The food really stood out. The bacon was easily the best part--thick, meaty, perfectly cooked, with a rich smoky flavor that tasted like it came straight from a local farm, not a package. The home fries were another highlight, with chunks of potatoes and long strands of caramelized onions that felt very nostalgic and homemade, like something you'd get from your grandmother's kitchen. The atmosphere is very old-school diner. Lots of booth seating, a counter where you can sit and order like the classic milkshake-and-coffee spots, and an overall cozy, small-town vibe. The service matched that feel too--the waitress was extremely friendly and welcoming. One thing to note: it was very cold inside. It was about 26° outside that morning, but I still had to keep my coat on while eating, which took away from the comfort a bit. There's not a ton immediately around it--just a gas station across the street and a Mexican restaurant next door (which was closed when we went), though there are a few more options a short drive away.
