We selected him for an initial job installing a large porcelain tile patio floor over existing concrete slab. After having our gas fireplace replaced, we had a working fireplace . The one thing left to do was replace the tile surround and hearth that was destroyed in taking out the old one. We tried to get a handy man to do the work. No luck there. A friend recommended Ron of Butulia Tile in Cotati. Other than adding wood floors and necessary updates, we have never had any major home upgrades until now. Originally we had a combination tub and shower. My knees were taking a beating getting in and out, so we decided to take the plunge and remodel to a shower with a bench. This is quite a process and after deciding on a contractor we began. Ron Butulia of Butulia's Tile was fantastic. I would give him 10 stars if I could. I work from home and was a bit worried all the activity would interfere, but nope all the workmen involved came and went through the back yard and into the bedroom, never getting in my way. Ron would check in every morning and give me an update of the days activities and that was that. Ron worked with us every step of the way from the tile selection through the shower door installation. Every individual we worked with through the process was professional, affable, and top notch at their part in the procedure, and most importantly cleaned up after themselves perfectly. Here is the result of his beautiful tile work. I am in love with my shower. The bench is perfect and angled in such a way as to make it easy to clean and avoid mildew. He thought of everything. The rain shower that his plumber recommended can be angled and reaches the bench with plenty of force. My water bill is going to be higher because I don't want to get out. I was recommended to Ron/Butulia's Tile many years ago. I wish I could remember by who so I could thank them profusely. I did a remodel on my home in Bodega Bay in 2014 and they did the kitchen, bath, entryway and outside pathway tile. This was an older home in a damp area where not everything was level and Ron really helped me understand the types of products, size of tile etc that would work best for a project like mine. He also helped me with suggestions on the design/placement of tile. Everything came out beautifully. Then in 2020 I did an addition to my home and again, called upon Ron and his team (Mike and Jose who are amazing and have been with him for many, many years!!) to tile my new bathroom, mudroom and backyard. Again, came off without a hitch. The last project I had was in 2021 when they tiled a new shed I had built. Over all, they're responsive, consultative, punctual, professional and what I especially appreciated was when I made a change to the various projects, I immediately received a change order and revised cost so we were always on the same page. We were introduced to Ron through our trusted contractor, so I didn't see all the 5-star reviews until now. I'm happy to add another perfect score for his work on our kitchen backsplashes. As others have said, Ron and Jose's workmanship was outstanding. He made us feel like we were his top priority, and was quick, clean, efficient, and supportive. Just as importantly, Ron was like the eye in a storm. We kept having trouble with the countertop installers, which pushed back on Ron, who couldn't complete his work until the issues were resolved. He could have tossed us to the bottom of his schedule, but he went above and beyond to bring our job in on time. He never acted like he was doing us a favor, even thoug he was. It was the perfect antidote to the poor treatment we'd received with the countertops.
