Sold my desperate mom and I a used which was "as is" but when we asked if anything was wrong with the car he said no and only that the front passenger door doesn't open from the outside. We had just experience our car breaking down from transition slipping so when we found the 2011 Honda CR-V it has said excellent condition and that it's a clean title. The transmission is completely sluggish and there's jerking when getting into gear. He insisted we bought it that day even though my mom was saying we want to come back the next day. We felt rushed and before we were in the office signing paperwork I had asked multiple times to see the Carfax, He wouldn't give it to me and finally when we were signing papers he let me see the Carfax!! The price range had said 9k to 11k but that's for extremely good condition, he was selling it for 7k plus tax which is still high because the transmission is bad. The fluid was sludge and I nearly got in an accident because the acceleration is slow. My mother had gotten surgery hours prior to us seeing the car and she was under the influence of prescription medication from the surgery, She still wanted to come see it and we said we would come out the next day too. She was disoriented but still trusted the man to tell us the truth and it was obvious she wasn't in her right mind. I wasn't in my right mind either even though both of us thought we were. The next day my mom was recollecting what had happened and feels she was used and scammed for 7k. The next day we had called to talk to the dealer and no one answered or called back. Today, 8/23/25 we drove the car up to talk to him about a refund and the misrepresentation of the car and it's history. He instantly shut us down and was extremely defensive. We tried to tell him we are being polite and to talk with respect and he was rude the whole time. He was talking over us and raising his voice. And ultimately he said "there wasn't any problems until you guys bought it" WHICH IS THE NUMBER ONE THING BAD DEALERS SAY. THIS PLACE IS A FRAUD AND SCAMS PEOPLE. read more

I bought a vehicle from the dealership we thought it was just a thermostat that was bad found out that it was the head gasket called the dealer asking him to help me fix it. So my S/O bought me a car as a surprise, it happened to be from this place.... I immediately realized that the AC was cutting on and off, so spent roughly $600 fixing that! And then the car just began completely dying less than a week after purchasing it, took it to an auto shop, and there was a long list of things that were wrong, #1. The tires are dangerously bald, like a immediate danger. #2. There are FOUR oil leaks that will cost over 5K to fix. #3. The brake fluid was contaminated #4. The AC compression clutch relay was CHARRED and the reason for the car completely dying, that's was $500 to fix. #5. The axle seals are leaking.... The car was 6 thousand dollars and now we're already over a thousand dollars in for repairs. It's just sad... I had high hopes for this SUV. read more

My U.S. Army brother Jeff and his daughter Tiffany offered us top notch customer service yesterday. I purchased an awesome Dodge Ram and couldn't be happier. Jeff is a no nonsense kind of guy, yet humble and candor in regards to the few quirks that the truck had due to it's age. Upon compiling the paperwork we discovered several similarities between our families. Thank you Sgt Butters for a speedy and wonderful car buying experience. As for some of the bad reviews I have read, I've noticed a sort of trend amongst people. They seem to display a sort of "cry baby", self entitled attitude as If everyone should kiss their butts and offer them respect on a silver platter. BUYER BEWARE! Butters claims they clean the vehicles for covid, but this is simply not remotely true. The vehicles on this lot are filthy. No cleaning preparation was made despite setting up an appointment. I arive early to view from afar the effort and none were made. On to the vehicle. Besides the filthy sate of the vehicle, and my attempt to insist I needed a cheap vehicle in , atleast running order, Mr. Butter took full advantage of my ignorance. I do claim responsibility for that, but his willingness to sell a vehicle that was utterly worthless compared to the failed engine cost and a long standing Salt Lake accredited service company standing behind their findings that the vehicle should have never been sold screams of his dishonest demeanor and willing Ness to take advantage of anyone. I saw another veteran on here stating his gratitude toward his comrade in arms. Well I am a veteran as well and my feelings are of utter discuss. Take your time and search out other options for a vehicle. Buying one here will only lead to disappointment and financial ruin. read more

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME!!! Rude, arrogant, doesn't care whatsoever that you are on the lot, nor does he care if you buy anything. Every negative review I read about this guy and Butters car lot appears from my experience today to be well earned. CHECK OUT REVIEWS BEFORE YOU GO THERE. This car lot looks more like a junkyard and the owner has an attitude to match. I called him 2 days in a row before driving the third day 140 miles roundtrip to his car lot and discussed a specific vehicle. I made an appointment via his website for a test drive the day before going there. After looking at the car, I told him I wanted to take it to have it checked by a mechanic. I told him they would do an 85 point check and it would take 45 minutes to an hour and they were only 4 miles away from him. He said he didn't have time to go there with me and told me that I should have made an appointment. I informed him that I did make an appointment, THROUGH HIS WEBSITE THE DAY BEFORE, and he looked at me like I was speaking Chinese. As for not having time, it looked like no human has set foot on the property in months, dirt and weeds everywhere, and not a soul around. . Then he said his insurance didn't allow people to take test drives without him in the car. I have sold cars at 3 different dealerships and people could always go by themselves if they wanted to. I was leaving my car there (which was worth 10 cars on his lot) but that still wasn't good enough. I told him that I just drove 70 miles to get there. He again looked at me like I was speaking Chinese and he didn't give a rip. If I could give this dealership a minus rating I would. Junkiest looking cars and junkiest looking dealership I have ever laid eyes on. After seeing some of the reviews I almost didn't go, but I tried to give him the benefit of the doubt. As I was walking away I said "every negative thing said about you on the internet appears to be true." Same blank stare, like nobody was steering the ship. He didn't know anything about the car we were asking about, and was more interested in the customers coming onto his lot than us. The keys didn't work very well. It wasn't a very good environment. I found a minivan I wanted and read good reviews about this place so I went and test drove the van. I really liked it but still wanted my mechanic to take a look. I talk to Jeff and he said he would hold on to the van for me and take it to the auto place I wanted first thing monday morning. I had it all set up and waited on monday to hear back about the van. when i hadn't heard that morning i called and he said he had taken it in first thing in the morning. so I waited when it all came out at the end of the day they had taken someones offer that morning. in a nut shell. they r liers and dont keep their word. they wouldn't let another mechanic take a look at the van. in my opinion there was something they didn't want found. read more

Went by to look at a car after seeing it advertised on KSL. Tried to talk to someone about it and they said it wasn't there because his wife was using it. I said I would be by tomorrow to look at it and they said great. Went by the next afternoon to look at it (2:30 pm) and there was not a soul to be found. I went around the corner to park in the back lot under a tree in the shade to wait for someone to get there. Checked back 15 minutes later still no one. Finally after 3:00, I checked again and the older gentleman is there. I told him i was back from yesterday to look at the car. (He was there the day before and heard the whole conversation.) He said it still wasn't there. So I have now wasted well over an hour of time and he just says his wife is driving it, doesn't even offer to get it down here even after 2 separate trips on my part. I ask if wants to sell the car or not. He then gets all pissy with me because I was in the back lot waiting for someone to actually buy at his shop to do business. Then he asks what did I want him to do, 'pull the car out of my ass?" I responded that maybe you should actually have a car on the lot if you are going to advertise it on KSL. He then just told me it wasn't for sale. Acted like a jerk, almost all the cars on the lot are pieces of junk anyway. Stay away unless you see the car parked there as you drive by and you see someone actually there, otherwise you'll just be treated like some vagrant. I had cash in my pocket too. read more

Jeff was very unprofessional. We bought an older truck and he assured us that it ran very well and had no problems. We got it home and find out that the transmission is going out and the price to fix it was more than the truck. He also never sent the title when he said he would. My husband called him to ask about the title and see why he didn't mention the transmission problems. Jeff got pissed off and told my husband to never call again and he hoped the truck blows up! Legally we can take the truck back because he didn't get the title to us in 48 hours but he said he wouldn't take it back. Defiantly not someone to trust or deal with. read more
