It's too complicated. You need a new system anyway- it's old" said I needed a complete replacement because they can't service my air conditioner anymore - wanted to sell me a $10k unit. Branden came over and did a long look at my unit and agreed that it was an electrical thing- apparently he WAS willing to figure out what was going wrong- got it going again and said when it stops working again to call him so he can figure out where the wiring needed replaced. Spent a long time at my house. Well, it went out a month later and he came over and did everything he could to figure out where the wiring problem was. Took a couple visits and lots of trial fixes. Said he could service my AC just fine in the future and fixed the issue- everything working again. He also has lots of options for when I do need to replace my older system- but it's not now. Very conscientious, very knowledgeable and very patient and tries very hard to fix the problem without taking shortcuts and not wanting to do the work cares more about the customer than making a big sale.

First visit ($187): The technician claimed a personal medical issue and required me to provide my own ladder and physically assist in operating his equipment. The leak was not fixed. Second visit (Promised by their office as a $O warranty call): The technician applied a cosmetic putty patch ("thumb gum") to the exterior cabinet rather than performing a mechanical repair. He then completed unauthorized maintenance and added a $385 plan renewal charge on-site. The Service Manager refused a refund. I filed formal disputes for both charges with my credit card company, which returned my money in full after reviewing the voicemail and email evidence. Substandard trade work and incorrect billing.

On the email link, you can also see the name and picture of the tech that will be coming out. The next day I received an alert at about 10am notifying me that the tech was on the way. The status email showed me his GPS location! I thought this was a really nice feature, it gave me an idea of about how far he was away. Justin was my HVAC tech. He wore a mask and shoe covers when he entered the house. I explained the issue I was having, and he first took a look indoors. He quickly found the problem was a leak in the evaporator coil. Justin presented me with all my options and facts and let me make my own decision. At no point was he pushy or trying to sell me extra services. I had some other HVAC questions, and he welcomed those and answered them and provided good suggestions. Since one of the options was a full replacement of my unit, on the same day I received a call from the Dole sales rep. He said he was able to come out that same day to give me some options of replacing the AC unit. He was courteous, came out, took a look, and we spoke through options. Enter Kevin for the sink, and Bruce for the refrigerator. Kevin fixed the MB sink, which was corroded and needed a replacement drain. Bruce told me the 40-year-old Whirlpool refrigerator in the basement was a loss, as the freon it's using is running out, and no longer available, replaced a long time ago by another coolant. OKEY DOKEY . . . time to get another refrigerator for the basement, but this Whirlpool sure served its 40 years well!! Lastly, Bruce told me the kitchen Whirlpool refrigerator needed new gliders for the freezer basket. I could see how they were not working completely. Bruce ordered the gliders and within a couple weeks, he was here to install said new gliders. They worked perfectly. And Bruce showed me how well that freezer basket was working and actually the whole damn drawer opened . . . something I had never experienced. YIPPEE on all counts!! I still need to contemplate getting a replacement refrigerator for the basement. Nothing fancy at all. Just a plain old refrigerator. We'll see!
