We visited them after reading the reviews and they weren't bad, we get there and order drinks. There is tissue in the glass for bottled water like it's been polished with toilet roll. The coke did not taste like authentic genuine coke. we order the food- I ordered a 'sizzling skillet steak' that come like salt water soup with chunks of cheap steak in - no sizzling. Partner ordered crispy chilli chicken that had a consistency like squid- cheap rubbery chicken. He also ordered pork dumplings which he said were like a slimey Greggs sausage roll. I tried forcing the food down me as it was expensive for what it was but it was vulgar. Not once did a member of staff ask was everything okay, and when we were paying I said it was disgusting and we got ignored. I have emailed with no reply, also left a trip advisor review to which their reply was defensive and not addressing how truly poor the restaurant and the food is. The restaurant itself looks old, there is rubbish in the front of things used to try block entry ways so you can't see how neglected it truly is. Will be telling everyone just how awful this place is and I hope our £70 food bill can contribute not to the owners pocket but being put back into the restaurant to make it cleaner. This place has a food hygiene rating of 1. Need I say more

The delivery is fast and efficient and is only £1.50 for orders over ten pounds which cannot really be grumbled at. You can order over the phone where the staff are very pleasant or even go for the ultimate lazy option and avoid human contact all together by ordering on Just eat. Either way you can rest assured that you are going to be provided with a great quality meal straight to your front door. This is the kind of place which is the perfect accompaniment to a Saturday night infront of the television where you want to sit down relax and get a good munch on. I'd particularly suggest a King Prawn tandoori for less than seven quid but whatever you fancy if you like Indian then you will appreciate the good quality food which is served up by Saffron. I have found in the past that takeaway Indians dont measure up to actually going out to eat for a curry but once again Saffron breaks the mold and is every bit as special as getting your gladrags on and going out to eat.

It was beautiful. I've not had curry in ages and it was exactly what I needed. Fast service, friendly staff, cheap and above all, perfectly spiced with tender pieces of chicken in plenty of sauce... my only gripe is that I wanted more when I'd finished! They do meal deal of the week too, so make sure you ask! You get the curry of the week with pilau rice and naan for £4.95. You can't beat that price when it's such good quality. Perfect for loafing infront of the telly with a good film. (+£1.50 to deliver). You won't be disappointed with Saffron. My hat is tipped to you sirs!

Most of the food here is cooked in atraditional clay oven style which means that it's not quite as fast as your usual fast food outlet but if you get the chops by God you'll be glad you waited. Chops? In a takeaway? Yup, regular chops, cooked so the meat just falls of the bone and with a slightly spicy sauce - can't beat it.

I'm not entirely sure what is so different about clay oven kebabs but one thing is for certain you can taste the high quality. I have ventured into this place on many a drunken night and have always found it to be excellent value and excellent taste on the whole. This place is different to your standard takeaway and even serves roast chicken and the best word to describe that particular taste is succulent, I cannot describe what a treat it was to get roast chicken as opposed to your standard takeaway fare. This place is really refreshing and does the job whatever your needs, with excellent staff and great value The Nile is one of the best places to visit in Smithdown.

First thing to note is that this is not a place to go on a first date. There simply is no way to…read moregracefully eat their burgers or wings without slathering face, fingers and possibly eyebrows in the vast amounts of sauce dripping from everything they make. It's probably why you're given a roll of kitchen of roll instead of napkins when you sit down. When we first arrived it was queued out the door, ok it's a small entrance way but that still meant there was at least a dozen people ahead of us. Thankfully we were quickly ushered inside and while we still had a 15 minute wait for a table for 4, and we could spend that time at the bar. The bar has a decent selection of the usual favourites. It's a bit short on good beer/ale but does have Brooklyn larger on draught. They also have their very own larger, which to be honest was unimpressive. It tasted very weak with no strong flavours and a distinct lack of hops. I would describe it like sex in a canoe, f**king close to water. If you're a Bud or Coors lite drinker you'll likely enjoy it. But you don't come here for the booze. The burger menu was impressive, the smallest they do is a double and every burger comes with a long list of toppings. Some crowd pleasures feature, candied bacon, pepper jack cheese, BBQ onions, but there are also some weird and wonderful additions such as crunchy pretzels, frazzles (yes the crisps!) and even beerios, which are some sort of beer infused cheerios, they only appear on their breakfast burger. I had the river phoenix, a double cheese burger with bacon, BBQ onions, chipotle sauce, baconaise and the aforementioned frazzles. The burger was delicious, the meat was good quality and well cooked, although it did get lost under the vast amount of different toppings. As sides we had their chilli cheese fries and suicide wings. The fries were excellent, a mixture of regular and sweet potato fries. They were cut to just the right thickness and had a nice crunch while still being fluffy on the inside. There wasn't quite as much chilli as I'd have liked but other than that the fries were perfect. However I was disappointed in the suicide wings. I'm a big hot sauce fan and they were pretty mild. I would have liked for them to have been a lot hotter. I was expecting ghost pepper heat and only got Jalapeño. It's not full waiter service as you do have to order and pay at the bar. But the staff were pleasant and the queues were short so I didn't mind. Our four burgers (3 doubles and a triple), two portions of fries and a portion of wings came to a very reasonable £40.

That's until I came across Almost Famous in Liverpool. The Triple Treat is a 3 cheeseburger beast topped with bacon AND pulled pork! No table service - this a DIY venue but worth the trip!
