I am a big fan of their ladies' casual dresses and my husband likes their selection of dress shirts. We have found a couple good value options and consistent availability, which is nice when you need something and don't have days to shop for it. The staff is always friendly and helpful also! If you're in the area, I recommend giving this Nordstrom Rack a try!

This is a huge warehouse with many aisles of shoes. I looked through every aisle--twice. I picked out some child shoes in the hopes that they would fit the bill. But nooooooo! Online purchasing is possible I suppose, but I needed the pair immediately and isn't that why I would go to a physical store? I did purchase the children's shoes but had to return them. Staff was very helpful with the return process. And I received a dukedom!

I stopped in and was greeted by one of the owners, Patty, a very friendly, helpful woman that showed me around and pointed out some of the upscale items she had. This diamond in the rough store had beautiful handbags, jewelry and designer clothing priced unbelievably low! Plan on enough time to dig through the many layers of clothes tightly packed on racks, the owners plan on expanding the store since its popularity and hope they succeed. I left with so many treasures and decided to bring my own designer clothes and bags to this store after seeing what they carry. Want something with quality and style, this is the place! T Defazio

Ross Dress for Less…read more Less is the keyword. I brought a relative in to look for some sweaters and a nightgown, and I found the store to be woefully understocked. There were large empty sections in the store, and the selection was sparse. This relative is immune to fashion, and mainly price-conscious, but we could find no nightgowns that would suit. And rather than spend time looking through the rest of the clothing, I said, let's go. Less is more? Sometimes less is less.

The two sales women were literally busy playing tic tac toe and hangman at the back counter, and it was clearly a burden for them to need to interact with any prospective customers. When I asked about whether or not the two bras I had in my hand were on sale, one said no despite the fact that both signage and the website said "50% off when you buy 2+". I usually go to the Deer Park store, but thought I should give my business to the VH store since I know this mall is struggling during construction. I'm a Soma fan, but this is the last time I'll shop at this store. Editing to respond to Soma's response. While I appreciate your response, I'm not going to call a corporate number only to be put on hold and have to retell what I've already told you here. I don't feel that it's my responsibility to follow up on this situation. I've already told you what happened. Whether you choose to act on it or not is on you.

This is my rating based on the potential that I'm seeing with the redevelopment of this mall. Over…read moretime, this mall has generally been a good spot to gather with a quality set of stores, though there's definitely a lot more competition nearby with good options in all of the surrounding shopping centers that cover all the different varieties of shops and restaurants. With lots of indoor malls closing nearby, this setup has become a bit more of a rarity, and personally I still like having a large spot with furniture to sit down at when I need to rest, a climate controlled area for when it's too hot or cold outside, and lots of fun spots to do seasonal pictures. With Hawthorn 2.0, I'm quite excited for what is to come. It looks like there will be a fresh set of solid anchors like Perry's Steakhouse, AMC, Dave & Busters, Macy's, etc. If this develops similarly to Randhurst, this would be a great spot to gather in Vernon Hills. Even before this is complete however, Hawthorn Mall has retained more quality tenants and has an overall cleaner and more modern look than some of the other indoor malls nearby. With the next closest similar offering being Woodfield Mall, this is still a fairly unique offering.
