They have a large food section, seasonal displays, bathroom and bedroom necessities and a large picture frame area too. Unfortunately, oftentimes I'll be interested in a bowl or plate and they are all chipped. For example, yesterday I found a really nice looking pottery bowl, the first one I picked up was chipped and there were 8 others on the shelf so I knew I'd be in luck, however every single one of the 8 bowls also had a chip or scratch. You just have to be careful what you end up buying and make sure you look at it carefully before making a purchase. A lot of the furniture looks good from afar but when you get closer it has dents and bumps, etc. Their clearance section is honestly a waste of time because 99% of the items are damaged. I'd rather pay 25% more for the item and have it not be broken. One thing that seriously irks me about this place is the new bag policy. Not the actual fact that you have to pay for a bag but the fact that they no longer have paper for you to wrap your delicate items! What the heck. Came in yesterday with my own bags and bought bowls and plates but they had nothing to wrap my things with to make sure they didn't scratch and break while they were in my car. That is annoying. Nothing worse than getting home and finding out the new bowls you just bought are damaged.

9.29.17. Mayfair Shopping Center Commack New York…read more I have always loved this little community shopping Center. Close to to home, it was a hang out and meeting spot back in the day. The giant rear parking lot here was just naturally a good place for all of us to chill. And was always good for a early morning Bun Run.. Mister Cheapo records and CDs Still Remains, so many of the original stores like Burlington gone to memory. I saw that the Italian place Chao has gone out of business, a shame I've enjoyed many wonderful meals there. Best Supermarket is now the Cornerstone Supermarket here and Brooklyn Pizza is still in the house. A busy local spot teeming with the Commack community's business activity. The Outback Steakhouse is one of the original Outbacks that I have been going for many years. Some of my best memories are in this Outback restaurant here. Verizon now has a free-standing building with the old gas station used to be the shopping center remains at the center of Commack's vibrant Community. I always enjoy visiting the Mayfair and shopping here whenever I am in the area. I can't help think of the memories and times that I've had here. I've also known the owner for years - she is a kind, respectable person who truly cares about her customers. However, over the past year or two, I've noticed a decline in customer service. There are a few sales associates whose approach often makes shopping uncomfortable. They seem eager to help younger women or those who fit the mold of a certain aesthetic, but if you don't, the experience changes. Instead of showing flattering pieces that could accentuate your positives, they tend to pull oversized items - with more of an appeasing "let's cover you up" attitude rather than talking to you positively about what could look good on you. Even when I share my preferences and typical size, I'm often presented with clothing that feels mismatched to what I've expressed I like. At this point, it feels less like a mistake and more like inexperience or a lack of understanding of how to style different body types. Additionally, hiring only sales staff who look and act "trendy" misses the mark when it comes to connecting with the broader demographic of women who should be embraced and celebrated as valued customers. It's too bad, because the clothes themselves are cute - but the experience has become so unpleasant that I will be taking this place off my list of places to shop.
