I loved that everyone in my group was suddenly craving a burger while we were in Germany a couple of weeks ago -- and lo and behold, we stumbled upon a burger spot just across the border in Austria! We did a quick day trip to Austria. Of course, we had to stop and try it. It was decent overall, and I actually really liked the name of the restaurant. Burgerista! I ordered a plain hamburger, but the bun was a bit on the dry side. Unfortunately, the soda machine was acting up; it was pouring out flat soda. A group of 5 of us ordered and had our food with 10 minutes. The burgers, fries and sauces were all exceptional and made for a great lunch. Great burger restaurant for fast food. Super friendly staff and very helpful. Ordered two beef sliders(3.50 Eur each), an order of fries and two drinks. Rang in right at $18 Eurs. Little burgers were very good..only complaint...no mustard! Not enough of a complaint to lower rating. The fries were excellent. Love being able to fill my drink with a variety of options and able to get refills. This is rare! We each got at least 10Eurs worth of soda making the food free!!! Not really. Veggie'rista (4 stars): If you're from the USA, this tastes almost like an In-n-Out burger grilled cheese, but with actual veggies and it's a little different with the secret sauce. Fries (3.5 stars): Thick but still good. Cool atmosphere! Casual. Good for groups. Didn't have chicken but my meat loving husband actually loved the grilled cheese! Our American guide from the Sound of Music tour recommended Burgerista...saying it was a good American burger and fries. It lived up to her hype. Excellent burgers!! It took a while to get our food but that wasn't a problem once we took a bite of our burgers. The burgers here are very delicious, full of flavor, the patties were very juicy. Buegerista has it's own house made sauces for the fries. To me, the sauces didn't taste so special. It was just okay. But the burgers were excellent. Better than any fast food burgers in the states, best burgers in Salzburg. Just as good as innout and lots of customizations and options. If you get the giant build your own burger, dont eat the pepper. Made that mistake and drank 6 mason jars of lemonade because it was so spicy. Its very nice how late this place is open as well. Definitely stopped by here a couple times after a night at O'malleys! read more

Salzburg really needed this kind of place. Of course, there is the BioBurgerMeister and also Pommes Boutique, but both are very small and there is usually no space if you want to sit down and enjoy your burger. Burgerista is huge and has many tables, service is very fast and burgers are excellent. The only bad thing - their wc. They really should check it more often, because it gets dirty & clogged fast. read more

A pretty solid burger, the patties are thin style and well done which isn't my preference. but the flavor and toppings are good. Cool setup with all the different sauces available at the table to add to your burger or use with fries. The service was poor, one burger was missing grilled onions, and when I went to ask for more was told that I hadn't ordered them with it. I hadn't been given a receipt so I couldn't prove I had but they begrudgingly added them. The other burger was missing gherkin-relish (which we had paid to add at the hefty price of 1 euro), and when I asked for this to be added I was told it was out of stock. I pointed out I had paid extra to have it added and he shrugged his shoulders and walked away. Really good burgers here! Looks like a fast food place but serves decent restaurant level burgers. There are a bunch of sauces to choose from, and each of them is special and great to dip fries in. Try the iced tea too! You get free refills. My only huge complaint is that the women's bathroom was absolutely trashed and disgusting. It seemed like no one has cleaned it in a month. They should really check their bathrooms and clean in a timely manner. read more

Burgerista serves some pretty average burgers. The bun and toppings are nothing special. The saving grace of Burgerista are the sauces. The BBQ with Honey and the BBQ with apple are great. Red Hot Chili burger is amazing!!! The jalapeños are chopped up and melts into the cheese so you'll get spicy in every bite, instead of it falling out. I ordered the Mexican style steak fries, which were suppose to be spicy, but I found them to sweet and savory instead of spicy. The environment of the place is hipster-esque... After reading the reviews online, my wife and I decided to try it out. Most of the staff spoke English which made ordering our food very easy and quick. We only waited maybe 10 minutes and the food was hot and even made to our liking. The food was delicious and we would definitely recommend it to anyone traveling to Salzburg! I would normally give a place like this four stars, but I'm giving them five because they do two awesome things: they home make lemonade and tea (and give free refills!) and they have a real club sandwich. The place is really casual, but nice and clean. They have free, good wifi and it's fine to chill and drink your free refills, while it is cold and raining outside. The burgers are really good. Not as amazing as a few places we have in Berlin, but very good. And, they tell you exactly where the meat came from (farm and everything) which I appreciate.The steak fries are good and the Mexican seasoning is worth getting. The cheese sauce is good, but I'd pass on it in the future. The kicker for me was the club sandwich on our second visit (yes good enough, especially with the drinks and wifi to go a second time on our trip) and it was the only real American style club sandwich I've been able to find in Europe (save for their special sauce instead of mayo). They toast and layer the bread, give sliced turkey, the bacon is awesome. It was great. I'd highly recommend this place for European residents wanting a burger (Americans, I'd probably experience local cuisine more and have the burger back home) or anyone wanting to sit for a while and have something while using he wifi. read more

I am not particularly a fan of seeking out American food while traveling, but after two weeks in Bavaria where the meal choices are "Schwein oder Schwein?" and indeed, sometimes you have eaten pork products three times in one day, a burger and fries starts sounding like not such a bad idea. These are yummy, juicy burgers cooked to order with fries and drinks that have...wait for it...ice AND free refills. (Now I am feeling very American.) Make sure you get the homemade lemonades and iced tea. Not the cheapest but better than American places with slightly upscale yet quickly served burgers.
