Nothing like going back to your hometown & not having to wonder where to eat. Super glad to be here on the weekend so I can order beef fried rice at Burgess Grill. (It's only available on Saturdays!) While my next favorite thing is the patty melt, you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. When a restaurant has been in business for 60+ years with the same chef, you know it's got to be good. read more

Burgess Grill - Beef fried rice - Burgers Near Me - Lawton, Oklahoma

Food and services were outstanding. 10 out of 10 will definitely be going back again!!!!!

Mrs Burgess still makes the best burger in the state. Best of all, the quality is the same every time we eat there. I do hope if something ever happens to her, they won't change it to save a few bucks. The service is amazing. There is only the best at Burgess Grill. And the ambiance is that of an old fashioned diner. Truly excellent! read more

For lunch, it's busy, so that says a lot of folks enjoy this place. Since it was busy, it took a minute to get our food, but the wait wasn't annoying long. This is a nice little hole in the wall place that's been here for ages. Older building, but it's kept up. Foods always delicious as ever. Burgers are some of the best in town. read more

Burgess Grill - Mushroom Burger - Burgers Near Me - Lawton, Oklahoma

Was working in Oklahoma and found this hidden gem. Great price and delicious hamburger!!!

Mama Burgess is 97 years old and still cooking in the back. Worth the trip up the ATM to get cash. The burgers are old school drive in style and very tasty. We recommend whatever the special is of the day. We got the chicken fried rice. It was large portion and made to order. Staff was friendly and helpful. read more

The wait is too long, the customer service is TERRIBLE, the manager called me a bitch, bad store ambiance (stunk), and the Japanese food tastes like soap!! I've been a returning customer for years until this day... will never come back. read more

Onion burger was good, I expected a mom & pop establishment to have real french fries but theirs were the frozen kind you stick in the oven, 1/2 were soft & I want crispy. Service was fine, plenty of seating for a small restaurant. I've heard people brag about Burgess Grill so I went in with high expectations & I guess that added to my disappointment. I'm sure the rest of their food is good. read more

As far as I'm concerned, Burgess Grill has the best hamburgers in the world. I've never found another place that compares. Their classic, old fashioned cheeseburger is as good as it gets. Save room for lemon meringue pie! Burgess is a true Lawton classic. read more

The food is always fresh and never overcooked. The portions of the meals are very generous as well. The staff is always very accommodating. If you don't see it on the menu, you can always ask about a substitute. The facility is always nice and clean. There are photos and paintings everywhere, which gives it that "Diner" feel. This place is pretty awesome!! read more

The food, service, and staff are amazing. I stop there every time that I have court in Lawton.

Took our son here for his boot camp graduation breakfast, the owner and chef were so nice. Both came up to greet him and say kind words. We ordered omelets and the 2-2-2 and everything was delicious. Highly recommend! read more

Best burgers in Lawton!! The twins are great servers. Make sure you bring cash, I do t believe they take card! Oh and get the pie!

Wow. This place is AMAZING! Hubby and I were looking for something different to try, since we dont live in Lawton. Checked on Yelp, saw it had like 62 great reviews and decided to give it a try. Oh. My. Goodness. SO glad we did. Hubby got the Crunchy burger, which had a horseradish sauce and onion rings...it was HUGE and he devoured it..lol I got the Pepperburger...which was AWESOME! It too was huge, and had green chilis, jalapeno relish and pepperjack...whoa. ON POINT. The place was clean, the servers were friendly and the food is amazing. We'll definitely come back! Great place to dine!! With now 63 great reviews!! P.S. Hubby said, bring a beard towel if applicable lol read more

We went in the middle of the week at lunch time. The service was great and the service was incredible. We'll be back next time we're in Lawton. read more

What can I say it is the place where everybody knows your name! Locals mainly, always know someone there, the food is a good price and served up hot and tasty. It is a slice of Americana having counter service and bringing my cash. Cash only which is fine because it's worth it! read more

I've been coming to Burgess Grill since I was a kid. The menu hasn't changed much and that's for good reason. You come to Burgess to get a quality burger. Yes, the patties might not be the monstrosities that we are used to from chain restaurants, but the beef is delicious and the toppings are plentiful. It can be very busy around the lunch rush, but if I go anytime after 12:30 I can usually be in and out in less than 30 minutes. Burgess is a Lawton gem and undoubtedly my favorite place to eat in town. read more

This place is a pretty good lunch date place. I went with my husband & I came in on a random day ordered the exact same lunch menu which was an extraordinary burger ( forgot the name completely). Sooo delicious!! we also ordered fried pickles. Which were thick and juicy but at the same time I would not order them again because the breading was a little too thick. If I had time I would definitely go here again. Last thing I would like to mention is this Restaurant ONLY accepts CASH! read more

The food was super good! The value was there. The staff was helpful and friendly. And the whole facility was very clean. Ms. Burgess was a great sport and even posed for a picture with me. She's been making burgers for a long time and should be given respect for doing something so well for so long. We ate at a lot of places during our Lawton stay. The burgers at Burgess Grill were the highlight of our food experience in Lawton. read more

Great old school diner, I had the onion burger and rings, both we're delicious! I'll be back.

The food was awesome. Tasty and delicious. My only concern is that the employees or not employees but 1 in particular does drugs. I walked into the bathroom and was shock to what I saw. I believe I shock the waitress as well. But I am a member to a church which I won't mention so, no I would never recommend this place until I'm sure that there are random drug test on all the waitress. I'm not judging but I refuse to return until this matter is taken care of. It's a shame since the food was outstanding. read more

This is my go-to place when I am in town! Awesome chicken-fried steak & a great burger. The pies! Mrs. Burgess could easily go into catering! Always in demand from locals at lunch; plan accordingly. You will always see someone you know there! Enjoy!! read more

The food was ok, nothing special at all and not worth any hype. The waitress got my daughter's order wrong and refused to fix it. Everyone at the table knew what she had ordered, we looked at the menu before going to make it quick. She offered to bring the right said dwhich, but we would have to pay for both. She ate it but we won't go back. read more

The waitress is slow and we waited a long time for the food. She was also rude and the second time we just left cuz she forgot about us and we were hungry including my son. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone unless the waitress were replaced. Well just one in general read more

Big old burgers, and tons of creative choices on the menu. I had the Mexican burger with guacamole, bacon, onions, and pepper jack cheese. To say that I inhaled it would be an understatement. It barely even touched my plate! read more

Burgess Grill - The Mexican burger. Yum - Burgers Near Me - Lawton, Oklahoma

Burgess Grill serves a wide variety of burgers. They have a ton of options and most likely can make a burger with whatever toppings you want. They also have asian influenced food, but i have not personally tried any of it. They are known for the burgers. The burgers are delicious and it is often packed at lunch as a result. Within Lawton I would argue that they are the best burgers you can get, especially if you like them with lots of extras. Inside the restaurant it gets fairly packed at lunch and getting service can be a pain. More often than not you will be waiting longer to order and get refills on drinks than any other part of the actual meal. Also they only take cash, but there is an ATM at the bank adjacent if you decide to go at the spur of the moment. It is also only open for work day lunch, so do not try to go for dinner or the weekends. Overall I enjoy going there for a great burger, but the crowd, long waits, and need to pay with cash keep me from going as often as I would like. read more

This place has been here forever. Great food. Old fashioned feel. If you like a place you can go sit and chat while you eat, try this out.

These burgers are amazing, cooked to perfection, dripping all over the place, the French fries are crisp, and salted properly. I have always enjoyed the food, but there has been a couple time I can think of the staff has not been friendly, but over all most of the staff is pretty good, a few bad apples should not ruin the batch. Plus it seems the bad ones don't stick around long. I do not mind the cash only operation, makes it easier. Overall I still give this place a five star rating. read more

I was born and raised in Lawton and know Sue/Dana personally and would've eaten here every day if I could have. The burgers and fries are literally the best I've ever had in my life and the mark by which I have judged all other burgers and fries since I left Lawton and lived several other places. I still have yet to find a burger that comes close to this. It is always a treat now when I come through Lawton to visit and this is the place I must come not only to eat but to say hi to everyone and catch up. I must also say that the best chocolate pie I've ever had is here and a few times in college I remember buying a complete pie to take back to the dorms at Cameron. It's just one of those places that you can't explain and have to go to with the old school customer service and classic diner ambiance. Service has always been fast and nice people and have never in my life had one complaint about this place. If you've never been you're missing out. read more

HANDS DOWN - The Best Burger in Lawton I know for Lawton that's not necessarily saying a whole lot - but with the recent addition of The Backporch , Jak's Cafe and the White Buffalo to Lawton's repertoire of locally owned burger joints as well as the nationally recognized Meers Store/Restaurant we actually have a pretty decent selection to choose from. And as good(or bad) as any of these places might be they all don't quite live up to what Burgess Grill has to offer. Aside from being owned and operated by some of the nicest people you will meet they offer up some of the best burgers you can buy at a very reasonable price. The atmosphere is very relaxed, clean and bright. I would advise avoiding this place during lunch hour as it will be very busy and make sure to bring cash with you since they don't take credit/check. My only real complaint would be their early closing time of 4 p.m. My favorite dish would have to be the Flame Burger with tatertots and an extra cup of flame sauce to dip in on the side. The name might be intimidating but they manage to achieve a perfect balance of heat, spice and flavor that doesn't overwhelm. So if you happen to be in the downtown/mall area do not pass this place up. You will not be disappointed. read more

This place was HANDS DOWN fantastic and delicious! Talk about good service and delicious food. I thought Jersey diners were good but this place was REALLY good. We got the omelette with mushrooms and onion, side of hash browns, and my brother got a double...something cheeseburger with tater tots. Also got a side of wheat toast with blackberry jam. Honestly get anything here. The food tasted fresh and clean and truly felt like grandma's food on a cold, winter morning. Highly recommend!! The owner apparently has been working here for 50+ years and also prepped our food. Makes it feel even more special. The waitresses were super nice and engaging too. Felt good to be visiting a new city with nice service and people and good food! read more

Little hole in the wall burger places are the best. The cheeseburger was juicy and full of flavor. The chili is most likely homemade. The pies are good but probably not from scratch. Will definitely stop here again when in town. read more

Good burgers and clean place. What else needs to be said. Nice selection of burgers and other dishes.

Was visiting a friend in Lawton this past August, and looked up places to eat and this place definitely did not disappoint! Great food, nice portions and good prices. I'm from a big city (Houston) so it was a change of atmosphere for me, more of a small diner from the movies. You could see the waitresses knew many of their regulars by name, we got great service as well. So great that we decided to come back before heading back on the road. Would definitely recommend. Make sure you check their hours before going though. read more

Food was excellent! Couldn't have asked for a better burger! This restaurant is extremely busy during lunch time though. We arrived at 12, and didn't get our burgers until 12:55! After 1 pm it slowed down a lot though. I'd recommend arriving after 1pm. Great choice though. Very satisfied! read more

Went for lunch. Great burgers, lots of choices, service is okay, not enough servers. I had the crunchy. Burger, very delicious. The two people I went with got a mushroom Swiss and a mexican burger, they both agree with my previous statement. They don't take credit cards, that would've been great to know before hand. Luckily I had cash, I had to pay for everybody. read more
