In the end, it not only wasted our time and thousands of dollars, but most distressing, we got stuck with a nanny who made us and our daughter deeply unhappy for several months. My husband and I were trying to secure a nanny, and the first that we hired through Family Helpers had misled us on a few critical items. It turned out the nanny did NOT want to work with a newborn, showed up reeking of cigarettes, and was mean to our daughter. We asked Family Helpers to send us more candidates. Family Helpers repeatedly sent us candidates who could not meet our scheduling or budget needs. In short: * Family Helpers' vetting failed as it sent us a nanny unwilling to work with 2 kids * Family Helpers' vetting failed as it sent us a candidate unwilling to work within our discussed budget (i.e., less than $25/hour) * FamilyHelpers' vetting failed as it sent us a candidate unwilling to work the hours that we stated we were looking for * FamilyHelpers' vetting failed as it recommended a nanny who could not detect something was off when our daughter, who she had gotten to know over 8 weeks, lay on the couch for hours with a very high fever. Additionally, we were frustrated at Family Helper's guidance to increase our budget to $25/hr, which is 25%-33% more than peers using Family Helpers service, what several strong candidates we evaluated were willing to accept, or what we see online. Even more hurtful, Family Helpers blamed us for not being clear about the hours / pay, even when faced with email evidence to the contrary. After weeks and weeks of no good candidates, Family Helpers audaciously recommended we simply fire the current (bad) nanny, with no coverage at all. I was flabbergasted--what kind of plan was this, for two working parents? In the end, we found a few wonderful nannies through friends. My husband and I requested a substantial refund given Family Helpers failed to send vetted candidates that met our criteria and we paid $1,600 severance to one of their nannies, but Family Helpers refused. Family Helpers refunded us 50% of our fee, whereas we thought 95% would have been appropriate. I am a big supporter of local businesses, but I am a bigger advocate for the parents and families in my community. It is for this reason I share our recent experience with Family Helpers.

We were informed that Susan was available and reliable as a resource .... we found this to be untrue. Susan was always out of the office and the information she shared with us and the referrals was incongruous. Her nannies were extremely inexperienced and they were requesting a salary comensurate with an experienced well trained nanny. I would never recommend Family Helpers to help find someone to care for the most treasured people in the world to us, our children. In addition, Susan charges a consultation fee and their consultation services were a falasy!! Everything Susan said during her limited "consultation" did not match the qualities the nannies portrayed or the expectations the nannies had during the interview!! Run as fast as you can!!!

I was so very disappointed with that charter school. So hopefully Family Life Academy is nothing like HEKETI. NO ONE should send their kids there if they truly care and love them. I took my kids out of Public School and they were making such great grades there. I still wanted something better for my kids. But I was not at all satisfied with HEKETI. Parents make sure you take your time and choose the right school for your kids. My kids were so very unhappy at that Heketi Charter school. So I'm crossing my fingers and looking for a better school.

NYS lists them as "pending revocation" since December 2018. They are up for renewal in October 2019. I know from our own experience that it can be hard to find quality care, but please do your diligence before enrolling here or continuing to entrust this facility with the welfare of your children. Their compliance failures are overwhelming.

Parents be warned: do your homework on this facility's incident and violation history before…read moreconsidering enrolling your children here. My son was badly injured at this facility and they did not seek urgent medical care. We've taken our story to the press to make sure parents in the local community were made aware. A simple Google search of this facility will show you the full story, covered by WCBS, NY Post, USA Today, Journal News/LoHud, News12, HLN, and several more. My sons accident uncovered a sad reality - this facility had been operating all year with over 30 violations against it. We had no idea. I've since become very familiar with how to view daycare violations on OCFS.com. As of January 4th, 7th and 8th of 2019, the state of New York logged even more violations against TLE Dobbs Ferry. They now total to 83 violations. In my quest to find new daycare for my son, it appears most daycare centers in our area don't have more than 5 violations over the span of several years, some which have been in operation for 20+ years. Compare that to 83 violations at this facility from November 2017-January 2019. They should be ashamed of themselves. I wish we had known about these violations sooner. We would have removed my son from the program immediately. Since we've spoken to the press, at least a dozen parents and former staff members have contacted my husband and I directly about their own negative experiences at this facility, ranging from injuries to their children requiring stitches and leaving scars; to a 4 year old child being called an "idiot" to her face by one of the head teachers; to another teacher telling the pre-K class about her brother in jail on a daily basis; to teachers being encouraged by management to manipulate the children's daily performance sheets to make it appear they are learning skills at a faster rate than they truly are. Ask yourself, would you want you child being watched by this facility? If you look up the violation history of this center at OCFS.com, you'll see they even failed to perform background checks on a number of the staff. I won't besmirch everyone at TLE Dobbs Ferry. My son had a few really great teachers who cared for him dearly in the 12 months he attended this facility. Unfortunately for my son, none of them were present when he was injured. Had even one of them been, I'd like to think his injury would have been handled better. Many of these teachers have since left TLE and gone on to better facilities. I can't encourage parents enough to do their homework. Please use the resources available by the state of New York and look up the violation history of any daycare facility you are considering for your child. You can also contact the Westchester Childcare Council for assistance. They will even perform a daycare search for you based on where you live, and will give you all the information you need on individual facilities.

Unfortunately, the service provided on our wedding day fell significantly short of our expectations…read moreand, more concerningly, was both unsafe and unprofessional. Safety Concerns The driver attempted to overfill the bus, trying to fit the entire group of over 120 people despite the bus not having enough seats. I personally had to intervene to ensure people were removed from the bus to avoid passengers standing in the aisles. After the fact, we learned that some guests were forced to sit on each other's laps, and the driver reportedly drove erratically to the destination causing two of our guests, who were NOT overserved, to vomit right when they got off. The safety of our guests was compromised, and the shuttle service was managed in a way that was neither professional nor responsible. Service Issues Once I managed to get people off the first shuttle and ensured the driver returned for the second trip (as per the contract/itinerary and what we paid for), the remaining guests were finally able to board. However, the second shuttle was only about 25% full, which underscores that there was no reason to overfill the first bus in such an unsafe manner. Impact on Our Event Because of these issues, my wife and I missed a significant portion of our after-party, as we had to deal with ensuring our guests were transported safely--something that should have been entirely your responsibility. Overall, your service was unprofessional and unsafe. It appeared as though the driver was trying to avoid making the required second trip by overcrowding the first shuttle, which we found unacceptable. The Result After flagging our feedback, not only did we not receive any form of compensation for the poor and unsafe service - they offered a $500 gift card for us to use them again which is wild to assume we'd use that service again.

They never notified the company to pick up the equipment for10months. When they sent a nurses aid, she couldnt do the work, and when i told hospice this, the woman who sent the aid became very defensive, and retaliating. I was very upset with the lack of care and professionalism. In my fathers case, they ordered a bunch of old equipment that was not needed and then the company sends huge bills for thousands of dollars, and make threats to place liens on bank accounts and property....what a scam. Never in my whole life have i Experienced such a terrible organization that had ties with another company where they order used medical equipment without any concent or authorization on equipment that was old and not required, yet hospice ordered it and then we get hit with insane bills and threats of liens when there was clearly no reason to send this stuff in the first place by hospice. Then hospice left right afterwards and the equipment was never picked up for over 10 months and both organizations failed to or intentionally left this equipment in order to run up a huge bill without any notice of any issues regarding payments or understanding of what was going on up until now. The same used type of equipment can be found on ebay for anywhere between 10 to 100 bucks or less....what a scam.

My mother died in 2018, and I should have posted this review then, but it was too hard…read more Ed Fox went above and beyond to handle all the arrangements for Mom's burial. She died on a Friday in NYC and that happened to be the same weekend that the NYC computer system that handled death certificates was getting updated. Apparently, that update had been tried before and crashed, so there was some question about whether the computerized death certificate could be issued by the city in time for the burial we had scheduled for Tuesday. The old system was shut down before Mom's death certificate was issued and we had to wait at least a day (or maybe it was even until Sunday) to see whether the city's new computer system would even function. Meanwhile, the hospice doctor didn't want to issue a hand-written death certificate (which was the fall-back) if the new system was going to work. Ed kept us well-informed and he was even prepared to drive to New York himself to get the handwritten death certificate if that was the only way that the burial could happen on time. Fortunately, the new computer system didn't crash, the death certificate was issued, and the funeral and burial could proceed as planned. Everything went smoothly at the temple (where we held the reception and the funeral) and at the cemetery. Fox did well by us at a very difficult time.
