I ordered an item for my sons Christmas present for pick up in store, I received the email that it's ready for pick up. The next day I'm on my way to pick up my order and someone in the store canceled my order and no one can say why it was canceled. My credit card was charged and no one picks up when I call the store for clarification as to what happened. When I called target customer service for help, they offered me a $20 gift card, am I suppose to give my son a $20 gift card for Christmas???? Worst customer experience ever!!!! The product is now sold out at all Targets and isn't available for shipping or pickup at any location within a 100 miles of my home. read more

Customer service at this location is poor. Purchased an Amazon Echo that did not work (confirmed by Amazon to be mis-packaged where the device was previously reported lost. The outer box had a different serial number than the device itself but both are currently registered to the same Amazon account). Amazon instructed me to return/replace the unit at the store. Target Customer service refused to accept the return citing policy and that there is no proof that I did not swap out the unit with a stolen one. The women manager then asked if I had purchased a protection plan, which is total nonsense and irrelevant. After spending a good hour on a conference call with Target Guest Services and Amazon Echo Support, they accepted the return and the matter was resolved. I understand there are instances of foul play where a customer try to return a stolen product. However, without proof, the same can be said that Target intentionally sold a stolen product. I find it to be insulting that an assumption was made (hence their initial decision to refuse return). How to deal with returned inventory is none of a customer's business. For all I care as a customer, if a defective product is sold - refund or provide replacement. read more

Halloween candy was very unorganized and bare. Produce is actually very good usually. Cashier lines always seem to be long and they never have enough open. Self check out is always long and doesn't save time at all. Return lines are also always long. Not sure if they need to hire more people or stream line process. read more

I used to love Target but in the last six months or so there are not enough people working the registers. Out of all the registers available only 30% of them are open at any given time.There are always random employees standing around yet never enough by the registers. They have a bunch of self checkout registers which I find super annoying. It is faster having someone else ring you up because there are always problems with the register especially if you buy fruit or bulky items. Plus they have an employee standing there watching you checkout. Why can't you just put him behind the register? Their produce is overpriced and does not usually last long. read more

I've been to this Target a couple of times and the clothing departments - particularly the women's - always seems to be a disaster. The clearance section - wow! what a mess. clothes all over the floor & there was no rhyme or reason for how the clothes were organized. Usually they're organized by size or even by type (tops, bottoms). A lot of the items weren't even on the right hanger size. They had a lot of stuff, but it was very frustrating to browse through. I understand customers can be messy & that's how stuff ends up on the floor, but they could still organize the clothes in a better way. On the plus side, this location has two self-checkout's next to either exit/entrance, which is nice as that's what I prefer to use. read more

This location seems a bit more disorganized than say Hicksville, but if you work at it, you can generally locate what you are looking for. I don't know what I would do without Target. I know what I would have, and that's more money because I go nuts whenever I come here. DVD's? sure! Useless notepads? Sure! More candles and wine glasses? Definitely! They just have it all here and their return policy is very lenient. As long as you have the credit card you used for your purchase they will accept returns. However, if you lose your receipt and paid in cash you will only receive store credit and you lose a certain percentage of the item's worth. I go to Target when I need certain groceries. The store is usually clean. I know that there are pictures of messy aisles in people's reviews, but it is not Target's fault if people are inconsiderate slobs. My one warning would be that sale prices are frequently not in the computer system, so you get charged the full price. I take a picture of the sale posting so I can present it to the cashier if I need to. The staff is very good with correcting the erroneous prices, as it must happen frequently. read more

I come to Target because its my happy place. The Commack Target has never "wow-ed" me. The employees are usually kinda rude (and thats if they even are around) and the store itself is usually messy and not well stocked. Tonight was one of the most pleasant experiences I've ever had there. I usually go through self checkout but I had so much stuff i figured it'd be easier and more spacious to have someone help ring me up. Pauline was the kindest, sweetest person I've ever had ring me up. From the small conversation she started with me, genuinely asking about my day, and helping me with my cartwheel deals and discounts, she was a doll! Commack Target: Poor inventory control, web indicated that a specific brand of hand sanitizers were in stock. Consulting 3 store employees and searching three shelves in the store non were to be found. Last store employee checked their inventory, 69 in stock but none to be found. I will stick with my Walmart and Costco going forward. read more

I placed an online order for pick-up, which included approximately ten cans of food. It was a large order so I did inspect it at the store. When I got home, I noticed that half of the cans were dented. It's as if they saw an online order as an opportunity to move what would otherwise be unsaleable merchandise. Shame. read more

This is supposed to be a Target Greatlands. Except it's not so great. I've been searching for a certain coffee table. Yes, I live in Brooklyn, NO, Commack is nowhere near Brooklyn. But it supposedly had 5 of my tables in stock, as well as some stored as well. I even called to make sure, because it really is not convenient at all. The nice lady on the phone assured me that I could definitely get this table if I came by. So I came by. Not only was there no table out on the floor, the person "helping" me said that they did have it in back, but I'd have to wait until the next day to get it. Really. It's not like I had plans on staying over in Commack just to get this table. So I left. Without the table. Thought I might get some popcorn on the way out to make things better. Except they were out of popcorn. Ok - thought I'd get a medium soda to go with me on the long ass drive back to Brooklyn. What was that? Out of medium cups too? I love Target and I'm always at this location running in for a couple of things but wind up buying lots more than expected. Grocery prices are cheaper than most of the nearby supermarkets, I've always had a good experience at the pharmacy dept, I like the inexpensive E.L.F makeup line Target carries, and even the clothing dept has some great finds. My wife or I will hit this place at least once a week for various things. During the holiday seasons they keep the shelves pretty well stocked, so if you get there early you can usually find what your looking for. I really wanted to give this Target 5 stars because it started off so well. First thing I noticed is the shopping carts. It looks like they're made of high-grade plastic with no squeeky metal parts that can make my cart look like a gimp. No sir, these shopping carts glide quietly with such ease that they might as well be hovering on air. This particular location also had fresh groceries, self-checkout, and located in a large shopping center with many other stores such as King Kullen, Babies R Us, Sports Authority, Michaels and many more! And it's these amenities that make this particular Target store such a standout compared to other Target stores I've been to. So now the reason i was at this store in the first place - because I was shopping for sneakers for my daughter and she wanted these pretty Frozen ones but the Target store I normally go to didn't have them in her size. They helped me call up this store who did happen to have them in stock so they put them aside for me at Guest Services. So this is where I needed to deduct a star. First, NO ONE was there (see picture). And check out lines were a mess (see other picture) and this was around 8pm on a Tuesday night! What about the self check out that I was talking about earlier? Customer service at this store seems to have improved considerably since my previous review. This week, I placed a "pick up in store order" that included some paper goods and other items. While processing my order, one of the items -- a giant multi-roll pack of paper towels -- went out of stock. Rather than Target canceling the item automatically, I was given the option of either canceling the item, or getting it delivered without a shipping charge. This was quite unexpected, and a level of service that I suspect most retailers wouldn't provide. I opted to have the item shipped, and received the giant package of paper towels the following day via UPS ground! When I went to the store to pick up the remaining items, a roving store employee was taking customers off the order pick-up line to reduce the waiting period to only a few minutes. So I called ahead of going to this target today to pickup a movie. After 6 1/2 minutes on hold the electronics depart the employee "checked" for the movie availability. The employee confirmed that they have the DVD and Blu-ray Ray versions of the said movie. I took the 15 minute drive to get there. After spending a while looking for the movie I went to the electronics spot where the employee that I spoke with was located. She remembered that I called and said yes we have 6 copies. Then she looked on her electronic device and told me, "ooh we can't release that movie yet... Sorry." I worked at this location for 3 yrs over night and let me tell you, they treat there employees like SHIT! I mean on some rare occasions there nice but when you get them on a bad night watch out I've left work many times crying in my car for the way I was treated! I even had to yell at one of my bosses for the way he was treating me and I was in the right for doing so! You can buy almost anything your heart desires here. I particularly like the grocery department as their prices are reasonable. Always ample parking. The only downfall is that very few registers tend to be open, however the lines move relatively fast. They also have self checkouts which are always available.
