The wait time is usually very long in the drive through or inside. The also usually always forget the bbq sauce. It's very upsetting.

Burgers are cold. Fries are either not salted enough or too salty. Sodas always don't have enough flavor

Uhm, no changing tables? What? My daughter pooped and I had to take her outside to my car and change her in my trunk.

So fortunate to have had the only Bojangles outside of the south for so many years. The biscuits are next level compared to what's served at other chains. First, they are full-sized, crisp-pockety exterior, flaky inside w/ a buttery finish. Maybe the only fast food item in history that you swear is homemade. Chicken has good amount of breading, spicer as you get closer to the bone, but not as spicy as it used to be as regular vs. spicy option got morphed into one. It's flavorful, moist, & brings some heat on certain unexpected bites. The sides: it has always been about the dirty rice- that's their signature. Golden colored rice w/ crumbled sausage, bell peppers, & cajun seasoning. The rest are mere subs for those who don't like rice, tho at times I appreciate the nearly potato wedges they call fries. Sweet tea is steeped in-store, not pre-bottled. I know people who roll up just to buy jugs of that. No longer have Bo in my backyard, which makes it all the more special when I do have opportunity to get it. Love the giant yellow box that announces, It's Bo Time! I show up at home with it, cheers happen!

5 stars for the burgers. Always…read more 3 stars for the fries. To me they are just OK and typically too well done. I also don't prefer fries with the skin still on. What really is a drag is the noisiness of this place. Industrial, metallic, whatever you want to call it, it's friggin' loud in here! Perhaps turning down the music several notches would help. The aluminum chairs (painted to look like wood) screech across the slate floor like nails on a chalkboard. I haven't been here since before covid. Back then I was always happy with the burgers even if I thought they were pricey. Today I got the cheeseburger (which is a double patty), whatever they call the smallest order of fries, and whatever they call a small soda. It was $17.78. Don't get me wrong - I will certainly pay premium prices for a premium product. The problem is that Five Guys may ultimately price themselves right out of existence. Worse, to keep prices down they could start using cheaper ingredients. In any event, this burger, fries, and a drink were $5 more than my meal the other night at Red Lobster. And there I had a real meal with cheesy biscuits, a real baked potato, shrimp, and a side salad. $12.95. Five Guys.. just watch out.. this is Berks County and you know how notoriously cheap people can be around here.

New kid on the block. Well, at least in these parts. Bojangles was a staple of my childhood. Fried…read morechicken nights were few and far between but always welcomed. Occurred maybe twice a year. But it was always Bojangles. KFC was out of the question. Popeye's entered fried chicken row on 5th Street Highway a few years back. When it first opened, the lines were wrapped around the corner. In these parts, that sort of fanfare is usually reserved for the grand opening of a Cabela's or a gun store or something. So I waited for the hype to die down before I finally ventured over there. Actually, I waited a bit longer than that. It wasn't until I started seeing sweet deals on the website that I placed my first order. $19.99 for 14 tenders, two large sides, and five biscuits. You might be thinking, "Well wait a minute, I'm paying more than $1 per tender." You'd be right. But a 12-piece tender usually goes for $28. So yeah, this is a pretty steep discount. I got this particular deal on two occasions. Will you feel fat and disgusting the next day? No. You will feel fat and disgusting that night. But that's neither here nor there. You want good fried chicken, you know the consequences. The chicken itself is SO F'ING GOOD. It comes down to the breading. The seasoning in the breading is lightly salty with mild hints of smoked paprika and a peppery undertone. A peppery undertone? What am I even talking about? That's not a thing. Just eat the damn stuff. To be honest, the batter they use is the key here. The fried crispy breading has better texture than Bojangles and KFC. It's so fluffy. It's almost as if you coated a piece of moist, tender chicken with fried pork belly crisps. Is that what the people eat in the south? Those pork crisps? Just Googled it. Pork Rinds. How many of you at home buzzed in before I revealed the answer? Good on you. Here's why Popeye's doesn't get a perfect score. No one is still reading this, by the way. But if you are, don't order the Cajun Rice. I thought it was going to be similar to the Dirty Rice from Bojangles and pretty much every other respectable joint that sells rice. But no, Popeye's Cajun Rice tastes like pure armpits. It's the worst thing I've ever tasted from a fast food fried chicken joint. Where Popeye's makes of for their shortcomings is their sauces. Now holy cow. This sauce selection puts Chick-Fil-A to shame. And I know they are allies in the great chicken war, but Popeye's stands alone when it comes to sauces. First of all, Popeye's has 10 sauces. Their best are Mardi Gras Mustard, Blackened Ranch, Wild Honey Mustard, Bayou Buffalo, and of course their signature Voodoo Sauce. Those family meals come with 3-4 tiny ramekins of sauce. Any additional sauces cost like $0.75 each. My advice is to always have a bottle of ranch or buffalo on hand so you have ample dipping sauce at your disposal. Now, does Popeye's have the best fast food spicy chicken sandwich on the market? Still debatable. The Wendy's offering is still formidable. But if you want straight up fried chicken or chicken tenders, Popeye's is unrivaled.
