My aunt and I enjoyed our burgers despite seeing some the reviews. Our fries were delicious as well. The service was efficient and we didn't wait long before receiving our food. The restaurant is attached to a hotel so I would imagine it stays busy. Overall, I enjoyed my food! read more

We came here for breakfast at our hotel. Server was attentive, super kind and fast. Kitchen did a great job - all 3 entrees were delicious and of generous portions. The omelette was kind of a "build your own" type deal with lots of options. I ordered coffee and he brought an entire carafe, plus a to-go cup. Plenty of seating, nice decor, warm & welcoming. Delicious drink and burger. My friend and I sat at the bar in our hotel (Holiday Inn Grand Rapids Downtown) restaurant. Comfy seats but surprisingly no NFL football on the TVs on a Sunday afternoon. This was recommended by the front desk staff as safe place for my friend who had celiac. She got a burger no bun with sautéed mushrooms and onions as well as a huge bowl of coleslaw which she enjoyed. My burger on a pretzel bun with Swiss, tomato and bacon was super tasty and perfectly medium. The fries were seasoned and just a bit fishy, which I didn't mind but some might. The service was great and we were happily full. Both meals and one drink was $40 with tip. read more

This review is for bar service only. We checked into the hotel around 3pm on a Saturday afternoon. We were informed the bar did not open until 4pm, which I find a little late for a Saturday, especially when check-in is at 4pm. We got downstairs around 3:55 and asked if it was okay if we sat at the bar, even thought we were early and we were happy to wait until 4 - the answer we got was pretty cold and unenthusiastic. We sat at the bar while we waited and chatted and were on our phones, however, it was impossible not to over hear the bartender openly complain to someone on the kitchen staff about having to cover for someone that day, how disgusting the bar was left, etc etc. At one point they even complained about the possibility for larger tables (6-8 tops) and how they'd want to walk out. Um... wow, okay. At about 3:58 the bartender walked over to us and asked us what we wanted, in a very annoyed voice. I said that were were okay to wait until 4PM and she said "I'm fine". Welp, okay! There was also a weird conversation after my husband ordered a Sam Adam's beer and how the tap may not be working, etc. Once she sat the drinks in front of us and we said Thank You, she literally just turned and walked away. We had others staying at the hotel and they trickled down and we moved from the bar to the largest table right behind us so we could all sit together. I asked if it was okay with her if we moved, she looked at me with a look of annoyance and and shrugged "I don't care". Thanks?! When others ordered and got their drinks, the resounding comment was how cold and rude she was. It wasn't just her conversation, but the looks / facial expressions we were getting. We were a total inconvenience to her. So, while I would recommend the hotel, I would not be recommending the bar to any guests. There are way too many places to drink in GR with WAY better service. I'm giving a 2 star because the tap selection isn't bad and the house chardonnay was good. read more

My husband is an IHG member and first experienced Burger Theory in Kansas City where he raved about the Lone Starr burger, he proclaimed "one of the best burgers ever!" So he was excited to see this Holiday Inn had a BT restaurant so he could have it again. We had dinner here after our visit to Meijer Gardens and were very happy with the super friendly and accommodating service staff and delicious food. Really nice ambience for a budget-friendly hotel bar/restaurant. The onion rings were some of the best ever- we'll definitely be back!! read more

The staff was nice. The food was OK. That said, I opted to take my food back to my room after counting 27 (well-fed) fruit-flies chilling on the bar ceiling. The dining room maybe didn't have any fly issues? I couldn't say, I had a couple drinks, collected my food box and split. As mentioned in other reviews, the waitstaff here is top notch. The burgers are good and the build your own burger offers a good assortment of toppings. Based on the amount of moisture in my burger, I believe they probably use thawed patties. If they were to use fresh ground beef, this would be a great burger place. read more

Burger Theory gets one star for the good service. After that everything was disappointing. For appetizer we ordered the fire cracker shrimp. There was now fire just a overly sweet sauce. The shrimp was deep fried naked. No breading on them. They cooked the till golden brown they crunched like I think it would like biting into a beetle. I ordered the classic burger and ordered it medium. The terrible appetizer came the same time as a burger. The first bite of the burger we all telling. The burger was cooked to death. So over cooked and dry it had no flavor. I would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

Go absolutely anywhere else for a burger. Seriously, cross the river and pick anywhere else to eat. I've had a better burger from a gas station hot box. The patties were boiled(?) perfectly round pucks, grey inside and out. Their signature burger was served without the bacon or onions and KGB sauce is mayonnaise? this restaurant seems unassuming due to it's location, but the menu and staff make up for everything you'd assume they'd lack. the boss Burger was a stuffed party that was the most filling burger I've ever had. I got the queso that was worth 10x more than what I paid for. All in all, it has been one of the best burger experiences I've ever had. waitress, Jeanine and cook Konner made this a 10/ 10 experience. read more
