I got nothing that resembled enchiladas. -Enchiladas are not smothered in cheese cheese to the point that you can't see the enchiladas -Enchiladas do not have big slices of onions and jalapeños inside. -Enchiladas do not have cubed chicken. Really conflicted about this place and probably will not return. The chicken enchiladas were prepared odd and stuffed with majority of peppers and onions and cubed chicken. Also, the chili was not chili at all. It was ground beef in a Tupperware with beans next to it, and melted cheese on top. If I wanted a taco bowl I would have ordered that, but I wanted chili and it didn't taste good either. This quiet location is packing some awesome treats! Came here on a whim after getting a car wash and man was I surprised. Our waitress was super nice even made us some of her own hot sauce which was so damn good. We got the steak bowls and they were so tasty. The red sangria was some of the best I've had in a restaurant too. I def wanna come back here when it's warmer out and take advantage of the outside seating. Cool spot for stay in or take out. We usually take out. My kids like the tacos and the chicken and rice dish and I like the shrimp quesadillas. My husband loves the burritos. Their food is well seasoned and fresh. I think this spot is one of the better ones in the area. The family that runs it is nice and the brunette teen cashier is great! read more

Great take out! I do a fajita so that I can have left overs! Comes with plenty of protein, rice, beans, guac, sour cream, pico and tortillas. Hidden gem. I really love this place. New owners are great. It was a lovely surprise that they were open on a Sunday! Prices are reasonable, especially for the portions you receive. Yesterday my family and I ordered an abundance of food. I had enough for 2 full meals on my own. Everyone had leftovers! I ordered a shrimp and jack cheese quesadilla. I would probably skip this next time. The shrimp were super over cooked. But, they were flavorful none-the-less. I also ordered the nachos. They were the best I have ever had, by far. Their black beans are incredible, and I don't even like black beans. Today I got to eat my leftover tacos. One steak and one chicken. Both delicious. The steak was my favorite. We usually order fajitas by the pound and it's always good. Today we tried the steak fajita dinner. It was delicious, however they did not give us the wraps to make the actual fajitas. We also ordered a dinner with one chicken chimichanga and one cheese enchilada. I'm not sure what they gave me. The chicken in the chimichanga was delicious and seasoned well, but the chimichanga was dry overall. The cheese was not melted either. The "enchilada" was not good or looked like the pictures I've seen on here at all. It was a small corn tortilla folded in half with shredded cheese inside, not even melted. Not worth $32 at all! Burrito Mariachi in Wantagh, a Gloppy Mess. 2 stars and that's stretching it, add a half star if you are looking for strictly Vegetarian. Saw it on Yelp, tried it, once is enough. Oh yes and GPS doesn't tell you quick enough to turn into the parking lot once arrived, you end up at the out exit on a main road off Sunrise Highway making a turn into this little lot of stores. 3:30pm, we go in and see a sign in clear view, Pulled Pork and bacon bits. Op they are sold out. Order Empanadas appetizer. Get two with chop meat filled. Eh. They were, ok. Ordered something with scrimp - not sure what it was but you can't tell from looking at it, ordered Nachos with cheese. This was all to go. A mistake there as well. Ok take it home and heat it up, Sorta. (see Pictures) The two Asian young women worked the Mexican store, one said she is the owner and the place has been there 15 years. She looked too young to be an original owner. She was so quick to take money that I had not even finished the order before paying her the partial amount for the total of 20 something that it cost us. I asked and she replied oh yes, we have takeout, can order by phone or fax and we get many orders to go. Ok. Lots of words but not from what I saw, as no one else was there nor were any phone or faxes going off. The only sound was the blaring TV. The place is basic to sit and eat in. (see pix) Maybe it gets locals. But if they serve the food in the shape, we got it; perhaps the locals are ok with glop. Where is it in that Food 101 about it looking nice on the plate, certainly, not here. If you should go here, I suggest being very careful maneuvering your car. I was pleasantly surprised. Decent Mexican, good pricing & no msg, lard or preservatives. Cool! We got the "big enchilada" with cheddar & green sauce . Always had a great meal here. Our family has been coming here for many years, and have never been disappointed. Wow finally tried this place. Had a beef burrito and it was so delicious. Not too big like some places but filling. My hubs got some chips and salsa and he does not like cilantro. He was very pleased the salsa had no cilantro. He got a chicken burrito and was able to eat the chips and salsa along with the whole burrito. The chips were good but I couldn't eat too many and finish the burrito. I can't wait to try some other items on the menu. The place looks like a Chinese takeout place from outside but inside it's rather big. A few tables and the counter where you order. We took a menu home for next time. I am not a fan. I ordered some takeout last night because this place had fairly decent reviews and I was quite disappointed. For starters I ordered 3 beef tacos and I grilled chicken hard tacos. By the time i git home the beef tacos hard shell was mush, the chicken taco shell was still hard, but the flavors were just okay. I prefer Taco Bell. I also ordered the cheese enchilada which came in a platte with rice, beans, tomatoes, guacamole and sour cream. I ate everything but the enchiladas. They were just a pile mush with a ton of rubbery cheese, not the enchiladas I was hoping for. On the side we had rice and beans, which were decent and guacamole, which was okay. The tortilla chips were crisp and fresh, they were the best thing I had from this place. Sorry to say I will not be returning. read more

Delivery person spoke no english and I dont speak Chinese. After speaking with them on the phone, they said they must of misunderstood us but the only problem was we ordered online and the dinner was on our online receipt so it wasnt a language problem. This is a Tex-Mex restaurant using the layout of a Chinese restaurant. Everything is exactly like a chinese food restaurant except for the menu items. It's Wantagh's finest example of the cultural melting pot America has become! The food is good. I've had the enchillada which is on par with most enchiladas that I've had a more typical Tex-Mex or traditional Mexican restaurants. Uhhhggg....How do I say this?...It's a Chinese restaurant that switched menus & started making burritos. Picked up two burritos to go. Place only had one table sitting in dining area. Was greeted by two inexperienced teenage girls. Asian lady in the back barking directions at the staff, making the girls even more awkward & nervous. Waited 15 minutes for the order. A bit long for such a small order in an empty place. $28 for a veggie burrito, a buffalo chicken bowl & a bottle of water. My burrito had so much oil, it poured out of the aluminum foil it was wrapped in & leaked thru the bag & onto my pants. Needless to say, it fell apart as soon as I picked it up to bite it. The burrito bowl was made up of small bits of chicken smothered in sour cream, hot sauce, rice & a whole jar of jalapeño slices lol. It was cheap garbage. Like I said, it's a Chinese restaurant version of Mexican food. They didn't put any utensils, napkins or even the bottle of water in the bag lol. Not a single authentic thing. read more

The employees decided to close the store more than 2 hours early. They just sat inside doing nothing. Refused to take orders through the drive through, in store, or through DoorDash, and wouldn't answer the phone. Not even a sign in the door saying they were closing early. I can't believe I live about 5 minutes away from this place and haven't eaten here until recently. What looks like an old Chinese food place, is really a hidden world of cheaply priced tacos, quesadillas, burritos and everything in between. Where on earth can you get a $2 steak taco nowadays? (TBell is not an answer, ha.) And you may think that with cheap prices comes cheap quality. But I beg to differ! This small spot produces delicious bites with quality ingredients. Their steak and chicken soft tacos were just the right pick-me-up I needed throughout my day. The meat was well-seasoned and overall great in taste. And they come with two salsas... green and red. It could have been a bit hotter but that's just me. Overall I think my total waiting time was about 5 minutes. Super speedy and the owners were incredibly friendly. These are plenty in NYC and starting to pop up on Long Island scattered here n' there and boy does this make me happy for one, my job just relocated back to LI,.. two I just love the food made fresh down to the pressed tortilla's. They are carry the same standard fare from Tacos,Burritos, Salad In Taco shells all freshly prepared nothing under any hot lamp here.
