TEP deserves more than 5 stars for the amazing start to finish service we experienced on our 7 day…read moreadventure to Peru to hike the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. From the time we signed up, to the time we boarded the plane to return home, TEP took care of every detail. We commented amongst ourselves that we felt like kids on vacation with our parents, as we didn't have to worry about any of the details - just show up and follow Neptali (our guide). From airport pickup in Cusco in luxury Mercedes vans where we were promptly served Coca tea to help with the altitude acclimation, to group dinners at amazing Peruvian restaurants, to historical tours and education on the history of the Inca - everything was covered and taken care of for us. And that was all before the amazing trek along the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu! Of course the trek itself was the highlight of the trip, and although it was extremely challenging for us, TEP's unbelievable attention to detail did not fail us on the trail. With nearly a 2:1 porter to trekker ration, our every need was met on the trail. We dined like kings every meal, and were consistently amazed with the quality (and nutritional appropriateness) of the food our chef and sous chef were able to put out with minimal kitchen conveniences. The thing I felt was most special about TEP's approach to this trip was the focus on gaining a cultural and historical appreciation for what we were experiencing. Every step along the way, we learned about the native people of Peru, the Inca civilization, the many ruins we came across, the vegetation we saw and how it was and is used, and the history of modern Peru. It was the trip of a lifetime, and have the help of The Explorer's Passage made it so much more enjoyable, and so much more memorable. The value of what they provide is amazing for the cost....rather, for the investment. I highly recommend them!

So much fascinating historical information that I can't wait to share with all my friends now; such a great group of fellow explorers; and all so perfectly run - well planned, perfectly on time, with a great variety of sights and insights for all types of travelers. Our trip to Italy with Perillo Tours was fantastic! Being it was our first time in Italy, we were a…read morelittle nervous but Perillo made everything so easy! We experienced the best that Venice, Padua, Florence, Siena and Rome had to offer! The best hotels in great locations, restaurants, transportation, site expertise and individual treatment when needed along with making new friends resulted in this tour being even better than we had hoped for. I would be remiss to not point out that our exceptional tour guide, Marco, was one of the highlights of the trip. We certainly would choose Perillo in the future for tours to other destinations but first we need to go back to Italy with them again!

Did the North Continental Tour, First they boast about offering 4 & 5 star Hotels, but the actual…read morerooms are far from that, but they were clean. For instance, one hotel gave us a room that looked like it was a utility room, a zig zag shaped room in a far corner of the building or an adjoining building converted into a hotel room, took us 15 minutes to find & reach it! Also had 3 large air intake vents over the bed. Then Perillo dropped the ball when I called their number, they should have gotten us out of that room at any cost immediately, but we had to wait for the next day or we had to pay $100 extra! Many had no grab bars or safety features in the bathrooms & showers & no anti slip maps or appliques, this should be a must for a tour company that caters to Seniors! Sink wouldn't drain, I had to adjust the pop up so I wouldn't have to wait for someone to come up & fix it late at night! Other things like no way to make tea or loose mirrors! No handrails for staircases & got slammed by faulty elevator doors many times! Hotel porters dealing with undesirable looking people right outside in front of the hotel, may have been innocent but not a good look or good feeling, & in that same hotel a fellow Perillo traveler's ring went missing from her room! Maybe that's why Perillo is now using different Hotels? Recommended places to eat were not that great, found small local places that were better on our own. Felt rushed at times, hard to even take pictures at times. Offer optional tours but then because of minimums couldn't do some of them, not what I wanted to find out about after the fact! Also it seemed like the most important thing of the tour was about gratuities, constant reminders, made many of us feel uncomfortable & not because we're cheap, but because we're grown ups & know how to tip for good service! The local tour guides were excellent(especially Anna) & they commanded a nice tip on their own without any reminders! Also at times(many of us) felt like we were sorta on our own even when the tour director was present, like when crossing streets with traffic & telling us to use google maps! I would hate to think what would happen if someone on this tour didn't have a smartphone, which some Seniors don't, some just have basic cellphones! AIso, I did fill out a feedback page to Perillo & have yet to hear from them!

The owner/manager Dean was not helpful or apologetic at all! They oversold their tickets and left us literally hanging. We ended up taking what we thought was Uber but what was a Mexican car service and it cost 6 people $42. I saw the owner Dean when we were getting in the taxi and told him that he should be picking up the cab fee. All he could do was laugh in my face and say no sale. this is how Funaway aka Sterling operates their bus service to Atlantic City. Oh and by the way For no reason at all Denise the woman who sells rockets had an attitude when I got on the bus at 179th street and told Ron the bus driver that I was a bitch and giving her a hard time because I questioned the fact that they made everyone pay for a cab after they bought their bus tickets and then had to leave Burger King in Yonkers by cab to get the bus at 179th street to go to ac. Is this any way to run a business? Shame on you Dean, the owner of Funaway bus Shame on yo Denise fit your attitude problem. You took away all the fun of being able to take a bus to AC. Oh and by the way had a broken seat on the bus and there was nowhere else for me to sit. They only have 2 buses W
