Kohl's - The main reason I visit Kohl's: Amazon Returns!

I've been a Kohl's customer for many, many years, but no longer. I doubt I will buy anything here…read moreagain. They so rarely had my size in Levis that I just stopped looking, anyway. I can go to the Levis website and order the exact pair I want in my size and they will be on my doorstep in a day or two. So why bother coming to Kohl's anymore? Amazon Returns. A few days ago, I was here for an Amazon return and they handed me a coupon for 20% off my purchase at Kohl's. So I thought I'd use it. In a nutshell, that 20% off coupon Amazon gives you is bullshit. Allow me to explain... I went to the area where all of the men's sportswear clothing used to be to discover that there wasn't much to choose from. There was a lot of Champion gear, but their track pants felt like burlap. Seriously. Burlap. Nevertheless, I found a nice pair of Under Armor joggers. Good enough. I also found a Yellowstone board game (a gift for my parents - they love the TV show - shush, don't tell'em I got'em that until after this Christmas). My wife got some bras. So three totally unrelated items: pants, bras, and board game. While checking out, however, we were informed that we wouldn't be getting 20% off of anything because the coupon wouldn't work for the things we wanted. It says it all right there, in that tiny font wording on the coupon that no naked eye can read, the giant list of everything in the store that the 20% doesn't apply to. After I took the coupon home and put it under my microscope so I could read it, I would venture to say that the 20% off coupon does not work for 95% of the stuff for sale within Kohl's. After paying a lot more than we thought we would have to pay for our stuff, we were walking out when I noticed that there was a second larger location for the rest of the men's sportswear on the other side of the registers, hidden behind all their Christmas stuff. Silly me! Why didn't I just look behind the mound of Christmas swag back where the women's clothes used to be for my men's pants?! This store sucks. Unless there are some big changes, I doubt Kohl's will be around much longer. This place continues to go downhill, year after year. I seriously doubt that putting a Sephora in the middle of the store will save them. I remember when Blockbuster Video tried to save themselves by having a Radio Shack outlet that sold a small selection of cords, batteries, adapters, etc. in some of their stores. That did not work out for either of them in the end, and I predict history repeating itself in the end with Kohl's (Sephora may survive, though). Hopefully, by the time Kohl's goes under Amazon will have a drone service available to pick up my returns in my driveway.

I was looking to get a new car shade. Sadly, I'll have to look elsewhere. I was also looking for a supplement called Alice. I had seen online, and heard Target carried them. I did not see them here. Strike 2. I ended up getting a pair of pajamas and just looking around the clothing area. They do have some cute dresses out. $35.00 is what I saw for most. I used the self check out. It's hysterical to me how you manage to never hire anyone new here and keep the same people, yet we see the outcome of that situation. No one stopped to help me, so i went inside, the lady looked done and tired, but so was i, i told her the 2 hour window was over and I'm still waiting and she made up a 3 hour window, and when i asked to just have my order she said it wasn't possible, or maybe she was just lazy.m, maybe should've put that one in the app. I'm still waiting in my car, looks like we're gonna hit an all time record of four hours in the target parking lot, i've been seeing people come and go around me since four, what a great experience. Happy holidays target.

I have never gotten greetings like this from any other retailer that was next-door to target or five below. I have closer Dollar tree stores to me, but I drive 35 minutes to go to this one. The women at this store talk to you like your friend or family member and are super professional. My first visit to this Dollar tree was week of valentine day. Their store looked so beautiful. An elderly customer--who was simply unaware of the store's updated pricing model--was harshly spoken to by the store manager, Jennifer. When the customer politely expressed surprise at the higher prices, Jennifer snapped at her and said, "Pay attention next time! It's not Dollar Tree's problem you didn't pay attention." The customer was visibly shocked and too timid to defend herself. It was heartbreaking to watch. There was absolutely no need for the tone or hostility--especially directed at someone clearly just confused by recent changes. We all deserve patience and respect, but especially our elders. While I understand that staffing challenges exist and retail work is not easy, Jennifer's demeanor was unprofessional and unnecessarily cruel. A manager's role is to lead by example, and in this case, that example was one of impatience, disrespect, and lack of empathy. I spoke with the assistant manager privately and respectfully urged her to ask Jennifer to treat customers with basic decency. We are all human, and a little kindness goes a long way.

Since today is their first day everything looks great, clean and neat and well stocked, and plenty of employees to help. There's a big variety of sections including toys, makeup, decor, and lots more, but my favorites are the snacks and graphic tees. For snacks the prices are close to convenience store prices so they're not a great value, but the selection is great with all kinds of things including Japanese candy and hard to find trendy items. Meanwhile the t-shirts seem like a great value at $5.55 for licensed designs that would cost $15 at Kohl's. One complaint is that this location seems to have only self checkout registers which are fine except one of my two purchases didn't ring up at the right price. The nearby employee was happy to fix it for me quickly, but it did slow things down a bit. I imagine it will go more smoothly when not crowded, and it does let you have half a dozen registers going at once instead of just one or two cashiers struggling at peak times. But to sum it up, this is a nice brightly lit store with plenty of low priced items to tempt you, and some fun things that you might not find easily elsewhere.

Either in the store shopping or drive up. It's really easy to shop in the app for pick up especially because they offer a larger variety of baby items (Stonyfield yogurt) than the local grocery store. I just shop in the app and select drive up. If an item you want for pick up is out of stock, they will either make a substitution if you opted for one, offer you to pick it up from another location, ship it to you, or cancel it. Usually when you order online the minimum is $35 or orders placed using your Target RedCard can score you free shipping. The staff at this store is helpful and drive up has always gone smoothly. The layout makes sense and it is easy to find items. I still love the OG scanning machines to find the price. TIP: I've scanned items using my phone with the Target app, but sometimes items can be marked as clearance without the sticker. I scored kid's boots on clearance. The app had a higher price than the store. TIP: if you have Sprint/T-Mobile, the cell phone service is horrible in the shopping area so be sure to screenshot the drive up code once you get it as the employee needs it to close out your order if you're picking up.
