First, let me say that my entire team at 21st CENTURY Home Health Services was absolutely amazing -- Neim, Ny, Anna, Meg, and Bernard! As a unit, they came through for me like the Avengers! I had very serious spine surgery and had to learn how to walk again. I'm a very independent man. I provide for and take care of others -- that's my love language. So coming out of surgery and not being able to walk, bend, twist, stand long enough to eat, or even do basic things for myself was very, very demoralizing. Having to depend on someone to wipe my butt, not being able to shower or bathe myself, and losing so much of my independence really affected me. It killed my spirit and drained me physically, mentally, and emotionally. It was a very tough road. But this team got me together and got me through it. I especially want to take a moment to highlight Meg and Bernard because these two went above and beyond for me. There wasn't a time I needed them that they didn't come through. At one point, I didn't have the correct bed or the proper equipment I needed . My head was hanging off one end of the bed and my feet were hanging off the other. It took three and a half weeks for me to finally get the proper equipment, and during that entire time, Meg and Bernard were grinding -- making calls, leaving messages, pushing people, and doing everything they could to get me what I needed. They were dealing with third parties and outside circumstances that were completely out of their control, but that didn't stop them from putting pressure on people because they saw that I wasn't being treated the way I should have been, and they were not okay with it. They could have easily just done their jobs and left it at that, but instead, they chose to go above and beyond. Late nights. Early mornings. Constant phone calls. Especially Meg -- she was even making calls on my behalf when she had her own child's birthday going on. That meant a lot to me because she didn't have to do that, but she did. And Bernard came through for me in person.He helped me get my joy back. He helped me smile again. He helped me regain my independence and, most importantly, helped me climb out of the dark place I was in mentally and emotionally. They have a large staff of physical therapists and occupational therapists, so every patient can receive therapy every day. As is usually the case, half the staff are Filipinos, but there are also staff from Indonesia, Nigeria, Mexico, Malta, Fiji, Lithuania, China and the Caribbean. There are holes in the walls and floors, windows are NOT dual pane, the electrical set up is a mess, they have the outlets on opposite sides of the room, so cords are all over the ground. The staff seems overworked or just lazy, I'm not sure which... maybe both. Call lights go unanswered for hours. My Dad is a 2x stroke, 1x heart attack patient that needs to be checked on regularly but every time he calls no one comes for a good bit of time. They don't care if you stare at the wall all day because no one wants to turn the tv on. Even though they know my Dad is completely disabled and can not do anything himself. We toured several assisted living facilities in the area and decided that The Trousdale was the best fit and the best atmosphere for our 95 year old mother. And believe me, she was not on board. After a serious fall and a rehab facility, we moved her to The Trousdale. That was absolutely the right choice. The caregivers are the best I have ever encountered. Kind, warm, caring and friendly. She had around the clock care. They dressed her daily, took her to the dining room for her meals and engaged her in daily activities. She never once complained about being there. When dementia set in the staff addressed that also. She was happy. The Trousdale provides immediate communication to family members when there is an issue, i.e., falls, illness, or even behavioral issues. I highly recommend "The Trousdale" for your loved ones. If I am in need of assistance one day, I hope my family finds me a place like this, or sends me there. Those who are capable can come and go freely and those who no longer have the ability to safely go out on their own are entertained and engaged in social and physically therapeutic activities. I am forever thankful for the care my mother received.

We placed my father on hospice after almost twisting my stepmother's arm. She thought hospice meant…read moresaying our goodbyes -- but instead, we gained so much from it. Within just a few days, his bed, table, and caregivers were in place, and support began immediately. Nurse Jamie, a skilled and compassionate male nurse, connected with my father right away. The caregivers also formed an instant, warm bond with my stepmom, who could no longer care for him on her own. Their kindness brought comfort and stability to our whole family. After 8-9 months of their attentive care, my father began eating again, walking, and truly thriving -- at 96 years old. He improved so much that he no longer qualified for hospice. My sister and I were incredibly impressed by how quickly they acted and how lovingly they cared for him during such a vulnerable time. Thank you to Jamie and the caring staff at ANX -- our family is forever grateful.

When we walked the halls, staff from every department would greet us, it was sweet. ok, now about the care... Like all SNF's San Bruno is crowded with clients and staff can only do so much. But, I found that from the cleaners to the nurses, skilled or unskilled, the staff genuinely try their best to give every client the attention they need. Some need much more than others . I was there 5 to 10 hours a day, and got to see how things work. I found that clients with family to assist probably got their needs met quicker. And, the families are encouraged to visit their loved ones. I was welcomed at 7:00AM no restrictions... the outside visiting areas are relaxing. There are lots of airplanes but it's San Bruno so you expect that. I like this facility because it is a family of staff, all working together to help the clients. Even when we were leaving one of the aids came running up to us saying good bye, and she wasn't even working our room ! And, if there are issues Joe and his team do their darnedest to get it resolved. So go team San Bruno SNF , we'll probably see you again !!!

She went into this slum of a facility after her stay at Stanford, where they told us she was suffering from back pain and a UTI and was having some mobility issues due to her back pain. When she was transferred, we attempted to check if she was getting proper medication for said UTI and they told us that they didn't see it in her paperwork and refused to treat her for it. We didn't realize the facility was so bad but now the voicemails of my grandma calling us crying and saying she is scared haunts me to this day. My grandma went into septic shock and died of what they deemed "heart failure" inside of this place. Again, she went in for back pain. Not issues with her heart. NEVER let your loved ones be treated here, if you value their lives.

Home health has changed for the worse the past few years, yet Health Flex is among the better ones still! Communication and a few scheduling issues were not great. Especially a person misconstruing clear written communication and coming on the wrong day, then telling me repeatedly they would do a "missed visit" for their blatant mistake. Also, administration not returning calls, addressing urgent concerns, or being communicative aside, the rest of my experience was great. All the practitioners were compassionate, kind, and helpful. Shout out to Carlo/PT and Matt/OT who welcomed my questions as someone doing PT for almost 20 years, they both not only understood my neurologically complex conditions, also how to work around them to get me stronger and more stable.
