The atmosphere is casual but very comfortable and fun, loved all the open windows and natural light. The food is slightly pricey for not coming with fries or any sides, but the flavors were great and we enjoyed both the smash burger and chicken sandwich! Even before we were seated, I noticed a server wearing a green bandanna speaking to another employee, who we later learned was the manager on duty, in a way that seemed unprofessional and unfriendly. After we were seated, my wife asked if we could move because she was cold. We then waited about 15 minutes before anyone came to our table. When our server finally arrived, she acted like she didn't want to be there. My wife asked for a recommendation, but the response was vague and unhelpful. Our drink order was wrong. My wife and I ordered waters, and our son ordered a Sprite, but we received two lemonades and one water instead. After taking our order, our server disappeared. She never brought our food, checked on us, asked if we needed refills, or stopped by the table again. The manager walked past our table several times but never seemed interested in checking on our experience. The biggest issue was my son's meal. He ordered chicken sliders with the sauce on the side, but they arrived covered in sauce. Another employee took the meal back to be remade, but it came back wrong a second time. By then, my wife and I had already finished eating, and our son had been waiting nearly an hour without a proper meal. When I spoke with the manager, I asked that my son's meal be removed from the bill. Instead of taking responsibility and apologizing, the manager offered excuses rather than solutions. Mistakes can happen, but it's how they're handled that matters. Unfortunately, the customer service from both our server and the manager was disappointing. We left frustrated, and based on this experience, we will not be returning to this location.

Service was fast and reception staff were friendly and efficient. Convenient parking in lot next door or on the street frontage. Casual restaurant in Downtown [New Albany IN]…read more Dined at this restaurant by recommendation. Less than a mile from our hotel we came midday in between lunch and dinner so the place was pretty much empty with just a few other patrons. We could sit wherever so we chose a booth at the corner. This was an Americana style restaurant with classic steak, pork, chicken, and vegetarian dishes at reasonable prices. We placed our order for... BLACKENED SALMON - tender and seared. For an additional $1 I asked for bourbon glaze to be spread on my salmon. It was served on a bed of wild rice. The bourbon glaze was definitely a game-changer... the combination of sweet, smoky, and tangy flavors created a yummy flavor. CAJUN PORK CHOPS: not one but two thick cut pork chops brined & seared. Topped with Cajun butter. Husband shared a few bites with me and it had me craving for more. I just helped him finish his pork chops a little bit ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Service was friendly but it can sometimes lack attention. There is ample free parking available in the public lots behind and adjacent to the restaurant. Instagram: @boomtown_kitchen Review #3877

We were in last week for dinner, for a dual Birthday celebration and had a larger group of about 20 people. We sat in the front room, and it was rather warm in there, but it was an unusually hot day for mid-September. There was only one other couple there when me and my husband arrived and it took a while for the server to come over and ask if we wanted drinks. By the time he did, several other people had arrived, and they all got their drinks before we did. It even took forever to get our drinks; we could see them dying at the bar waiting to be ran. I'll be honest, the service wasn't the best, it was obvious the server might have been newer in the sense of experience with a large party. He was very friendly and had a great demeanor but was extremely forgetful, which he mentioned several times. Once everyone was settled, we started with Appetizers. The Goat Cheese Fritters, with Bacon Date Aioli, Honey and Parsley are always my go to. They are small little goat cheese balls deep fried to perfection and delicious every time. For dinner we shared the Bone-In Pork Schnitzel that has a Tonkatsu Glaze, Sauerkraut, charred lemon and Japanese potato salad, and a side of mac n cheese. The Pork was extremely dry and flavorless and there was no glaze on it. The mac n cheese was just okay. One of my friends got the Braised Short Rib Adobo (brown beech & crimini mushrooms, creamy risotto) and let me have a taste. Let's just say I was extremely jealous I chose the wrong entrée for dinner, it was so good!

The menu (see pic) is one sample of how they have themed the place. The items themselves have a touch of humor, with a Tuscan Chicken Penne Pasta call Pasta La Vista and a sandwich called a Motley Creuben. Love the sandwich sign coming in, which had a pie chart of whether you should come in and have a beer, with choice being "yes" and "yes in blue" (pictured) and the other side distinguishing between fun and real life. In some ways, this is more of a taproom than a brewery, as they have their own beers, but also carry many from otehr breweries and cideries around the state. I grabbed the California Dreamin' and she got the Cod Smacked, albeit on a bun and not on Rye. I am not a huge fan of fried fish, so I was not uber thrilled about her sandwich, although I did find the fish well cooked and the haus bier batter was nice. My club was right on point. I am also not one with heavily seasoned fries, but I will say the seasoning here is not offensive (and thank god no potato flakes, which seems to be very popular these days. The beer is in the average/above average tier when compared to craft breweries. This means far better than Bud (with apologies to those who can stomach Bud on a regular basis - I am not worthy). ds
