Usually quick, good service. Prices are a bit high. Food is way to salty and far from healthy.

It's just hard to actually label this place, but it works. I ordered the Hot Honey Burger ($11), Bacon, Melted Cheese, Onion Tanglers, & Hot Honey Sauce on Pretzel Bun. It is a delicious burger. Quality meat that's cooked perfectly and the hot honey sauce is great. It's a really fair price / value. The person I was with ordered the Classic Hamburger ($9), Topped w/ Ketchup, Mustard, Pickle & Onion. It was declared to be very good. We both got fries ($2), they are a thin fry, not shoestring thin. They were good and went well with the burger. They just aren't a standalone item. The service was friendly and efficient. The food came out quickly. Overall a 5 star review. Would I return? Absolutely, excellent burgers are worth a 30 minute trip.

However people at our table all attested to how great the burgers are so I caved and ordered a Swiss Mushroom Burger with chips. It did not disappoint AT ALL. Eileen provided super good service for an unruly 12-16 people. That was no small feat but she handled us with all our demands patiently and timely with a smile. My only small gripe and most the people there was that the room temperature. To their defense it was subzero outside

I looked up Judd's online before making the approximate 30 minute drive and was surprised to see they took reservations. Never knowing how busy they might be, I made one and was glad I did because when I arrived, there was only one table available besides the one I reserved. We were promptly shown to our table and greeted by our server Aubree. I would describe the menu as bar food on steroids. A full list of appetizers, salads, sandwiches, pizzas and a few "main course" items are on the menu. It was also $3.00 margarita night (and they were quite good!) We were in the mood for burgers so that's what we ordered. We both ordered burgers and upgraded to the hand cut fries. Both were excellent. We both ordered medium rare. They were cooked perfectly and tasted great. When we go to a new place, we always look around to see what others are eating. We saw a pretty good cross section of the menu all of which looked good. I asked about the hand breaded chicken tenders. Rather than tell me, Aubree brought both of us a sample. They are a real possibility when we come again. (or maybe one of us will order bluegill, and the other a "Mother Clucker" which are chicken tenders and share). I need to devote a paragraph to our server Aubree. The restaurant was packed and she took care of each table like they were her only customer. Her service was so north of outstanding I think I'd go back even if the food wasn't so good. Another great find!!!

I went to the waitress station to ask when our food would be out, three waitress were chatting away, she said "pretty soon" then went back to talking. when the food arrive is was warm, not hot, the chicken tenders were dark, like dirty oil, and was soaked in grease it was not eatable. we used to eat here once a week, need to find a new place. I did notice their appears to be a complete staff turnover, they are not the people that should be serving the public

You simply will not find a better breakfast in town…read more Wayland, Michigan is a small town in every regard and it's full of amazing people. The Auction House is quite literally all the best parts of Wayland, MI wrapped up in one dining experience. When you walk into this simple brick outbuilding of the livestock auction, you might be taken back by how tiny it is really is. About 20 seats wrapped around a U shaped counter. If all the seats are filled, just be patient and hang out by the door, something will open up soon. If you need seats together, it is not unusual to see a whole row of customers get up and shift their seats around to make room for you. That's just what you do because it's the right thing to do. Very Wayland. You'll also want to prepare yourself for small talk. When you sit at the counter, it's more like sitting at a giant dinner table in your kitchen at home. There's plenty of regular customers and it won't take long for you to become one yourself. Amy's food is outstanding and, trust me, you won't go hungry. I highly recommend the breakfast burrito, but people also go nuts for the HUGE pancakes and omelettes. Don't want a HUGE pancake? Ask for a little one...I dare you. See what happens. The burgers are also top notch. I love this place and the people who make it thrive. Belly up, and you will too!

The bacon was plentiful and tasty though. The best part of the plate was the wheat toast. I think it was homemade. Still, I won't be back.

On my way out of town from Gun Lake, I stopped at Curly Cone about 6 miles from the casino, and…read morehonestly, it ended up being one of the highlights of the trip. At first glance, it looks like a small ice cream stand, but it's grown into much more. There's a farm stand, a catering truck, and a full menu that goes way beyond desserts. They serve breakfast all day, along with burgers, shakes, and classic diner-style food. When we went around 9:30 a.m. on a Wednesday, it was packed with locals, which is usually a good sign. The food really stood out. The bacon was easily the best part--thick, meaty, perfectly cooked, with a rich smoky flavor that tasted like it came straight from a local farm, not a package. The home fries were another highlight, with chunks of potatoes and long strands of caramelized onions that felt very nostalgic and homemade, like something you'd get from your grandmother's kitchen. The atmosphere is very old-school diner. Lots of booth seating, a counter where you can sit and order like the classic milkshake-and-coffee spots, and an overall cozy, small-town vibe. The service matched that feel too--the waitress was extremely friendly and welcoming. One thing to note: it was very cold inside. It was about 26° outside that morning, but I still had to keep my coat on while eating, which took away from the comfort a bit. There's not a ton immediately around it--just a gas station across the street and a Mexican restaurant next door (which was closed when we went), though there are a few more options a short drive away. Overall, Curly Cone is a hidden gem. It may look like an ice cream stop, but it delivers a full, satisfying diner experience with standout breakfast food and a strong local feel. Just maybe keep your coat handy if you're visiting in the winter.
