Very good service. Three different employees asked us if we needed help and said if we needed any help to let them know. There isn't a ton of space in the store, but people distanced from each other due to COVID and we were able to obtain everything we wanted to. Very friendly employee at checkout, too. read more

Great, international staff with local or different perspectives on unique wine regions. Do not pressure you to seek their advice, but are super helpful when you want them to be. The nice Alsatian woman is particularly skillful in making a recommendation. They are very happy to make relevant suggestions/converse and always take cost into account. Best balance for not-pretentious yet very knowledgeable in area. Oh and if you read the reviews below, yes, every single employee was wearing a mask. Not an issue. read more

Multiple employees not wearing masks in the store... I've been a regular here for years. I'm in my thirties. They rarely ask me for my ID, but this time they did. So, I handed them my MA drivers license. Then, they asked me to remove my face mask so they could see my face! I reminded them that we are in the midst of a global pandemic, of course. Still, even the store owner himself insisted I remove my mask or he'd refuse to sell me alcohol. He actually wasn't even wearing one at the time. He then said to me "I've asked a bunch of people to take off their masks and you're the only one whose had a problem with it!". Maybe I'm just the only one who said something to him about it. Eventually, overcome with confusion and anger, I just stepped back and briefly removed my mask. I suppose that was to their satisfactory since they decided to proceed with the transaction of selling me their overpriced beer. After the incident, I felt wronged. I felt like my rights to public health were violated. I believe that businesses have a responsibility to help keep their customers safe; especially, in times such as these. And not only has Mystic Wine Shoppe lost my business, they've lost my respect. I will never return. read more

Most of the employees at the store are friendly. The owner, however, is rude. The selection is middling. If you want real variety, go to Belmont center. I may not frequent this place as much even if it is convenient because I like to be treated with friendliness. There are enough other places around. read more

Like other users have said, the selection of craft beer is decent, albeit pricy. There was a sign advertising a beer tasting over the weekend, which seems like a regular occurrence here. My one qualm? Being eyed like an underage teenager wandering through the store. As it was my first time at this location, I had to orient myself with with how the wine and spirits were organized. Yes, I may walk around aimlessly for a few minutes figuring out where everything is, but I don't need to be scrutinized for it. (Yes, I've aged well, and yes, here's my ID to prove it.) I may return again since the location is convenient, but I don't see myself making the trek when Berman's is a 5-minute walk from me. read more

Awesome neighborhood liquor store! The guy behind the counter- Eric- maybe the owner (?) was chatty and super friendly. He actually helped us bring our bags to the car! Prices are a little high compared to other places, but they do beer and wine happy hours on the weekends that definitely make up for the slightly inflated prices on the bottles. read more

It is the most convenient store to my house. In spite of the inflated prices i still chose this establishment. The selection is decent but that does not make up for the over all cold demeanor of the staff. They are rarely helpful and make this establishment a piss poor contender in comparison to its competition. read more

Up until tonight I've had decent experiences with this store. Their wine selection is good-ish, their beer selection is ho-hum compared to some other close by stores, but the convenience of the location was what was great about this place. However I don't think I'll be going back again after my awkward checkout experience tonight. It started off standard enough, I was carded, which is fine. But after that the clerk continued to stare me down. This didn't make me feel very comfortable, so I just tried to divert my attention elsewhere, which I'm sure just made him all the more suspicious of me... After bagging my items, the clerk then followed me to the door, and I can only assume was checking outside to make sure I wasn't going to hand off my items to some high school kids or something. It was just very strange and I felt like I was doing something wrong when I wasn't. For the record, I'm 32 and a new father. I'm sure I look very tired all the time and I don't react well to being stared at as if I'm a committing a crime that I'm not. So yeah, I just don't feel comfortable going back here. read more

Mystic Wine Shoppe offers a great selection of local and regional craft beers, and some truly great domestic and imported wines. For their stock alone I'd give this business five stars. Their customer service is another thing altogether. Although some employees are friendly and helpful, more often not the folks behind the counter are indifferent and abrupt, as if customers are an annoyance to them. Also, the way some of Mystic's employees handle money is outright rude (change should be handed back to the customer, not slapped down on the counter). I prefer to support small businesses that really seem to appreciate their customers, so I only use Mystic when I'm too lazy to jump into the car and go elsewhere. read more

This wine shoppe has a nice variety of different types of wines, beers, and other spirits. Customer service could be better. The reason being is because they often don't ask if I need help, yet ask other customers. I asked if they carried a Chardonnay in a certain brand. They tell me no, then I find it, a couple seconds later. I like that I can find a decent bottle of wine for under $10. Also, they have wine & beer tastings over the weekend. read more

Prices way too high. Owner is an arrogant ass. Some of staff are alright, but most are rude, slow and not too bright. I'd go down to Bermans. Prices are better and most of the staff is quick, efficient and much friendlier. Location is only thing this place has. He doesn't even have coke or juice or sodas or water. Hey, people of Arlington (Arlingtonians?) Wake up and smell the coffee porter! I just wanted to let you know that you have a fine wine shop right under your nose. See what I did there? I have been making the trek from North Cambridge to Mystic Wine Shoppe (OK, so my girlfriend may live in your town), but this is one nice place! My go-to beerhouse has always been Downtown Liquors in Davis Square, Somerville, which also has an extensive craft beer selection. While I usually have a focus on what I am going to pick up (girlfriend disagrees) I do take a look around and see what beer or wine may be of interest. Every time I have been to the shop (shoppe?) I have been asked "Can I find something for you", or "Are you being helped?" I mention this because other reviews have noted otherwise. That's why I am making my first ever Yelp review. Last weekend, I was looking at the craft beer selection and my girlfriend was doing her wine wandering. She was asked if she needed help. She did. Asked about a winery we visited in Napa - Stag's Leap - and was ushered to that wine. I was also greeted while checking out the beer. This level of customer service is a fairly new experience for me, comparing Davis Square, and my former days in Berkeley, CA. We haven't made any of the wine tastings yet, but the beer tastings have been awesome. It's great to be introduced to new beer, while learning something about each offering. I'm hoping that they will allow me to use my 16 ounce "Dogpatch Saloon" (San Francisco) glass at the next beer sampling. It's in my glove compartment, just in case. Yes, it's clean. I even made the hike to Mystic Beer Shoppe recently when my girlfriend was out of town. Since she travels so often, maybe I will find conversation with a nice Arlington girl over a beer or wine at the weekend tastings. The price is right! You should be able to pick me out in the store. I'll be the only one holding a 16 ounce sample glass. Pricing is on par with the other shops I have frequented, and I like the focus on the beer carousel of changing breweries and styles of beer. Many of the Jack's Abby beers are becoming favorites, especially the House Lager. Nice! Five stars! My girlfriend is not happy with this rating, though. I think she deservesa solid "9." Beautiful clean store. When one liquor store doesn't have what your looking for, it time to explore and visit others. I love the selection and having grown up in Arlington, was surprised at this stores location and it had exactly what I was looking for. This is one of the cleanest liquor stores I have ever seen! It also has a well stocked beer selection. Very easy to locate the wines and the huge array of different liquors. The owners and sales people are very helpful and nice. There is basically no parking, and it is tough to back out with the oncoming traffic on Mass Ave. Great location (next to Stop and Shop). However, the prices are MUCH MUCH higher here than Busa or Giles. The selection of white wines is limited-and what they do have it is not much of it. read more

Prices are a lot better at other shops on Mass Ave. Reason for the 1 star are the folks working there. Let me breathe, please. Just getting some beer. This place gets one star from me for two reasons...the main reason is the customer service is awful. I was in there earlier today with my girlfriend and the lady behind the counter was literally staring at us giving us dirty looks, I went up to the counter with a six pack and my girlfriend was still looking across the store and the woman rudely says loudly "I'm going to need to see both of your ID's" I totally understand asking for ID however I don't appreciate someone down right accusing me of doing something wrong for no reason. I'm 30 years old, this place is over priced (second reason) which would be passable with decent customer service however with miserable rude people who throw your change down on the counter and act like you're inconveniencing them by being there makes this place unbearable to give any business to. read more

I live by the store and have been coming here since it opened. I have always been treated very kindly and with respect, until my most recent visit yesterday. I bought some wine and (overpriced) blueberry vodka and walked back to my house. My brother wanted to purchase some beer, so I went back with him half an hour later. Instead of saying "nice to see you again" the owner treated me as if I was suddenly underage or trying to do something shady. He told me at the end of the second transaction that I wasn't allowed to come back again. That day? Forever? If you need to make more than one trip to the store in one day this is not the place to go! read more

This place is awful. I am 21 and have a valid Mass driver's license and they would not sell to me... because they saw my KID brother was in the car while I went in the store. Did it look like he was going to drink the 9.99 bomber of double IPA?!? Use common sense... The man at the cash register was snooty and was a jerk about the whole ordeal. Not to mention the prices were quite steep. Will not be back; Menotomy Wine on Broadway is much friendlier. read more
