I am not from this area and didn't know any local mechanics. I found Bushey's through Yelp. I love this shop! They are very honest! I have brought both of my cars here for repairs and they are good on the warranty. I got the transmission fixed in one of my cars and after repair it slipped a couple of days later. I had it towed in again and it was fixed free of charge. Not all mechanics are as honest. My second car was a Hyundai Sonata I brought in due to my oil light coming on. They gave me a oil change and then my car was ok. 2 days later my engine died and I got it towed back to them. They did some research and noticed my car engine was recalled. They recommended I take my car back to the Hyundai dealership. And I did and ended up getting a NEW engine. I'm telling this story because if it wasn't for them I would have been out of a car and just took it as a loss. I am so grateful for them. And I always come here when I have issues with my car. They are honest and the price is always reasonable and the work is under warranty if you purchase the parts through them. So glad I found them :-) read more

I have been going to Bushey's for 10+ years now. I have never had any problems with anything they have done. I usually have Dan work on my car and he has always been honest with me and I trust his judgment. He had my Mazda in the shop for a week trying to figure out why it was running rough. He finally said he couldn't figure it out without having to buy a wiring diagram just for my car. He charged me nothing and suggested taking it to the dealership. They charged me $400 and fixed a broken wire. It lasted about a month and I had to take it back for the same thing. They again charged me $400 and said it was a different wire. BS meter was really moving. Bottom line is Dan charged me nothing for about 25 hrs work. Since then I will let no one else work on my vehicles. Very honest business!! read more

Im a huge fan & believer of a good reputation and this place has always had one in my eyes. A reputable business deserves a loyal customer, vice versa. This shop has been a "go-to" for my family for YEARS. Years ago the business was called Colonial Towing & Service. We had great rapport with the owner and employees. I was kinda skeptical when I found out they were going under a new name and management but the customer service bar is still high. My cars for the past few years have all been under dealer warranty so I have not had a dire need to come here in recent years but I had to stop in today for a MSI (Maryland State Inspection). You see a ton of shops by the Waldorf MVA offering MSI and some even state they will perform it while you wait. I couldnt find any place (even the place that advertises they will do it while you wait) that could have me in and out in a few hours. I did not have somebody that could pick me up and drop me back off so waiting was a must. Bushey's quoted me 2 hours and it took 3 (which wasnt bad, 1 hour was everyone's lunch break.. plus I was a walk-in on a Friday). They apologized for the "delay", I was just glad that they were able to accomodate my needs and time frame. I would definitely recommend them due to their customer service and pricing. Have to big up Bushey's Automotive. Had a nasty intermittent no start concern that another place didn't want to take the time to diagnose. Dan at Bushey's broke the vehicle down and traced the concern to a faulty wire on my starter. Even advised me that the starter looked relatively new and that I may want to see if there was still any previous part or repair warranty. Appreciated the thoroughness and the honesty. 3 weeks ago, I left my car at this business so that they can run diagnostics to determine what was going on with my car. Week 1, I called to check on my vehicle. I was told that they were unable to get to my car that week.Never received a phone call to let me know anything. Week 2, I called and was told that they were running test on my vehicle, that they did not know what was wrong with my vehicle. At the end of the 2nd week, I called and was told that they needed special codes to fix my car. I told the mechanic that I would be picking up my car to take it somewhere else.When I went to pick up the car, it looked as if they never looked at it. Everything in my car was dis shoveled ! Papers were everywhere and it smelled like cigarette smoke. Poor customer service. They do not know what they're doing! Never take your car to this place for any services! read more

I did my timing belt replacement at this shop. Later on the car started shaking and workers didn't want to fix the problem (didn't honor their warranty). After contacting this place and asking them to honor their warranty, I ended up going to the Honda dealership and payed over $1200 for the mess that Bushey's did to my car. After repairing the car at the Honda dealership, I requested Bushey's to pay me back and showed that Honda dealership in writing stated that problems with the engine were caused by incorrect installation of the timing belt. Bushey's declined and ignored my request. The owner/manager of the store, Mr.Howard, was very rude and told me that as a customer I needed to adjust my schedule to meet with him, if I really wanted them to fix their mistake (I tried to talk with him three times before 5pm, but he leaves the store after 1pm). read more

It's hard to find a good mechanic. I found one. This guy Jeff who runs Bushey's seems to know a lot. I have muscle cars and I take them there. Now I realize most people don't need the boost adjusted for there supercharger or custom mixing a methanol injection to increase horsepower. So if all you need is a brake job and oil change, your going to be in good hands. read more

I rented a Uhaul at the Bushey's location and my reservation was at 8am. I waited an hour and no one ever showed up. Uhaul had to switch my rental to another location. Thank goodness they had the size truck I needed. I will NEVER rent from this place again. Very unprofessional. read more

I went there because I blew out a tire and needed an oil change. I have a newer 2012 Cruze with all the computer quirks, (Tire Monitoring, etc.) They could have easily charged me for a new tire, reset all the computer sensors, tire disposal, etc. Instead, they gave the option of trying to plug the tire first to save money. It was a pretty big hole and they were not optimistic about a plug working but they did it anyways. Not only that all their bays were full and instead of having me wait for hours for the work they got me right in. Fixed the tire, (the plug did work) balanced it for free, did the oil change, reset all computers for free and I was in and out within an hour. The quality of the work was top notch and the friendly service was welcomed. The integrity of the work is also impressive. I have been taking my old cars here for years and they have always treated me well. Like a family member. But now I will take my new car here as well. No more paying dealer prices for sub quality work. Bushey's will be the only mechanics to touch any of my cars! Thanks guys! read more

DO NOT RENT uhaul trucks from here. I rented a truck and returned the truck after hours so no one was there to check it in, the gas was replaced prior to returning it of which I have documentation. I recieved a call from them with a nasty attitude about the fact I needed come back and the replace the gas. I explained that when I returned it the gas was in it. i went to this place for an oil change and a vehicle safety inspection. The service was more than happy to go out to buy the preferred oil for my car. This was a good first impression. However don't let this fool you. My first concern; their mechanic stalled my engine out because he cannot drive a manual transmission, purely shameful. I failed my vehicle inspection because my window tinting was 'too dark' testing at 34.5, 34.8, 32.4% (35% is the legal limit). I have high quality 3M window tint installed by Absolute Perfection in Frederick County (a fantastic company). Two of my windows passed, but two failed, which, logically, doesn't make any sense. There was saliva from my dog on the window as well as bird poop and they didn't think about cleaning this off before testing. So the next day, I washed my car, cleaned my windows, and brought it back to be retested. The meter was still failed me. Then the man started spouting out information, trying to do subtraction in his head about factory tint and cheap window film, showed me his truck, and then said that I was the one with poor equipment... So, I accepted my loss and went to Martin's, in La Plata, just to see what their meter shows. No surprise that all of my windows tested to 35% on the dot, and I passed my vehicle inspection...So, bottom line, they are using poor quality meters for vehicle inspections, and you'll save your time and money by going elsewhere. read more
