My go-to favorite - Fresh Mexican. Love their salsas and sauces, nice variety of sweet & savoury. You can't beat the authentic flavours

A fast food meal that tastes fresh and leaves you with a "little" less guilt for eating fast food :P The burritos are very tasty and full of flavour. The only thing that sucks for me is all of their salsas have cilantro and I am one of those people where cilantro tastes like soap, I can't do it. My wife and I grabbed the Southwest buttermilk chicken for our kids and obviously tried one. They use dark meat so the chicken was juice and quite good, the breading lacked flavour. For dessert, we always grab one of these cookies each. They are unbelievably good and addictive. I am not much of a dessert after dinner type person unless I am eating at Burrito Libre. read more

This establishment is now Texan Approved! I came up from Texas for a few days to visit family and attend a funeral. I was fully prepared to hate this place since we have some world-class burrito joints and Tex-Mex where I come from (we are the "Tex" part after all). I was hungry though, and there were limited options near my hotel. I drearily trudged at least 400 feet through a frozen hellscape to get here. Please note that what I call a frozen hellscape is what you refer to as normal February weather. On the other hand, what my Canadian family calls "Thermonuclear Spicy," I call normal food. Thus I was expecting bland mush. I was delightfully surprised. The burrito I had was actually pretty good, if a little runny. The best part though was the guacamole. It was nice and fresh with enough salt and onions to make it flavorful but not overseasoned. I was surprised that the spiciness level was about equal to back home, and possibly even enough to induce "ring-sting" when I sit down and think for a bit tomorrow. The burrito snob in me won't let me give this place five stars, since it just isn't on the same level as places like Cabo Bob's back home, but grading on a Canadian curve I would say it was great, and certainly better than expected! read more

I always stay away from these kinds of places after many disappointing visits to much burrito, but my friend convinced me this place is way better. He was so right! They had veggie options (tofu not just vegetables) for by BF and they cooked me fresh to order shrimp! And SO MANY SHRIMP! it was the first time eating at a fast food type place where I didn't feel that they were counting every gram of product that went into my food. Everything was insanely fresh, their salsas even taste like they are made in house! I will definitely be coming back! read more

I was running late and needed something super quick, so opted to try Burrito Libre on skip... They were super quick- like 10-15 min quick, and that was the best part of it, unfortunately. Seems the Southwest Buttermilk fried chicken had been extremely overcooked , it was pretty brown and dry inside, while the coating was soggy- and I dont mean soggy like it gets a bit soft after being in warm container with steam, I mean soggy like he picked it up and it fell off in chunks. The burrito bowl we got was extremely soggy as well, looked/tasted as though the rice had not been drained when it was put into the bowl. There were also banana peppers added in when we didn't ask for any. We threw almost everything out because we couldn't eat it, so just kind of a waste of money for us this time. I WILL say though, we got chips and guac with the inedible chicken, and they were delicious, so I'm really hoping this was a one-off for the restaurant? If not, maybe just stick to the chips and burrito wraps (I've heard they're alright). read more

This is definitely one of my favorite places for fast food. They usually have a great deal of the day on promoting different burrito. The last time I was there I had the Chipotle Citrus chicken burrito it was so tasty! Those of you who I've never been here it's similar to a Subway in that you get to choose what goes into your burrito. It's all fresh ingredients and easy to get to just off of Sherwood Drive. Viva la Burrito! The closest thing to the burritos I fell in love with in San Francisco. These are burrito's the size of a baby's arm. Delicious. You can choose all sorts of different options, although I always go plain old Beef burrito with the standard stuff. They have 4 different types of salsa you can choose from, as well you can buy beer in bottles! I had no problems with the service, and found it was exemplary! Why did it get 4 stars? Beer available at a fast food place Lots of food for the money Great service Lots of free parking around. No wait What does it need to get 5 stars? Make a better combo option. It was a late night and I was hungry but at the same time trying to avoid greasy fast food joints which brought me here to this place. Wow was it ever good! I don't often make the mmm mmm good noise when eating but one bite of my honey sriracha chicken burrito and I didn't care who was around to hear me. It was positively stuffed with some of the freshest ingredients I have ever tasted. The salsa they have here is delicious and not so hot that it overwhelms the other flavors. I think I paid $8.79 for the burrito and a bottled beverage and I can't remember any other time that I was able to get something that good for under the $10.00 mark. The staff here made an already great experience even better with how polite and efficient they were. I was in here at 9:15 and despite the fact they were closing in 45 minutes they encouraged me to stay and eat my food even though I offered to take it to go to get out of their hair so they could do their closing procedures and not have to worry about cleaning up after me. Looking for a quick, tasty meal that will leave you full (sometimes more than full)? Burrito Libre is a good choice. This fast food Mexican restaurant is set up similar to a Subway. You order from a set number of items on their menu, then customize from there. To date, I've only sampled their burritos and the sampling has been good. From pulled pork to chipotle chicken, the ingredients are fresh and tasty. Decide on the size of the burrito (regular or large - large will leave you with a food baby unless you're a teenager or someone with a hollow appendage), then choose your meat. My personal favourite is the chipotle chicken. Now you get to stuff your burrito with a multitude of tasty ingredients. From rice to beans to peppers to an assortment of salsas, there's something everyone will like. Don't forget the guacamole, you pay a little extra but it's worth it! Burrito Libre also offers nice little paper bags of tortilla chips and salsa. The chips are fresh (must be deep-fried in-store) and tasty, with a hint of lime and salt. The decor is pleasing, for a fast food joint and the bathrooms are clean. The staff has always been very pleasant and they work quickly. If you're in a rush, this is a definite plus. If you're looking for a quick meal and like Southwestern/Mexican food, check out Burrito Libre. It's a great change from burgers and subs. read more

I've been coming to this location almost since it first opened and have continued to go there as often as I can, for a couple reasons. First and foremost, it's hands-down the best burrito I've ever had, without exaggeration. The salsa has just the right amount of onions and cilantro, the guac (and everything else, for that matter) is always fresh and consistently prepared, the chips that come with the chips and salsa are lightly dusted with lime salt and taste good enough to eat by themselves, the chipotle dressing is to die for, and they're always introducing new types of meats and flavourings to 'spice it up' so to speak. I find myself craving these burritos at least once a week. They also have tacos, quesadillas and burritos in a bowl to add some variety. They even have a kid's menu! Secondly, the price is quite reasonable. A regular burrito with a drink combo will probably run you about $13, and the food is well worth every penny. Add the friendly and attentive staff (they always thank you as you walk out the door, no matter what), the convenient location just across from the mall and library, the perpetually clean and relaxed atmosphere and the fact that it's open late most nights, and I would never dream of going somewhere else for my burrito fix. Like Mucho Burrito, Taco Bell or Tacotime? I guarantee you'll fall head over heels for Burrito Libre. read more

I am a taco fanatic, and these in my opinion are the best most flavourful, fast food tacos in the Edmonton/Sherwood Park area. Staff is really nice, and if you go as much as my wife and I they tend to remember you. They will always know to put fresh shrimp on the stove when my wife walks in. read more

It's a fast food place. Their regular burritos are $8 and they are filling. You have a choice of white or whole wheat shell. You can then pick your starch (rice, potatoes, beans)... I go with the black beans and some grilled veggies. Then you can pick your meat, chicken, shredded pork or ground beef. Then you pick additional toppings such as corn, shredded cheese or hot peppers. You can add sour cream or salsa. Guacamole is extra. Then you choose romaine lettuce or cabbage. The meat portion is not that big but the beans make up for it. Pretty filling and quite healthy and won't sit heavy in your gut like a hamburger meal. Staff were pleasant and fast. Their hot sauce is a sweet one which wasn't my favourite but they have a ranch hot sauce which I didn't try. They have other food such as tacos. Two thumbs up. read more

Worst Burrito I've ever had. Flavourless. Bland. Underwhelming. Huge disappointment for lunch.

Been eating here for 7 or 8 years. Still the best burrito in the city. Wish they would expand faster. I'd like to make it a food truck. Guacamole is fresh not packaged like other leading brand burrito joints. The corn is great! The portion is beyond an excellent deal. They have great tofu option. Ok Not great. Expensive. Still far better than "McFood". Personally I find Mucho Burrito a better value. Fresh enough. Haven't been in months...drive by often and decide..."I'd rather go somewhere else". All that being said, it is certainly worth giving a them a shot. Took the 25 odd km drive from home to this place, only because there would be better parking compared to the one near the UofA campus. First timer to Burrito Libre. Craving for the tex-mex food, having tasted Baja Fresh, Chipotle on the south side of the border. Being a vegetarian - limited with single choice. Tried the burrito and Quessidila (sic). It was flavorful with the southwestern sauce. Would have prefered more healthier choices other than Gaucamolle. Not bad and definitely an option. But not in the same league as Baja fresh or the Chipotle. read more

My first time enjoying "Burrito Libre" was ordering it from skip the dishes, I don't have much to say about the dining experience there. You are offered a minimal amount of ingredients that you can stuff into your burrito but they are quite unique with the flavours of there proteins! There salsas and sauces are also unique and flavourful. For the guacamole and chips I think they need a little bit more seasoning (more salt and pepper). The price is pretty decent and on the cheaper side for Sherwood park (10.00$ for a large burrito). I enjoy eating from the place but it needs to have more selection of toppings that are enjoyed in a burrito to compete with the other Mexican restaurants. read more

I live in North Carolina, and I'm here for the summer. I eat at Chipotle Mexican Grill all the time in NC. While Burrito Libre is not as good as the revered Chipotle, it's my favorite fast food in Sherwood Park. Only $8 for a big burrito bowl that I get two meals out of! Plus it's reasonably healthy and pretty tasty. The ladies that work at the front are pretty friendly too. The only thing this place needs to stop doing is piling a ton of lettuce in at the end. read more

I've been here about 5 times and all 5 times I've had the same person serving me. An asian lady with glasses. She is not pleasant and always tries to anticipate/manipulate what you should order. Instead of asking "What size would you like?" She instead asks "Do you want a large size?". Then, when preparing the burrito, she'll already have her hand ready to scoop the item she thinks you're going to get. I feel so rushed and unprepared (plus she doesn't explain all the options) that it's like you have to decide that right that second. This past time I went, she asked me if I wanted cheese, and before I could even answer, she had already scooped a spoonful onto my burrito. Turns out i did NOT want cheese, so she's feebly trying to pick out the tiny crumbs of cheese from my burrito (which is impossible), so she asks me if a little bit of cheese is ok. At this point I'm annoyed. I don't have time for her to recreate a new one for me since I'm on a short lunch break. I say yes and she proceeds to cover up the cheese with more salsa and corn. What the heck? In any case, she needs to stop rushing people and herself and let people calmly make a decision about their topping without her pressurre tactics. read more
