Yummy crispy chicken. Delicious fresh bisquits. Tasty sides. I like this chicken more than kfc or popeyes. If you want some good fried chicken...this place wont disappoint. The chicken is fresh, crispy and pretty large. It has more flavours and more of a kick than popeyes chicken. Those bisquits though bring this place to next level dining. They made mine fresh out of the oven and were worth the wait. They tasted homemade and were better than red lobsters famous bisquits. I also had the jalapeno poppers which were awesome with my fried chicken. They really complimented the chicken well. Place opened up with little hype...luckily for me this means hardly no lines. Which is a bonus bc I am craving this chicken just 2 days after trying it. I can see addictions occuring and i dont think my waistline has the give to pursue this addiction. Although every bite is definetly worth it. Yum

Fast food review! Food is decent. I prefer the sandwiches. The Mexicana is my favourite by far. It's spicy and tasty. It's hot. If you do not like hot this is not the sandwich for you. It is also very large. Because it's a chicken breast sometimes they are bigger or smaller, but always a good amount of food. The service is good. The drive thru is terrible. Go inside. It's much better, plus you will likely be waiting and there is no reason to be idling for fresh food!

Easy to find via Google Maps. Lots of parking right infront of the store or in the Save On Foods parking lot adjacent. Not busy at 5:30pm on a weeknight, but as you can see from the pictures chicken is made Well in advance and just kept on a warming plate. This is good because I was out of there in under 7 minutes. BUT the food Quality definitely suffered. Chicken tender was just warm and as expected a little rubbery but the breading was nice and still quite crispy. Mexicana sandwich was Spicy. Hotter than KFC spicy chicken burger for sure. Not enough chips on it for me but nice combination of lettuce, onion, tomato. Chicken was a little dry for my taste as it has a large centre and didn't fit well into the bun but I guess that's because it's real chicken? Honey busicut was good. Sweet, moist, warm. These would be the perfect last minute addition to any potluck or BBQ. Overall this place is good in a pinch but not my favorite for fast food chicken in the city.

Nowadays, there are so many fast food chicken restaurants to choose from. I enjoy eating Church's original chicken because I find the meat juicy and the skin nice and crispy. I appreciate that the chicken isn't too salty. The crispy fries are also a great side. The brown gravy is average. I haven't tried the different sauces with the chicken yet. The apple pie is typical to what you find in fast food restaurants. My favourite menu side are the honey butter biscuits. I highly recommend. They are delicious!! They have just the right amount of crunch when you bite into them. Sometimes I think about coming here just for some biscuits. Overall, I enjoy Church's chicken. It's a relatively new fast food restaurant in Edmonton and it's now one of my favourites.

Ordered drive through. There was a vehicle ahead of us. After that vehicle left, they then took our order, then drove up to the window. We had to wait a while before the person showed up and said the chicken will take 15-20 mins. I looked inside was one person waiting, but otherwise, the place was empty! We finally got our food, got home, only to see that they didnt give us the large gravy we ordered and paid for! Chicken was tasteless. At first bite of the spicy one, it was soooo salty, then you dont taste anything else. There was "hotness" to it. But that's it. The original is tasteless, not even salty. The only thing good is the size of the chicken and the texture. The chicken was perfectly cooked and coated. The biscuits are different from popeyes. Cant even compare. This one is lighter/airy in a way, whereas popeyes is dense. This has a sweet note to it from the honey butter. I wont come back here. For this price point, i'd rather get popeyes or kfc; or better yet, Seoul fried chicken!

Kind of fun to try it after seeing it only online.

It is tough not to compare Church's with a KFC, Popeye's or local gems like Seoul Fried Chicken. The menu and offerings felt very much like Popeye's with combo sets that allow an upgrade to a platter for an extra price. I order the two piece combo with jalapeño bombers and a pop. And, of course, it comes with the honey butter biscuit. Church's was only OK for me. I found the chicken was overcooked and crispy in all the wrong ways. It lacked flavour and was missing a marinated flavour that helps elevate the meat. I went spicy which I could only taste on the thigh which it turns out was so much better than the drumstick. What I found was the skin was missing the light, fluffy crisp that can make it seem part of the meat and improving each bite (Popeye's, perhaps) rather than a piece of fat still stuck to the meat (I'm talking about you, KFC). I didn't notice the the top of the biscuit so I accidentally started at the bottom. I found it bland and flavourless... until I turned it over! That honey butter saved it. However, I would rather have a biscuit that tasted good all the way through. They just just roll the whole thing in honey butter. It would be an improvement. The jalapeño blasters were good but at four in the bag, I may go with another side next time. Since this is a review for an Edmonton location, I would recommend you come and support a new restaurant in town. See if this chicken is right for you.

First Chruch's Chicken in Alberta! So awesome that they have picked Edmonton to be the first city to open this franchise. Our meal was hot and fresh. We went a little bit earlier than lunch time to try this. It wasn't too busy because I think it's still the soft opening. Chicken- we had two choices of flavours: original or spicy. We picked both to compare and the spicy wasn't all that spicy; nonetheless, the chicken was crispy and delicious. The spicy flavour was more of a black pepper spice. Honey Butter Biscuits - were really delicious! It reminded me of pancakes and syrup. Jalapeno Cheese Bombers are my FAVORITE!! These croquette looking things were actually spicy and it was filled with movie theater nacho melty cheese. These were so good that we ordered it again when we finished the first bag lol $3.99 for the medium, it did not disappoint. Lastly, the fries dipped in gravy was manificent. If you love crinkle cut fries then you'll love the fries here. I will definitely be making my way back to the north side of Edmonton to eat this again . I am very interested in trying their burgers.

3 piece combo (regular or spicy) with choice of side, honey biscuit (so damn good) and a drink $10.99 plus tax.

This was the most flavorless and tasteless chicken I have ever eaten. I asked for original recipe. Perhaps that was my mistake.

The sauce is sweet with a bit of heat but too sweet for my taste & too much of it. The poutine was a good amount of cheese & gravy but the fries were undercooked. The bubble tea was not good. All powder & the pearls tasted stale. The service sadly was not good. The one man who was there was very nice & polite so this isn't his fault but he was the only one there. There was one customer eating when I went in, then after ordering a couple came in, then a group of 3. I waited just over 15 minutes. It would have been nice to sip on the bubble tea while I waited but you can't have one person taking phone orders, counter orders, cooking, & making bubble teas & not have something suffer. I don't know if they're short staffed or someone is just cheap but there should have been another person there. I would go back & try it again with a different sauce & maybe ask for it on the side. A last note, their website would not open on both my iPhone & iPad.

His order was being prepared so I didn't mind waiting. Mainly because I wanted to see their procedure for a gluten free sandwich. The staff member made my Italian sub first and just before I was about to say..can you use a fresh pair of gloves, she removed the current pair and put on new. The gluten free bun was placed onto a separate toasting foil wrap, so not to contaminate and the whole assembly was done on a separate table. Which was awesome. Before I ordered I went onto the app itself to check out some of the sauces, meats and toppings. Love how firehouse puts everything on their site so you can make sure what has gluten and what doesn't. I thanked the young lady for taking the extra precautions to make the GF sandwich and was on my way. Do I recommend the Griesbach location for safety concerns...you bet I do!!
