This is the best place to get your workout in. The floating floor is everything for knees that need TLC. The music and trainers bring it!

I liked what I saw and the reviews I read, especially when I found out that it wasn't an atmosphere where I walked around aimlessly so I couldn't be lazy. When you first go in, you pick a machine/station to start on (rower, treadmill, or strength floor and when you go in, you head to your chosen start point. For the first class, they let you use one of their heart rate monitors which tracks your real-time fitness statistics (along with everyone in the class) on a big screen monitor. There is one coach who goes over the routine with each group - then it begins. The first class was intense - with three groups in at the same time - I didn't realize how out of shape I was (even though I guess I kind of new deep down). Having gotten out of the Marine Corps so long ago, fitness hadn't been at the forefront of my life as it had been in the past. Anyway - the class started with me on a rower for about 20 minutes, the strength floor for about 20 minutes, then the tread mill for about 20 minutes. Walking was a pain for the rest of the week. Since OrangeTheory is new for me, I've only been three times so far, but each workout is different and equally intense. I had been going to the 9:00 am Saturday classes, but found that I like to sleep in too much, so today I tried the 10:15 am class and I'm actually glad I did. The class was only a two-group class which I like better. The format this time was to warm up on the treadmill, spend about 30 minutes on the strength floor then switch to the rowers/treadmills going back and forth between the two for the other 30 minutes. Also, since starting I've had three different coaches - all of the totally awesome. None of them seemed douchey or judgmental which is great, especially when you know you're are't in as great a shape as you want to me. I'm glad I decided to start coming here. I'm looking forward to the next class.

If you're on the fence and thinking about whether or not you should join RockBox Fitness,…read moredefinitely read this review. I started my fitness journey about four years ago, and I have been kickboxing for almost 3 years. I can definitely say kickboxing changed my life. It is one of the only workouts I have sustained; it keeps me interested enough that I keep on coming back for more. Rockbox fitness is a kickboxing based fitness gym. It incorporates elements of kickboxing into their almost hour-long routines along with functional circuit training for the second half. I love this format because this is the only way I feel that I incorporate any sort of resistance and weight training into my workout routine. It's the best of both worlds. Head instructor Kevin here at the Gainesville location is amazing! His technique is amazing, but his kindness and approachability stand out. Everyone, no matter what your skill level, is welcome at Rockbox, Gainesville. Instructor Emmanuel's stretching techniques are well appreciated and instructor JJ's energy, technique and enthusiasm is beyond comparison. Latest instructor Aiden is amazing. His skill and love for the sport is evident. But his enthusiasm gives us all the motivation we need and makes me look forward to his classes! Rockbox Gainesville makes you feel like family. You should definitely join.

It's like a health spa palace. It's unreal and feels like a healthy boogie city. There's a restaurant with every healthy food item you can think of and some unhealthy to boot. A spa and salon, two large indoor pools, hot tub, two massive outdoor pools, water slides, lawn chairs, cabanas and table areas. Oh did I mention it has child care, group fitness and every matching known to man. Plus this place is clean! The locker rooms have a bathroom buffet of Q tips, cotton balls, razors, mouthwash, shampoo, body wash, conditioner. I've never seen anything like it in my life. So from my perspective this place is the Disney land of health clubs. We spent our day at the outdoor pools when I visited and I never wanted to leave. It's a pretty price at $200 a month- I think I paid less in rent in the 90s. But, shit if you like a clean place with frills this it!

I initially had a great deal of trust in this program and believed the trainer genuinely cared…read moreabout my son and his progress. Unfortunately, my experience ended with me feeling completely conned, deceived, and taken advantage of. A major reason I committed to this program was the understanding that my son would receive five days of services each week--three days of personal training and two days of mentorship. Ultimately, the program was not able to provide the five-day-a-week schedule that had been represented to me, despite this being an important part of what I believed I was paying for. After already making a significant financial commitment, I then unexpectedly received a $600 invoice for transportation services. Based on previous communications, I believed transportation was already included. When I questioned the charge and explained that I could not afford additional expenses, I was offered different reductions to the transportation fee. This only increased my concern about how the additional charge had been determined in the first place. There were other services I believed I had paid for that were not delivered as expected, including a nutrition program that was not provided. At that point, I had lost confidence in the arrangement as I have spent over 10K and decided to cancel. I requested reimbursement for the unused portion of the services so that I could put that money toward another trainer. Instead of being offered a straightforward refund, I was told I could use a transfer-credit program or dispute the charges through my bank. I want to acknowledge that there were positive aspects of my son's experience and that the trainer did spend meaningful time with him. That is part of what made this situation so upsetting. I trusted him with both my son and a substantial financial investment. By the end of this experience, I felt conned and deceived because what I understood I was purchasing did not match what was ultimately being provided, and additional charges appeared that I had not expected. I strongly recommend that anyone considering this program get every service, frequency commitment, transportation charge, nutrition service, cancellation provision, and refund policy clearly documented in writing before paying. I wish I had done so before making such a significant financial commitment.

The first time I came in was to get some info about what they had to offer and I met Scott, who was extremely friendly and helpful. He did not pressure me at all, which is what I prefer, especially when I consider my experiences with your typical gyms. He gave me the info I need and told me to come back when I'm ready. One thing he mentioned was the Introduction to Crossfit two week program that teaches you the basics of Crossfit, all for free. The "box" is one of the nicer ones I've seen and they have plenty of equipment for the various workouts they conduct. They keep it clean, but it has a little wear and tear, which I like to call character. It tells me that people use the facility and plenty of sweat has been broken here. One cool thing I like is that they have a kids area so parents can get in a workout and not have to get a babysitter. This is critical because kids can be an anchor or an excuse for not exercising. Don't get me wrong, I'm not blaming the kiddos, but this day in age it's a hard balance. By having the kids area it helps alleviate that problem and/or excuse. From the research I've done the prices for their various membership programs are competitive to higher priced, but I think you'll get your money's worth no matter what you decide to do. Speaking of, they have lots of options from punchcards to a yearly plan and savings for families and college students. Make sure you check them out: http://crossfitdurable.com/monthly-membership/ I'm still trying to figure if I'm going to jump in, but the free community workouts have given me some motivation and something to think about. My only concern is how many tribal tattoos will I come away with ;)
