Truck

Oh swow! This awesome food truck came by our office the other day ago. I had already eaten, but I craved something sweet, so I asked my co-worker if she wanted to share the Butterscotch pudding w/toffee almond brittle. We split it in half and all I can say is, life changing. Incredibly silky and smooth and the almond toffee was perfect. It complimented the sweet butterscotch in a way that cannot be expressed in words. If you want the most amazing pudding you have ever had you should get this. Without a doubt, you will never taste something this good from a food truck in your life. The people on the truck were friendly and quick with our order. 5 stars! Great prices, great food, great people. The whole package.

A delectable treat!

They've got one of the smartest food truck strategies out there. Let others concentrate on the savory items and wipe up as everyone craves dessert after a hearty meal. The butterscotch pudding is definitely the to get item and is the perfect size for sharing or even to take home to loved ones. They sell some other dessert and drink items but everyone gets the pudding. Butterscotch On The Go is cash only.

I appreciate that they are available for desserts every Monday at The Willow's Market Food Truck Night, and that they accept credit card. It was also a nice change of pace in desserts for me, a puddin'. However, I think the butterscotch pudding was just too simple and basic for me. It's just some butterscotch pudding with whipped cream and almond toffee on top. It was nice, but it didn't really excite my taste buds. I ate it because I had it. I think that the 3 elements involved(butterscotch, toffee & whipped cream), were all tasty enough, but they didn't combine to make it an even better experience. They were just thrown together. At the price, and the reviews, I was definitely expecting way more.

The inside has such a pretty aesthetic, with a few inside tables to How to order is with an iPad kiosk, so card payment only. The menu selection is nice and simple, offering matcha and hojicha options. There are also small desserts like cheesecakes, cake rolls whole or slice and tiramisu. This tea shop is nice to go to after work to relax and decompress for a bit. Items my coworker and I ordered- * Hojicha Strawberry Latte - light sweet, soy milk and less ice. This cafe specializes in Asian inspired drinks, roll cakes, basque cheesecakes, as well as Japanese puddings. The interior is super Japandi / minimalistic aesthetic. Their desserts have also been officially marked as "not too sweet" by my inlaws so you know it's got that Asian parent stamp of approval! I haven't tried the basque cheesecakes and the puddings, but have been a repeat customer for their roll cakes. So far I've tried their matcha, coffee, and black sesame roll cakes and all are fantastic. Super strong flavors and the chiffon cake isn't too dry. I will say for a single slice the price is quite steep, but it /is/ located in Palo Alto so rent is not cheap I would assume. Also if you wanted an entire roll, you have to order 2 business days in advance.

The pastries are very inviting - I sometimes allow myself a treat. The almond croissant is one of my favorites. The avocado toast is delicious - sometimes the poached egg is a little too firm but I can deal with that. The chefs make some great brunch items. The eggs are always good. The freshly baked bread is a nice take home for lunch. The staff here are very friendly and helpful. I know their jobs are very busy and they work hard. It doesn't go unnoticed. I'd love it if they opened a location in San Carlos. The Redwood location isn't as convenient to get to and park.

HEALTH CODE VIOLATIONS!!!…read more I am writing this review to both warn other customers and so that management sees this. I was at the MP location earlier this week and saw not one but TWO health code violations committed by employees. First, one of the ladies was drinking out of an open cup at the front where the food and beverages are prepared. This is against the health code! 113977. (a) Except as specified in subdivision (b), an employee shall eat or drink only in designated areas where contamination of nonprepackaged food; clean equipment, utensils, and linens; unwrapped single-use articles; or other items needing protection cannot result. (b) A food employee may drink from a closed beverage container if the container is handled to prevent contamination of the employee's hands, the container, nonprepackaged food, and food-contact surfaces. The employee (brown hair in a ponytail, wearing grey Adidas) was frequently drinking a pink drink from a clear open cup behind the counter where the pastries are! Also, I saw the male employee behind the counter sneeze and use his bare hand to cover his sneeze. He rubbed his nose and sniffed. I was watching him from my table to make sure that he washed his hands. He went over to the sink behind the cash register and I kid you not, he turned on the water and for literally ONE SECOND put his hands under it. He then wiped his hands together to dry them. HE DID NOT USE SOAP TO WASH HIS HANDS AFTER SNEEZING INTO THEM!!!! Article 4. Handwashing 113953.3. (a) (2) After touching bare human body parts other than clean hands and clean, exposed portions of arms. (5) After coughing, sneezing, using a handkerchief or disposable tissue, using tobacco, eating, or drinking. He then went back to work grabbing customers' pastries. I'd really love for management to please have a word with staff/review training and protocols - please don't respond to this review with the canned "Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We have addressed this with our staff and we will take your comments into consideration." Please actually DO SOMETHING and ensure that all of your staff follow proper health code laws! Thank you!! :D
