This was my first time here in years, and it was great! I ordered carne asada super burritos for my boyfriend and I. They were filled with all the good stuff, meat cheese, beans, rice, & avocado. My family loves this place. We like to go on Thursdays and get the special. The Thursday special is two delicious tacos, amazing re-fried beans and rice. Best place ever! I used to work right next to here and go quite frequently like multiple times per week. They're very reasonably priced with big portions and delicious authentic Mexican food. I've never had a bad experience in the 8 or so years I've been going here. I've been to like every Mexican food restaurant in Dixon fairfield Vacaville and vallejo and I rank them pretty high in terms of how good their food is. Plus very consistent always delicious and super friendly staff and it's clean. I will probably go get a carne Asada super burrito tomorrow. Or maybe a few tacos or eve their nachos but whatever you order it's delicious! It's cash only but totally worth the hassle of getting cash beforehand. read more

This is one of the very few authentic restaurants in town. Unfortunately, it has a limited menu. Which is alright with me as long as they keep doing great at the meals they do serve. The carnitas are the bomb! They taste great in the tacos, burritos, torta (sandwich) or the dish. Yes, they are a bit on the unhealthy side but one has to realize, that it is authentic. To make them with no grease would not be true to the way of making carnitas in most regions of Mexico. When you order chicken in your tacos, enchiladas, etc ... it doesn't just tast like they just slapped a dry bland piece of boiled chicken in your food. The chicken is seasoned and savory. I had Burrito Express cater a party of 150 people and we were completely thrilled with how everything came out! The service was personal; they went out of their way to make sure that everything came out okay. The food was AMAZING. The chicken, which you would expect to be dry when cooked in bulk, was moist and flavorful. The carnitas and carneasada were excellent as well. All of the sides (beans, rice, salsa) were also flavorful and fresh. The proof of the quality was seen when guests went back again and again all night long! I would recommend them to anyone. While it's outside appearance just got a little re-model and paint job, the plaza overall is pretty run down. The inside is that of a pretty clean "hole in the wall" Mexican Joint. I have only had their 6 for $6 tacos (choice of meat , onion, cilantro, and salsa- which is liquid and quite hot), and their Super burrito (choice of meat, rice, refried beans, sour cream, cheese, sliced avocado and salsa). Haven't tried anything else on the menu which is a decent size covering all the basics of a la carte items, plates, etc... Anyways, this place is completely awesome...Why you ask? Well, its those DARN tacos!!! I tell ya, they are like crack!! You cant just have one....Wait...thats a potatoe chip commercial...ok...focus!! Anyways, the carnitas tacos have the most tender slow roasted meat i have ever had.The taco comes wrapped in a plain corn tortilla, and is topped with pico and a side of lime...Its as authentic as it comes.... they are on the small side so i would recommend ordering ummmm......20.....no just kidding, but maybe like 3 or 4 would be good. I have also tried the burritos there, all i can say to that is Yummilicious!!! great with sourcream and avocado. I ordered a shredded chicken burrito wet style with cheese. I have to learn to avoid any place that sells a super burrito. I took it home, they did not make it super. The Mexican rice wasn't roasted and was a tad soggy. The red sauce tasted weird, kind of bitter in a way. I wonder if it was old. I took two bites and threw the rest of it away. Right when I walked in 5 tables were covered with trash. We had to move the trash ourselves in order to get a table. When we were seated it took a while until she noticed that we had been waiting. She got our order and left but we sat here waiting for our drinks...also there was still trash on all the tables. We waited patiently for our drinks but whenever she would pass us she wouldn't notice that we been waiting for our drinks. Finally we asked for our drinks and she said she will get it to us...she never did until we asked her again for the second time. The service was horrible in general and by the time we left she still haven't cleaned the tables with trash on them, a customer insisted to clean the tables because the worker clearly doesn't know how to do her job. I go to the donut shop next door, always seen this place, looked it up on yelp, and had to try it. My boyfriend and I went here an hour after opening and couldn't decide on what we wanted, everything sounded good. So we went with burritos, mines chicken, his carnitas. We saw them make the carnitas and they were making it just like his mom does, he said they were delicious. Our burritos were big, not super big but big enough, they had a lot of rice though, the beans were good, and the meat was great. There was supposed to be avocados in it, I got two slices he got one but it wasn't an issue because they weren't in season. They were nice and had a home cooked vibe. I went originally for some menudo they said they only had for one plate so I let my cousin have it & we were going to take it to go becuase I wasnt going to eat anymore I then asked if they had chorizo and eggs for a breakfast burrito they said yes so we stayed to eat there, they take my order then come back and say they dont have anymore chorizo disappointed for the second time I think as a restaurant you shouldnt run out of things as simple as chorizo oh and our menudo was cold we asked them to heat it up and it came back the same, this place sucks read more
