Tavern in the Square - Chopped Greek

Welcome to Braintree, Tavern in the Square!…read more What once was home to Friday's is now the renovated Tavern in the Square. I think we can all agree that Friday's was a dump and needed to go. I have been to several other Tavern in the Square and I am happy that they finally came to Braintree. With plenty of parking, depending on the time and day, this restaurant is clean, new, and is perfect for watching all kinds of sports. With great big TVs, excellent food and wonderful service, I believe Tavern in the Square will thrive here. We stopped in here for a quick lunch and had great service. I ordered the Chopped Greek with Chicken which was larger than I hoped but still very good. My husband had their Steak & Cheese Crunch Melt. It reminded me of a steak and cheese but better. A must order for sure! Go check it out for yourself! I know you will be impressed as much as we were.

I did make a reservation ahead of time, and I'm glad we did because by the time we were leaving it was really busy inside. I used to frequent this location when it was Fridays but it seems like they have a lot more room in this location compared to others and even have a patio from what I see. I only opted for a few appetizers as I wasn't too hungry Bang Bang broccoli - 4/10 could've been cooked longer and the sauce should be on the side, but it has some flavor. Maple gonchujang wings 9/10 These wings were really good and recommended by our waiter Madyson, and I'm so glad I got them. I do wish they were cooked well done as I had asked, and were just a bit smaller. (But that's my personal preference) Nachos with chicken 5/10 I feel like these might've been done before our other food because it was cold and barely had any chicken nor toppings. I did ask for additional toppings on the side which she brought quickly. I wanted a tequila based drink and she recommended a lemon drop with tequila, mango and guava juice and it was really good. Overall the experience was good, but the pricing is a little steep for the quality and quantity of the food. Madyson made the experience that much better as well, thank you.

Or who can I bribe to get me the recipe for this made-in-heaven-by-angels-in-a-chef's-cap meal??? Ok, I could go on and on about this for days!! But I'll stop here. The service was great! I couldn't have asked about a better wait staff. I have a shellfish allergy and I have never been to a restaurant that cared enough to "ask my manager" if it would be ok for me to substitute Jasmine rice for the risotto. I am grateful for this consideration!! Finally, our seat in the bar area was pretty nice too. The mega sized TV was the icing on the cake. I love 110 Grill and the next time in Massachusetts you will definitely see me again.

I first tried it at the Phantom Gourmet Food festival, and it was delicious! Having it fresh at the restaurant was just as good. It's actually not super cheesy (no cheese pull) and it's drizzled with bbq and ranch sauce on top. The pork was extremely tender and I loved the crispy onion strings that came on top. Also tried their gnocchi bolognese and 110 spinach dip. The gnocchi bolognese was really tasty, perfectly cooked. The 110 spinach dip wasn't bad either, but it did feel a little one noted. I do think it's a great app though! Service wasn't bad, but it was really busy in there. Our server probably only checked on us a few times throughout our meal (which is fine, I'm not a high maintenance customer lol). Have to give a shoutout to the GM though because our server accidentally double charged us (for items we didn't order) and I didn't realize until I got home. The GM (Rich I believe) was able to fix it over the phone which was awesome.

Dotty's is delightful!…read more Everything you want from a restaurant Dotty's has. Formerly known as The Townshend, this Quincy local restaurant is the best place for exceptional service, fantastic food, creative cocktails and am Ambiance that will sure impress any date. This might be my 3rd or 5th review because why not! When you find a place that you love you brag about it. For starters we shared their fried pickles with their homemade ranch dressing. We also love their stuffed dates. For entrees, I had their Salmon which is always cooked to perfection. My husband's had their Steak Frites which he enjoyed very much. Dessert is always a tough choice since all of them are excellent but this time we went with their brownie sundae. After plenty of glasses of wine and some dirty martinis let's just say we didn't want to leave but it was getting late. If you have never been to Dotty's or their other restaurants I highly recommend checking them out! Cheers

Met up with some good friends in Quincy and we're looking for a place to eat. Conveniently located by the Quincy Center stop, this place was great! We were seated quickly without a reservation (though clearly it can get popular, we showed up at 5:30 and by 6 the place was full of reserved parties!) and our server was very helpful. We got the fried calamari and the steak tartare as starters. While the calamari itself was crunchy and nicely lightly battered and fried, I would guesstimate that about 50% of the dish was actually calamari. The rest of the fried bits were carrot coins, lemon slices (with the seeds still in...) and what I think were pieces of poblano peppers. This honestly felt disappointing as the portion was quite small to start, and then for half of it to be miscellaneous fried veggies felt like it wasn't a great deal. The steak tartare was also an extremely tiny portion, with the plate heavily populated by arugula leaves and six tiny toasts. Not the most generous portions here unfortunately. I got the steak frites as my main. The steak itself was presently beautifully with a peppercorn sauce poured over it. However, I was looking for the salt shaker because the steak was quite underseasoned. While it looked like a good medium rare cook (how I ordered it) with a great looking sear, I had quite a bit of chew work to do getting through the gristly bits. The fatty side cap was a bit chewy and could have used some direct searing. The oysters were delicious! Not even a little bit of grit, with a very onion-heavy mignonette as an accompaniment. We didn't order much from the raw bar due to my friends' tastes but I feel like this would probably be the reason I come back another time with different people! I could have definitely been happier with the food here. But again don't sleep on the raw bar and if you're looking for a nice place to hang for an evening, overall great vibes here!

I saw some delicious sounding seafood, steak and Italian dishes as well as salads and appetizers on the menu and since I was more in the mood for a steak I picked the Filet Mignon as my entree. They had two different sized cuts that they were offering and I decided to go with the smaller one. It was very delicious and I got the mashed potatoes as a side dish which was also very good. I happened to be there during a busy lunch hour so the place was a bit noisy but nothing too overwhelming. It did take a little while for the meal to be served but it was well worth the wait. The prices are a bit high but you definitely get what you pay for. I really liked this restaurant and I will definitely consider dining with them at one of their other locations within the Boston area.
