I actually visited by accident though as I was driving past and noticed it was open, so I popped in for a quick visit. This is a gift shop focussing on selling items made in the Glasgow/central belt area, which I think is a really lovely idea. I am forever buying presents for Aussies back home and it's always nice to be able to get something really local. I had a bit of a browse and saw at least 35 things I would love to own - there's really nice jewellery, mugs, felted animals, tote bags, candles, tea, prints, tea towels, cards and lampshades. There's stuff for babies but not too much stuff (sometimes nice gift shops get overrun with baby stuff!) - bibs etc. I picked up a little iron-on kit (see picture) for £5, there's matching badges to go with it too. Suzi who runs the shop is super sweet and welcoming, and will help you find whatever you need. She mentioned she is going to be hosting small classes (max 6 people at a time) in the shop - crochet, calligraphy, screen printing etc which I think is a great idea.

I can't believe I've not reviewed this wonderful wee shop! I love it :)…read more I'm a fan of all things crafty and gifty so I was very happy when this little spot popped up round the corner from my flat! Their motto is all about selling products created by local people around Glasgow and central Scotland. What a wonderful idea! It's a great wee shop for cards and gifts, there's some lovely hand crafted items. The stock changes all the time which is great, you never know what you'll find! I have a beautiful Glasgow skyline necklace the mr found in here. And the sell ovenbird coffee beans! Which was great to find out :) They also run classes and work shops some evenings, although I've not made it along to one, it looks like a lovely space to work in. And Suzi is lovely! I lost half an hour last time I popped in just browsing and chatting. :) just wish I was about when it's open more often!

This is a brilliant place to go for some fabric at good prices. I had taken part in a few sewing…read morelessons and had never really bought much fabric before. I had no idea what to do once I'd chosen my fabric but the ladies at the shop were really friendly and didn't laugh when I asked loads of obvious questions! I was served by a girl who helped me choose everything I needed for my project - I just showed her the pattern and from that she was able to give me the right amount of material. There's 3 floors of fabric, the ground floor is my favourite. It's where all the children's fabrics are but there's all sorts of cool patterns that would suit adults too. There's also a large clearance section of fabrics. Cotton Print will now be my go to place for fabric in the future, especially as they sell small bits of fabric for quite cheap so even if you're skint you can still buy something.

How have I not been to this fabric Mecca before now?! Three floors of lovely fabric (okay, two…read morefloors of lovely fabric and one floor of mince - ascend the stairs at your peril!) and it's all for home decor! I was in recently to look for curtain fabric and just to have a nosey. My previous impression of Cotton Print was that it's only for roll-ends and offcuts, so I was very surprised to find that it's a well-stocked shop full of perfectly good fabric. As I mentioned above, there are three floors of fabric and it's all home dec. You enter on the ground level, which is sort of in the middle in terms of quality. The posh stuff is in the basement and the mince for furnishing uni flats and dodgy rentals is upstairs. On the main floor, there's a little cafe where you can get a free cup of coffee or tea to enjoy while you rest your feet and look through their little library of design books. There is a small amount of haberdashery, wallpaper and coordinating cushions on offer, but the main focus is the fabric. I'd strongly recommend it for those inclined toward DIY home decor. We're about to move house, so the chance that you'll see me perusing the rolls at Cotton Print Factory Shop are pretty good these days.

They have watercolours, prints, oil pastel pieces, little metal figures that you see in quirky gift shops and I also noticed Marilyn Monroe and John Wayne prints if that's something that you're looking for. When I popped in I noticed the shop assistant talking to other customers about a purchase they had made, it's nice to see that they're knowledgeable about the products that they sell and it's not just a case of wham, bam, thankyou mam when they take your money then you leave as in some other shops. I guess this added to the friendly atmosphere that the shop had. I often feel intimidated in art shops as if the staff are wondering if I know my Picasso from my Klimt but I didn't feel like that here. If you're looking for artworks to spruce up your house or as a gift for someone then they have some really nice pieces here.

The stuff in here is safe, welcoming, and suits the suburban location. You won't find anything too controversial, just nice pictures to stick above the fireplace. All the usual suspects are here, from famous artists' prints to that picture of the Glasgow tenement in the snow, and a quite comical sketch of John Wayne. There's also a few more unusual pieces for the chin strokers amongst us, but it all fits together nicely in a way that both Joe Public and art lovers can appreciate.
