They have top quality plants, a lot of them hard to find, and their customer service is fantastic. They are so friendly and polite, and they'll do anything they can for you. They'll even help you find a plant you want if they don't have it and you can't find it anywhere else. Thank you Marlow, you really are the best of the best. For anybody who has anything critical to say about Marlow's orchids... were you polite? Did you treat them with respect, rather than outrage? Did you politely suggest to them what you thought they should do to make things right, or did you respond with indignation, or did you just hope that they would offer some solution? People don't know what you want or what you expect until you tell them, and treating somebody like an old friend will go a long way in getting you the resolution you hope for.

Wilbert's is a MASSIVE Christmas tree farm that spreads across both sides of Salt Road. They have pre-cut and u-cut, with the u-cut being significantly cheaper. We grabbed a saw and a cart and went on our journey. We probably should have gone across the street to hunt for our tree, as the POSTED SIGN suggested. I am sure there is a safe way to cross the street and get to another path of trees, but the dog was being annoying and we needed to get a move on hence...we went to the more baren side of the field. After finding some potentials that were dead on the inside, we landed on our perfect (slightly smaller this year) tree! The wrap up process is really easy and they even provide twine to adhere the tree to your car. You can show up with nothing, chop down a tree, and drive away with it all with the complimentary materials they have on hand. When I lived in an apartment, I headed down to the boy scout Christmas Tree station that was walkable from my house, and I think they were charging ~$65 per tree. Not the case at Wilbert's where a u-cut will only set you back $45. I highly recommend grabbing your fam and your pooch and heading to Wilbert's this holiday season!

Each entrance has a team of guys and girls to check you out, shake the tree, cut off the bottom branches and help you put it on the car. They also have manual saws for you to borrow. The price does seem to go up every year which I'm not fond of but that's what keeps them in business I guess. They also sell wreaths and precut trees at a lower price. It's a great place to go to keep up a tradition and if you want a real tree for Christmas

The service is free, but they take donations for Wild Wings (excellent non-profit in Mendon Ponds Park that cares for animals who are too injured to live in the wild). The Bird House does have a wide range of bird seed and feeders, but there are plenty of gifts, games, and decor to keep you browsing for a while. They have birding and garden books, binoculars, and jewelry. My father-in-law is outdoorsy, so we put together a gift basket of some hand tools, a bird seed scoop, and some squirrel repellent items (all natural!) I also saw that they do a free puzzle swap on occasion. If you like gardening or birding (or know someone who does) this is a great place to check out.
