Burgess Orchards was one of the highlights of our road trip through northern Utah! From the moment we arrived, it was easy to see why this family-owned orchard has such a great reputation. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and happy to answer questions, creating a relaxed, hometown atmosphere that made us feel right at home. The fresh peach we bought was absolutely incredible--perfectly ripe, incredibly juicy, and packed with flavor. You can really taste the difference that comes from fresh, locally grown fruit. We also treated ourselves to a cherry sundae, which was refreshing, delicious, and the perfect way to cool off on a warm day. The real surprise, though, was the apple cider donuts. We bought half a dozen thinking they'd last a while, but they disappeared much faster than expected! They were soft, fresh, perfectly coated in cinnamon sugar, and easily some of the best donuts we've had. If you're driving through Alpine or exploring Utah County, Burgess Orchards is definitely worth a stop. Whether you're looking for fresh fruit, homemade treats, or just a fun local experience, this place delivers. Came here about a month ago for the peach shake since it's become an annual tradition since last year, but forgot to make sure they added the graham cracker topping! They were kind enough to give me a little cup on the side. The peaches beginning of September were good although not super sweet. Be prepared to wait a little bit since there's usually a decent crowd. I love that they have a nice little patch of grass to relax on while you enjoy your sweet treat! My family and I heard about this place from an instagram post, so we made the trek out to see what all the fuss was about. When we got there, there had to be nearly 100 scattered around with a sizable line. We probably waited about 20 mins to get to the window and order. While we waited in line, I was really suprised to see that there were only 3 tables available for people to sit. I find this pretty wild with how many people were there and I was told this was a "slow" day. It was almost 95 degrees outside and we had our little kids with us, so sitting in the grass and roasting wasn't an option, all the spots on the edge of the cement pad in the shade were taken, and of course the 3 tables were taken. When we got our ice cream (we ordered the cherry, peach, and then the apple cider slush) we just had to find somewhere to stand awkwardly while we had to wait to pounce on and fight for a spot on the ground that would eventually open up. They have an indoor area, where it seems they sell the peaches and other fruit they produce by the box, but I didn't see one person in there trying to buy any, and even then there was most certainly still space in there for a few more tables in the shade. For a place that's so busy apparently, it seems they could take better care of their customers. All that said, back to the actual treats themselves. I personally had the cherry and would say it was just okay. The ice cream reminds me of the ice cream you would get at the Costco cafe, which isn't bad, but certainly not super exciting. The cherries were good, though I have no idea if they are cherries from their farm or from a cherry pie filling can at the store. I wish the cherries were more evenly mixed in the ice cream. There was about an inch of straight cherries in the bottom, and some on the top. Meaning the treat started nice, then I had to eat through a bunch of plain vanilla ice cream to be able to get to the rest of the good stuff. Once I did, the ice cream gets a lot better when you can mix the cherries and sauce around with it. I tried a few bites of my kids apple cider slush, and it's exactly what it sounds like. I found myself wishing I'd ordered one of these instead. I found it a lot more unique and refreshing than what I'd gotten. read more

I love coming here every year during peach season. They have the best peaches! You can also get corn, apples, and different berries. They have an orchard that is $15 to get into and you can take pictures or pick your own fruit. Weekends they get long lines, but it isn't bad during the week. Staff is friendly as well. Not a lot of places to sit, so be prepared to stand or bring a blanket to sit on the grass. read more

The perfect fall spot! They have a walk up window to take orders and a little pop up shop with apple cider, peaches, and apple cider donuts for sale. We tried the cherry pie sundae and apple pie sundae, both were amazing!! The peach sundae also looked great and had fresh peaches! This review is written retroactively, so I hope things have changed. Back in 2023, my husband and I visited Burgess, hearing incredible things about their peach sundaes. When we came, parking was an absolute nightmare. We spent ten minutes just trying to find a spot, and then frantically crossed the (very busy) street to get some ice cream. I wasn't very impressed. The ice cream itself is pretty much just vanilla soft serve, and the peaches were HARD. I get that they have many people coming through, but it's just such a bummer that some people end up with unripe, hard peaches. Not only that, we had several chunks of pit in ours, and I hurt my tooth! Anyway. I hope they've been improving things, but we probably won't be back. read more

I love their peaches. We probably buy a box every week. They're so delicious. Their honeycrisp apples... to die for. We haven't gotten ice cream or shakes but we love their fresh baked donuts (so glad they brought them back). We would love to see more expanded local offerings of produce. Burgess Orchards is a quaint little neighborhood orchard located on the side of the Alpine Hwy. It is a u- pick farm but the real draw are the fresh fruit sundaes. If I'm being completely honest, they're nothing extraordinary. Soft serve and fruit is always a great combination but these aren't necessarily the best you'll ever have. However, it didn't stop us from polishing off the cup! We did some apple picking but the orchard was very over-picked. I would say the majority of the apples were on the ground or rotting on the vine. But it was still a fun activity! Overall, Burgess Orchards is a fun date location! Went on a late afternoon during the week. Took a while to be helped outside at the little stand. There wasn't very much and not very busy. Seemed like a lot of people got what they wanted and left right away. Parking is on gravel and there aren't many places to sit. The donuts were very soft and good. To get the well known ice cream sundaes, you need to purchase it separately from the little stand, and it's at a window. They are $5 each. The Cherry one was very sour, I wish the apple was a little softer like apple pie filling, and the peach was pretty good. I think my expectations were too high. Everything was pretty underwhelming. Cute little farm stand, if you were local and wanted to stop by for treats and produce it would be five stars! Very easy to get in and out. Everything at the farm stand seemed reasonably priced. I am just appalled by the apple picking prices. It is advertised as $1.50/lb, but then you have to pay $15 per group to pick apples which is laughable! We were astonished, and since there is no signage or explanation we had no idea until after we finished picking (we assumed the $15 was for a 'fill the bag' situation since there were no signs and it wasn't explained while we paid). So like $30 so a few pounds of apples. We used to go apple picking all the time in Ohio and there was never a cost besides for the fruit. Obviously apple picking is a fun fall activity but I can't stomach going back here, it felt so greedy. I would rather pay more per pound than pay $15 to walk around for 20 minutes and then have to pay for the fruit we picked. read more

Omg, soft serve with fresh fruit off the vine?! Yes, please! This is such a cute spot for a quick treat, date night, or someplace you want to relax and have your dessert too -- fun for you and the whole family as well! This is from what I've heard a small spot that not many people knew about, until people knew about it. Mind you, the line is long as there's only one window to order from and one window to pickup your order. They call out your order by numbers, and the best part is they have all of their wares (all fruit) on sale right off to the side. So if you love their sundaes, buy their fruit too! By the time we stood in line around 7:25pm, we had hoped to get to the window before 8pm as we've heard they promptly closed shop by then. Luckily we managed to get thru 15 mins before they closed. The dessert is a beauty, packed full of fresh fruit, about 1.5 peaches worth inside the cup, topped with subtly sweet frozen yogurt and whipped cream. Okay, YUM. Even though Utah County and specifically Burgess Orchards isn't that far away from me (only about 45 minutes), it's always felt like such a trek to get over there. I've heard how amazing the peach ice cream is here and I've been dying to try it out for literally years now, and this weekend I finally made it over there. I will go all the way to Burgess Orchards again JUST for their delicious peach ice cream. I was blown away, it was so delicious! It's peach soft serve ice cream topped with whipped cream and fresh peaches, and is absolutely delectable. Their apple cider slushy was also delicious and they also had a cherry sundae that I can't wait to try next time I come back. They have an apple orchard as well that I can't wait to come back to in the fall. We got some fresh peaches, peppers, and jalapenos and everything was so reasonably priced and delicious. I think my expectations were too high for this place considering the reviews. It's really just some soft serve with some fruit, which is great, but that is what you get. I thought there would be more of a farmers market vibe here, but they only had a couple of types of fruit and some local honey. Awesome little spot. We came here on a Saturday afternoon to pick up some peaches and apples. We saw a separate line of people for peach ice cream and couldn't help but to check it out. It looked awesome so we ended up waiting in line for the peach ice cream for about 35 minutes. IT WAS WORTH IT! It was vanilla ice cream with chunks of peach in the mix. The vanilla ice cream wasn't your typical store bought ice cream. This was creamy and smooooth. Definitely recommend you wait in line for this. So good!! I'm obsessed with this place! Okay so first things first it's kinda hard to spot as you're coming up on it. It's on the side of the road on a curve so super easy to miss and all the parking is on the street. But once you find it it's super cute! They have a little stand out front selling peaches, apples, corn, honey, and more! I thought the peaches themselves were a little pricy so I stuck to the ice cream. Next to the stand they have a little shack that sells treats. We got the peach sundae and the frozen apple slushy drink. They were both amazing! Now, if you're looking for really sweet peaches this isn't the place. The peaches here were a little more tart which is what I like so I was a huge fan plus their prices for ice cream are awesome. Honestly, the Apple slushy stole the show for me. The Apple flavor was so dominant and fresh it was nice to balance out the heavy ice cream. Whatever you get here though will be delicious. When I hear about hole-in-the-wall places like these, I just have to go and support! I love mom and pop shops and this place definitely oozes "mom and pop" shop. Highly recommended by a fellow yelper, took the littles here after school for a nice cold treat. Ordered their fresh peaches over a peach-flavored soft serve ice cream. The ice cream was definitely satisfying on a hot day and peaches were at their peak too. Fresh peaches on the bottom, fresh peaches on top, soft-serve subtle flavor peach soft serve ice cream in the middle. However, when I did eat through the top peach layer and got into the soft serve, the soft-serve ice cream had a gaping hole right in the middle! Like they only swirled the soft serve on the sides of the cup, so I felt like I got cheated LOL. So I nicely went up and inquired about my soft serve, and the young guy said, "well that's just how it got served". My response and question to him was, "well can you fill up the hole?" He was a bit hesitant, and I had to convince him it was the right thing to do, and then he did it. There should NOT be a hole in my soft serve ice cream! The location is right off a major road and the speed limit is not 25 mph, so be careful pulling in and pulling out of the parking lot. Plenty of parking in the back - you will pass an actual house on your way to the dirt parking area, and a nice tree orchard too, where I'm sure they grow the actual peaches they serve with this wonderful treat. read more

What a hidden gem! Came for peach sundaes and they were delicious! The peach was super juicy and soft. The peach ice cream was really good and creamy. It was a super refreshing summer treat! I do wish that there was some type of cinnamon and crumble on it. I think that would really elevate the sundae! read more

My boyfriend and I came from SLC just for their peach ice cream the first time and it was amazing! This review is about the service and ambiance: My boyfriend and I came here a second time to see if they had U-pick and they do! We specifically asked the teenage guy [who honestly didn't pay attention to us when we were at the register and ignored us till we said excuse me] about peaches and he said they had some so we were super stoked to pick them! It cost $15 dollars for us to go pick some, but we figured we could choose which peaches we wanted, they were fresh off the tree, and it was an experience! :) We both lived in Washington for a while and have experienced TONS of U-pick farms down there and wanted to create another amazing memory of that, but in my home state! When we went into the orchard there were only apples and most of the peach trees were closed off. We were super bummed because we just paid $15 to not get a single peach off the trees. We bought a few apples so we didn't feel we didn't waste the $15 experience to go in the orchard, but it honestly sucked that we were communicated to incorrectly. The ambiance was really weird. The guy at the registered ignored us even though we were standing right at the front of the register. I had to say excuse me for him to even pay attention to us, but he seemed perfectly happy with another couple when we were walking up. This brings up how my boyfriend brought up people staring at me and he even felt uncomfortable (he's white and I'm Hispanic.) So that in general threw me off, but I felt more comfortable when I saw an African American mom and her daughter so I wasn't the only minority there. We felt the same way the first time, but having people stare both times we went and for him to feel that tension too [I assumed it was in my head] made me uncomfortable. read more

After 2 years of trying to come here and then closing earlier than advertised, or running out of peaches - we finally came here and they had their peach shake available. Let me just say... I wish they didn't have it available. It was one of the worst things I've ever purchased. Their weird ice cream was overly sweet and artificial tasting with a weird texture, and their peaches were absolutely horrendous. The peaches were so unripe that they were crunchier than a carrot and more tart than a war head. Gonna have to go to the orthodontist after eating those peaches because they were so unripe. I'm astonished they're taking peoples money for this stuff. For all those that are looking to make a drive here.. unless you're offered it for free and within 3 minutes, save your time, your money, and dignity and go somewhere else for a treat. read more

Chemical "ice cream". If you care about your health and are going here thinking it's a healthy homemade type of treat, buyer beware, it's not. The ice cream is not real it's a powered mix of sugar, chemicals, and oils. The peaches are real and good though. After tasting this I immediately told my friend it was weird and figured out it's the ice cream. I asked to see the ingredients and they gave me an industrial aluminum bag of powder for a non dairy frozen soft serve mix. The ingredients are so horrible and toxic. I was also shocked by the price but now it makes sense, price = quality. (As a marketer) If they used real homemade ice cream (a local brand maybe like Idk support small business) and charged double they would still have great business and not scare away the people who actually care to support local farms that try to eat whole real food for humans.
