Normally I wouldn't even bother writing a review about a fast food place because we all already know that they're not five star restaurants...but WOW this BK is hands down the worst fast food place I've been to. Not worst BK, I mean literally THE WORST FAST FOOD JOINT I HAVE EVER BEEN TO.
Started out with us pulling up to the drive through. Ordered a whopper meal, a couple double cheeseburgers, and a few orders of onion rings. We tried for a shake but the cashier very rudely told us "hum, NO, the machine is down so...no" to which we replied "okay, no worries, thanks anyway though!" We ordered our last item and she yells through the speaker "you want a half WHAT?!" My fiancée said "sorry, I said may I please have one more order of fries?" The entire ordering process was basically us telling her what we wanted and her saying "WHAT?" repetitively in a very abrasive tone. Being in food service management, I always teach my employees that it's inappropriate to say "what?" to a customer. There are plenty of alternatives, like "sorry?" and "excuse me?" that sound much less unprofessional. So we finished ordering after straightening everything out and she says "k pull up to the second window thanks" in this nasty tone like she has absolutely NO desire to interact with customers, which is cool...if you don't wanna talk to people, perhaps you shouldn't work somewhere you have to talk to people all day long! Very simple.
We get our drinks first and there's literally no ice in them at all, so I asked her "is your ice machine down too?" She said "yeah" in that frosty cold tone of hers. There was one car in front of us and the whole ordeal took about 40 minutes. When we got home and looked in the bag, there were a ton of extra onion rings so we initially thought they felt bad about everything being so messed up, until I bit into one and realized they'd been sitting all day and they were just trying to get rid of them. My whopper was cold and my fiancées double cheeseburgers only had one patty each, which is weird for a double cheeseburger. We were charged for doubles, so I have to assume that BK's new policy is to give singles as doubles. World's getting weird, I highly doubt that it was a mistake on the part of the highly competent employees. (This is sarcasm in case you can't tell).
I'm not sure if the management is the same as it was 3 years ago last time I went (yeah, I live here and it's been 3 years) but if it's still the same GM then all of us writing reviews are wasting our time, he deliberately hires the least competent people he can and doesn't enforce any food safety requirements. I've known 4 people who've worked at this specific location and they all have nothing but horror stories about upper and upper-mid management, so maybe...just maybe, I shouldn't be mad at the cashier at all, because she's probably miserable working for that guy. I know when I bartended it was always super stressful when we would run out of ice or a machine we needed was down, especially when the owner had no desire or sense of urgency to fix it. Anyway, I'll leave you with this food safety inspection report for Magic Burger LLC #12368 (Magic Burger is the corporation that owns BK, and the following number is the specific store number for this location).
It's a shame, I live about a block and a half away and could easily walk there on a daily basis, BK is my favorite fast food, but I won't eat at this location ever again. Period.
EDIT: I couldn't get the employees name because she was covering her name tag, but if management cares, I do have a video of a short part of the interaction at the window that I will happily email over if you message me your email address :) read more
