He first came out to do a preliminary estimate and said I needed to schedule another visit to have his guy do some inspection with a sewer camera because the pipe was so far down under my driveway. (No charge for the first visit.) A week later he came out with Jeff from Bulldog Sewer Cleaning to diagnose my problem. Jake and Jeff worked really well together to diagnose the issue I was having with my plumbing. They didn't mind me hovering around to check on the progress and view the camera footage either. Jake and Jeff were at my house for 3 hours working hard to camera and clean out my lines from both the basement and driveway and extract the big rocks and gravel that were impeding the flow. I was more than happy to let them borrow my shop vac to clean out the shale and limestone pebbles. The 3 previous plumbing/rooter companies that I called out to diagnose and estimate the repair didn't figure out the root cause of the issue and instead said that I needed to have my driveway dug up and the ground excavated to replace the sanitary line 8' down. These estimates ranged from $6k-$13k and that's didn't include concrete to fix my driveway after the repair!! Wtf?! Jake was a cool guy and very honest and upfront with everything. Pricing was very reasonable for all the work they did to clean my pipes out to get them free-flowing once again. When it came time to pay up, I was surprised to see that everything was done on his phone and a copy of the invoice was emailed to me. I'm all about saving trees, so that was a nice plus! Jake and Jeff saved me thousands of dollars by diagnosing the root cause of the issue correctly and I cannot thank them enough! That said, I must share my great satisfaction with the repair work done by David Frey at our house one day between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Our kitchen sink pipes went "kaput", and our DIY attempts had failed completely. Not wanting to simply pick a plumber from the phone book, we turned to a friend who recommended David Frey Plumbing. When we called, the person we spoke with on the phone was friendly, and David was able to come to our house within a short period of time. When he arrived with an assistant, I was immediately impressed by their desire to get right to work. They did a good job and didn't drag their feet at all or try to do work which wasn't needed (so my fears of a "padded bill" were put to rest!) I appreciated the fact that David and his assistant kept the work area clean and that while one of them was working on the pipes, the other was taking away equipment that was no longer needed. This kept the job moving at a good pace. Based on this repair job (and my friend's positive history with David Frey), I would definitely recommend his services.

Where they failed is in the way of service once I gave them the business. This, in my opinion is the larger measure of a good company. One that is there when things don't go so well...not one that over delivers during the sale. On March 15 my basement suffered water damage as a result of a poorly secured gasket during their install. The tech apparently didn't secure the gasket tight enough and water began to shoot out all over the dry wall, carpeting and door. Thankfully we were home to minimize the damage. While someone did come out from Pompeii to secure it, I got ZERO follow-up from management. No phone call or even letter of apology. No one acknowledged my damaged and warped door or my soggy carpeting or my soiled dry wall. I didn't expect much, though some communication from management would have been nice. Particularly since I was told I'd hear back in a couple of days. They simply swept my situation under the rug and ignored it. Mistakes happen! I understand that! Though when they do a good company addresses them.
