immediately received a change order and revised cost so we were always on the same page. No surprises - this is a rarity today (I speak from great experience). Obviously, I highly recommended Butulia's Tile. read more

Superb work! Not only with the tile workmanship, but with design - I thought that I knew what I wanted in the oversized shower, but Ron had some suggestions that really dressed up my master bathroom. We were introduced to Ron through our trusted contractor, so I didn't see all the 5-star reviews until now. I'm happy to add another perfect score for his work on our kitchen backsplashes. As others have said, Ron and Jose's workmanship was outstanding. He made us feel like we were his top priority, and was quick, clean, efficient, and supportive. Just as importantly, Ron was like the eye in a storm. We kept having trouble with the countertop installers, which pushed back on Ron, who couldn't complete his work until the issues were resolved. He could have tossed us to the bottom of his schedule, but he went above and beyond to bring our job in on time. He never acted like he was doing us a favor, even thoug he was. It was the perfect antidote to the poor treatment we'd received with the countertops. The pride he took in doing the job right for a fair price helped us maintain our enthusiasm for our project and will add to the pleasure we take in our kitchen for years to come. read more

Knowledge: excellent. Ron is very knowledgeable about how to layout the design of the tile so you don't have "leftover" shapes/sizes at the end of a row. Also, he pays attention to slope of floor and other details that are important. Skill: top notch. Does detailed excellent work. Would highly recommend him! read more
