Unbelievably horrible customer service. I am visiting friends in the area and wanted to show up at dinner with a nice bottle of Barbera D'Alba. I went to the register and provided my NYC ID for the glaring mustached guy. He looked at it and before smugly explaining that he couldn't accept it because it was out of state, he grabbed the bottle and put it on the far counter behind him. What, as if I was going to grab it and run?! I have to agree with the prior reviews - I thought that a UNITED States government issued ID was valid in the UNITED STATES. Changing their policy to accept valid forms of ID would not only make sense, but it would make them more money. At this point, I will happily take my money elsewhere. read more

I liked the old store but the new management is awful! I made a purchase and had to return it a couple of days later. The guy at the register said he didn't know how to operate it. He kept me waiting for 20 mins. Then when I got my statement I found he had charged me again for the exact same amount instead of giving me a credit!! Stay away!! read more

Convenient, plenty of parking, and pretty good prices, especially for the location. There was this one time I walked in around 11:30 in the morning to pick up some Prosecco for mimosas, and the cashier happened to be eating a really late breakfast while at his station . . . at least he apologized and rung me up appropriately. I just moved to the area from California and find it really strange that I can no longer buy alcohol in the grocery store. Thankfully I have founfd this place which is really conveniently near Hanscom where I work. I can't tell you how many times I've stopped at Neillio's next door for dinner, and then ran into Busa's for a wine or beer to go with my meal. The staff seem to be very friendly and helpful. They definitely joke around with the customers and I suppose some people may not get the humor. The mustached guy that I think other reviewers are referring to has helped me pick a few bottles of wine and has always been nice - I haven't had a bad bottle yet. Pass and go to Giles. I bought 6 wines a few weeks a ago. One was bad. I took it back to replace and they would only exchange it if I had a receipt and it had been bought in last few days. Just terrible customer service. They also don't take out of state identification which is just insane to me - there are plenty of ways to check out of state ID including books, computer, and so on. The people at the register are incredibly un-informed about the products they sell. I'm in the Army stationed in NY and from Virginia visiting friends. Tried to buy a bottle of wine and they refused to sell to me or let any of the other three people with me who have a Massachusetts license to buy the wine because I carried the bottle. I was the youngest person at 28. The clerk was rude and not at all apologetic about it. And before anybody thinks this is not the store's fault due to state law. Massachusetts law says that a military ID should receive the same treatment as a Massachusetts driver's license. read more

Worst liquor store ever. Grew up in Lexington but changed my address to NH to save money on school. Went to buy a cigar today and they wouldn't even accept the ID despite being over 21. Stupid store policy and awful service. Never go here, there's a much nicer place half a mile down in the center of Lexington. I wish there was an option to give it 0 stars. read more

My personal experience with this store is that it is much cheaper than any store I've found in Bedford. Since it is just over the town line in Lexington and at least 10% cheaper, I make the trip. I find the store clean and well organized. They have a better than average selection but certainly nothing to rave about. They also have a decent selection of cigars. I read reviews on some sites that held me back from giving 5 stars. Let me start by saying I'm a middle aged white guy with a Mass License. I read that they do not card people in a systematic order. I heard they appear to be racist while carding. This isn't cool and the owner should be informed. Don't let an employee ruin a store for everyone. I read they will only accept Mass driver's licenses. This also strikes a nerve with me if this is true for two reasons. 1) We are the UNITED STATES. We work together. Why in the world would I as a business owner refuse to serve someone based on which state they came from? I have to admit that my brother in-law a couple years ago was up from Jersey for Xmas and couldn't buy. He was sent out to get some liquor and went to all three liquor stores in Bedford (not Busa) and was turned down at each with a valid NJ license. We are talking the week before Christmas here folks. He was also in his late 40's so I'm surprised he was even carded. 2) This may be the closest liquor store to Hanscom Air force Base. It would really tick me off if they don't serve military. Most of these people are going to be from out of state. These are the people who are fighting for our freedom. I can walk down to a store and buy items from a store owned by a private citizen because these people fight for our rights. I may be missing something here but I myself would love to server these people. I hope it is just a few isolated incidents or one bad employee because this aside, it's the best local store we have. read more

They've always been nice to me; they are very convenient with plenty of parking; and they have a good selection for their size. It seems like most of the bad reviews here are due to Massachusetts' generally unreasonable restrictions on alcohol sales. read more

I can sum up my two trips to this shop as follows: rude unhelpful staff and horrible small wine selection.

Everytime I have been here, I have been stared at and made to feel uncomfortable. There is a man who works there, he has a moustache and is short with a beer gut. He is a complete jerk. My license still states that I am from Woburn and he makes meniton of it when he sees it, and not in a funny joking way. Once I walked in and a woman rung me up, and he made mention to be careful of him because he is from Woburn. His facial expression wasnt that of a joking one either. Terrible customer service aside, their selections are nothing special. The beer selection is weak and there are better places for wine in the area. Your better off going across a street to the store next to Walgreen's. read more

Mediocre selection and no real support. Was looking for a specific bottle of wine and got a "yeah I have no idea." as a response. Other places I usually get-"Not sure we have that but what are you looking for?" or "You know what is a nice alternative..." I think that may be because those stores want to sell wine. Tried my luck with another employee and got a shrug of shoulders. Not sure that is what motivates Busa staff. Left without buying anything-no need to stop there again. read more

Not bad. Not great. They sell beer and wine and lottery tickets and cigs. About what you'd expect. Other reviewers who are complaining about Id issues should know that these stores are under constant surveillance and can be shut down for long periods of time if they are found in violation. They have to be strict in order to survive. read more
