Wow, super honest and great fix! I knocked my driver's side mirror on a cement pillar in a tight parking garage. Took it to Armstrong VW for a repair estimate: $1158 (for a new back-cap, new housing, new motor (even though the mirror adjustments still worked), repainting, etc. I was told it had to be repaired to a like-new state with a tight seal or water would penetrate the mirror housing and damage the electrical connections.) Thought I should get a second opinion so scheduled an appointment at Burnside Collision. The very personable Mark took a quick look and gave me two options: 1) glue the housing back on for $15, or 2) fix it to a like-new condition for "a few hundred dollars." We discussed things -- Mark said the mirror assembly interior would not be damaged by water -- and agreed that we might as well go with the $15 option first. If it didn't hold up, I'd come back for option 2. He glued it and was finished in about 10 minutes. It looks great! I don't know cars so Mark could have, like Armstrong VW did, told me anything, and I wouldn't really know it if I was overpaying for unnecessary work. But he was honest as if this was his own car and wanted a good solution at a fair -- actually very very kind -- price. Next time I need any body work done, I'll definitely go straight to Burnside! From my experience getting an estimate, I would say this place is fantastic. I was rear-ended and I brought in for an estimate, to get an independent opinion and option for repair, before going over to the insurance company who claimed liability. Not only did I get great detailed information about the damage and repair details... but also a lot of insight on the overall process and how to handle this scenario. I will definitely be using this body shop for any repairs in this scenario... and I will be back in the future. I took my car here when it got into a hit&run and my bumper got pulled out of place. I told them what happened. While I was waiting to find out more info on the driver that hit my car I just needed my car to be drivable because I had to drive to work. They examined the damage, made a quote for my insurance, and popped my bumper back into place so my car was drivable. They did all this in less than an hour with no charge. I had the front bumper of my Audi A6 replaced. Getting the estimate at the easy drive through site was convenient, fast, and very transparent. Not only was the work of high quality at a fair price, but they threw in pushing out an unrelated dent in a rear panel because they said it was easy. Some time later I approached them about work on my Tesla. They said they didn't work on Teslas but were helpful in directing me to one of the Tesla-certified sites and telling me what to expect. After a minor accident, I took to Google to find an auto shop near me and saw that Burnside Collision received great reviews. Thank you, Yelp users, for recommending this shop. The level of service here was outstanding and the ratings well-deserved! I brought my vehicle in to get an estimate for a minor repair. I arrived without an appointment (shame on me!), but that didn't seem to be a big deal to Jeff who expertly handled the phone and computer work before he stepped outside to look at my vehicle. He spent plenty of time looking over the damage and took photos, all the while explaining to me what work would need to be done. He then put together the estimate and I left feeling pretty good about my experience. I went ahead and got two other estimates. but I didn't find the service at either shop as honest as Burnside Collision (see my review on Fix Auto Portland for an example). So I dropped off my vehicle for repair and when I returned to pick it up a couple of days later, not only did they do a great job, they also detailed the interior my car. It was a complete surprise and fantastic customer service well beyond my expectations. I then took it back to check out the door lock and in addition to taking care of this, they also ran a diagnostic test that I had planned to have done at a different shop AND gave me the information on what the issue was. I took my car to a number of shops and I was quoted around the same amount, then I took it to George at Burnside Collision and he was not only really nice and easy to talk to, but he was super real with me and told me he could replace everything with brand new parts (which is what everyone else quoted me) or he could fix what I already have for a fraction of the cost. I told him I didn't know that was even an option since no other shop I took it to told me that! George saved me SO MUCH MONEY and I could not be happier with how it turned out, plus the fact that I saved so much money, and with how easy he made it all. It's been years since we have had a collision and our last experience with a body shop was poor, to say the least. Marc and Jeff are AMAZING!!!! They go above and beyond to make your life easier--even delivered my vehicle to my home after it was completed! Customer service at its finest. I want the lovely Burnside Collision people to get ALL the business. I feel as if I've found a unicorn. I went to Burnside after my car was rejected from an auto shop on the west side. All I needed was to get my driver side headlight replaced, which sounds easy enough, right? The first place I took it to ages ago said they'd have to take the whole engine out to replace the bulb, which...what?! So I left with lies to bring it back later. I rarely drive so I gave up on fixing the light for a while. Then my parked car got hit overnight by one of the children I hear coming out of the bar down the street every weekend who think they're totes fine to drive trashed. The damage happened around the driver side headlight. It's been months since this happened and I didn't give much thought to the possibility that the damage would cause further complications to getting the headlight fixed--the headlight itself looked fine. But when I at last took my PT Cruiser (I know) to the rejector shop they said they didn't want to touch it because the headlight was being supported by the damage and might not go back in after they took it out. Fail #2. They tell me to go to a body shop. So I find this place and George comes out to check on it and he's v kind, and it feels like all will be right with the world after all. The owner of the shop, whose name I didn't catch, comes out and works on it, and my Lady Violet Crawley will not be fussed with and gives him all sorts of probs. He has to drain the battery and reset to convince it that there is indeed a working bulb in there. By this point I'm defeated and expect bad news and an inevitable fix it ticket, BUT NO! His sly truck works! To top it off, the price was beyond reasonable. As in, I skipped out of there clicking my heels. As in, for one deranged moment I hoped to need collision work because now I know where to go. BTW, no, the engine didn't need to be taken out; no, the headlight wasn't in danger of dangling eyeball syndrome bc of the body damage. read more

I recently had a run in with a nasty parking block that murdered my bumper on my Audi. After calling around to multiple shops and either getting no call back, or given a 2+ month time frame for getting a new bumper put on, Jeff and Mark at Burnside were able to get me in and out in no time at all. They were able to get everything ordered and painted for me, so I just had to drop off the car for about 24 hours before I got her back looking better than new. They were super helpful, quick to respond to any questions, and helped me through the process as it was a first time claiming on my insurance. Dear Burnside Collision, Thank you for being amazing. I mean hands down - AMAZING. After many experiences with auto body shops that treat you like you HAVE to use them because the insurance company has a plan with them, it was refreshing to go somewhere that wanted my business so they could make my car great again, but were also happy to recommend other shops that the insurance prioritized. Marc really, truly is a fantastic owner who cares about your car. I felt like he was an immediate family member form the moment I met him and felt like he took care of me and my cars needs like I was family. ***Remember you have the right to choose where you want your car fixed - the insurance companies will pressure you not to - stand your ground. By law you can choose anywhere.*** Before I went to Burnside Collision I went to two places to get estimates. The estimate from Burnside Collision was consistent with those. Two of the locations were preferred vendors by State Farm. When I decided I wanted Burnside Collision to fix my car I had to go to a State Farm location to have my car evaluated. They refused to look at my 3 existing estimates that all reported the exact same needed repairs and said I needed about 40% less in repairs. My car is critical for work both functionally and in appearance. My claim was 100% valid against the person who hit my car, yet the adjustor made me feel petty for my claim and that I was a crook - someone just trying to get money for a minor fender bender - and that I was stupid. Noting makes me feel more mad than someone who makes me feel dumb. When I took my car into Burnside Collision, Marc assured me all the repairs would be done, though the check I had was for only 60%of the three quotes. He said he'd get it sorted out. Of course when he dealt with them - they did approve the repairs on the estimates I brought them. However it took them two days additional for the repair approval and delayed my car from being fixed for two days - of which State Farm has since billed me for the car rental. (A month after everything has been done - I am still battling charges on my credit card that now require a check to be issued from State Farm. I am frustrated because Burnside Collision advocated for me, got approval, and still I feel like the State Farm thinks I am a crook. Back to the repair - Burnside Collision made my car look AMAZING!!!! For once in my life, in regard to a car, I felt like I had a real advocate instead of someone seeing me as a bunch of $$$'s and a sucker. I will definitely take my car there again should it need anything done to the body. I'm pretty picky and have an older BMW. I was worried the paint wouldn't match as State Farm lead me to believe when I dropped my car off - Guess what State Farm??!! The paint matched perfectly and Burnside Collision was amazing!!!!!!! ~m P.S. Marc was as annoyed that my key fob had a short in it... (not collision related) he fixed it for free as a thank you for using them. Having it work again is seriously better than the cosmetic repairs to my car. Thank you with all my heart!!!
