They don't honor the prices that are placed below the items. I tried to buy a sweatshirt and the entire row said $14.99, but it rang up at $26.00. I told them the row said $14.99, so they walked over, removed the "old tag" and then said that was the price for shirts. The entire row was sweatshirts, and it didn't say shirts on the tag. read more

We're avid anglers who just moved to Burney and were blown away by the selection of tackle here. So many more options than any big box store we've been to, and the folks are super nice and eager to help you find what you're looking for. read more

This store has a huge selection of very over priced fishing tackle. I miss the good ole sporting goods store. I purchased some lures in hopes of getting some local fishing info. As in where are the fish biting? Maybe some simple directions to Burney creek, The response was I don't fish Burney creek. I asked about Hat creek, Response was I fish the local lakes. I didnt ask where do you fish. This kind of attitude towards out of town customers will kill this store. Burney relies on fishermen and hunters from out of town. I have been coming to this area for many years and was very disappointed in the customer service at Burney Sporting Goods. read more

Went here with the hubby last year while camping with the family to purchase guns.. They tend to get hellllla busy! But are some of the coolest folks out, and we're super happy with their selection because in the Bay Area, the gun stores had low to no none supply and the lines were upward of 75 folks in line, but these folks hooked us up!! Driving from Oakland to here is not a problem because of the high-level service we are receiving read more

They were so unbelievably rude, it was shocking! It's pretty obvious they don't want customers here. I wasn't sure if it was a TV prank or something. Or maybe it's one of those places where they're horribly rude as a gimmick. Like those Dick's Last Resort restaurants. That or you have to have their Hillbilly Rewards Card to get help here. I think a fly flew out of this guy's beard while he was talking. Also, in one of the reviews that aren't "recommended" by Yelp, a man points out that they're actually charging people illegal gun fees. No need to overpay and be treated like crap, so I'll never go here again. read more

This place has it all. I could spend hours in here just going through everything. Staff is always nice and helpful. I almost always stop here when passing through Burney. read more

My buddy and I stopped in for a few things when we arrived for a few days of fishing. The lady at the counter and the man at the gun counter were very helpful with fly selection and gave us good direction on where to fish. Just remember- always spend a few bucks when asking for advice. These people need support as much as we need their help! read more

We were camping at the MacArthur Burney Falls State Park and underestimated just how cold it would be. We stopped at this place with the intention of getting this instant feet and hand warmers but ended up walking out with a whole lot more! I was expecting a small sporting good store but what we actually got was a large store with pretty much everything you could want. Calling it a General store would probably be more accurate. They had clothes, gardening supplies, hunting gear, camping gear, toys, shoes, etc etc. If you need it this place has it and the prices were very reasonable for being in such a remote location. The woman working there was helpful and answered all our questions and helped us find things. We ended up walking out with socks, leggings, hand and foot warmers and a part that had broken on our cooler a few months before. read more

Great store. Great inventory it's comparable to a cabelas store but in a town of 3500. Best store north of Sacramento hands down.

Super friendly and helpful people. Picked up some flies for the river.

All your outdoor needs; fishing, hunting, camping and clothing. We got a sleeping bag for $40 & a bottle of propane. They have ammo, camp chairs, and all sorts of gear. NO PUBLIC BATHROOMS, so go next door to Rite Aid or McDonalds. Local store, nice & clean. read more

Burney Sporting Goods - Sporting Goods Near Me - Burney, California

We went in to check out the store as "tradition" when we go up to Burney (from Redding). I think the staff was good and the store is SUPER well stocked. We were able to find SO MUCH that we needed (and wanted) that is basically being "Sold out" in Redding. I have a beautiful Onyx Paddle Life Vest now and a TON of fishing accessories (bait, lures, etc). I have to say, we almost stopped by a second time but my husband and I were saying we'd be going into some debt. They had such a variety of items and the store was clean and so organized. read more

This is a great store. I am from out of town working a special assignment here for a few days. I knew I had better get some thermal socks...my feet get so cold in winter. I found thermal socks that are actually THE only thermal socks that have ever kept my feet warm. I bought a few other things...thermal gloves, a cute beanie hat that I can hang out a pony tail at the top...some cute stuffed animals, a sweater and a lunch bag. The prices seem reasonable for most of the things I looked at....other sporting goods stores have had much higher prices than this place. I think this store is worth keeping around. read more

Wayyy overpriced. $8.50 for a fuel canister that normally costs $3.50? I'd shop online unless it was an emergency. Speak with your dollars. Rite aid next door has a fishing and camping supply section as well. read more

Owner is ILLEGALLY CHARGING $100.00 for the Private Party Transfer of a firearm when the law "clearly" states that Dealers can charge no more than $35.00....$25.00 for the state transfer fee and $10.00 for the Dealer fee. AND, those fees must (by law) be posted! Go to Fall River....John's Gun Repair & Sales for an honest transaction and very friendly service. read more

This is not (for me at least in this single particular visit), a great shopping experience by any stretch of the imagination. I try to do the vast majority of my shopping online, save for when I need something and do not want to wait for it to ship here. The aisles are confusing and not labeled. You know how in stores, typically, there's some sign on each aisle indicating the general idea of what you'll locate on an aisle? Yeah! Nope, not in this store. Everything seems cobbled together, with no real rhyme or reason as to why certain merchandise is placed in a certain area. For the duration of my visit there, I was the only customer there, or at least among just a few (there could have been people there and left that I didn't notice). There were three employees present. I scoured that store each and every last aisle, to find an item, to no avail. I must have passed these set of employees at least three times, and never once did they acknowledge my existence, say hi, or ask if I needed any help. I'm not one of these people that expects to be condescended to and pampered in terms of customer service, but I expect at least the bare minimum. I just put my self in the metaphorical shoes of the person I am talking to. If I were them, an employee of an establishment that thrives on people walking in and giving them money in exchange for goods, I would at least, at the very least, acknowledge those who did walk in that potentially could help support my business. I know what one could think: why didn't you just ask them for help? Well, they were all having a conversation. It looked and seemed important, though some of the cursory glances I caught of them appeared them to be just hanging around and laughing, but I don't know. It's weird to approach people and interrupt them. I know I was there with the impetus of buying something, but when the people there know I could potentially buy some of their product(s) fail to even try to help me, they fail. read more
