We used to go in and get Fish, Chips, Peas and Curry special which used to cost about £4.99 with a drink. It's your standard good quality fish and chip shop that most towns/villages in UK have, but it's great quality food and they have a large seating area inside, which is unusual for a chippy. Marigolds is also in a prime location, bang in the centre of West Kirby, five minutes' walk from the train station and five minutes walk from the beach and the marine lake. This means if it's a nice day then you can take your fish and chips down to the beach or a bench along the front and enjoy them there! If you're visiting Liverpool from abroad, West Kirby is 30 minutes away by train and is a beautiful place!

That the gaps between my visits have been large is a fault on my part, but what is truly impressive is that even when I may not have been for a few years, the next visit will be just as good as the last time I visited (no matter how long it has been between visits). The menu consistently serves up delights and on my last visit I decided to opt for the linguini, which was served with fried ham, chorizo and pancetta and was deliciously creamy whilst my girlfriend went for the cannelloni, which also got two thumbs up. From previous visits, I would also recommend the various pizzas there as they have a wide selection of toppings on offer to cover practically anyone's taste. The service here is always prompt, polite and friendly and this, combined with the great food, ensures that any dining experience at Don Luigi's is one to savour.

Though the floor space has expanded (with some extra seating, a bar and a grand piano upstairs) the quality of food has remained as fantastic with soft, generously topped pizzas, delicious pastas and the signature sticky ribs (it's the recipe here that my mum has spent much of her adult life attempting to replicate - the secret is the fennel) The wine list too is impressive, although admittedly I only ever really plump for the Barbera Neirano, a red with a nice heft (can you tell I'm not a connoisseur?) priced at under £17 a bottle. The service is friendly, attentive and the management will frequently do the rounds of the restaurant floor to ensure everything is going swimmingly (if you've seen the Sopranos, think 'Vesuvio' but with less of an undercurrent of latent mob violence). However after recently attending a training session at Ysbyty Glan Clwyd and needing a quick lunch I found myself following the signpost for 'Village Centre' in search of cheap food. I spotted the Castle View Chippy nestled between two convenience stores and figured I'd give it a try. At first glance it looks a little unloved. The interior is a bit dated looking and there was little cooked food on display on the counter. However it was busy which is always a good sign, particularly as Bodelwydden isn't the most bustling of places. It turns out that most food, fish, pies etc are cooked to order which explained why there was so little on display. I didn't have a great deal of time to spare so I opted to just go with chips and curry sauce. I ordered a small portion of chips which turned out to be quite a generous portion, enough that I was glad I hadn't ordered a large portion. The chips weren't by any means the best I've ever had but were edible. The curry sauce was typical chip shop curry and perfectly acceptable. All in all my view of Castle View Chippy is that it offers decent enough food but no real surprises.

This place has a good range of sandwiches and your only problem here is likely to be deciding what it is you would like to purchase. The sandwhiches are always fresh and made to a great quality, meaning that they do the job as a breakfast treat or even a lunch time snack. Which ever way you look at it you will not be let down. The staff serve with a smile here and it is their hard work which keeps the quality of food here at a consistently high level. The shop itself is a pleasant place to visit and is clearly clean and well kept and this inspires a great deal of confidence in the customer as they prepare to make their purchase.

Staff are friendly and cheerfull, they sell a really nice homemade soup and varying things such as Chill con carne, Scouse, Curry, Pasta, Jacket Potato etc. even Chips and full english breakfasts are available. All very resonably priced. I fully recommend the Ham Salad on a brown Bin Lid barm. much better than a factory made sandwich from nearby tesco.

Nando's on Blackpool Road in Preston is located as part of the Deepdale Shopping Park, a short…read moredistance away from the city centre, right by the football stadium that Preston North Ends calls home. It's pretty much your typical Nando's, with this location serving halal chicken. As with any Nando's in general, you can order via the Nando's app / QR code at your table, or if you prefer the personal touch there is always the option of ordering at the counter. If like me, you have an allergy, you will need to order at the counter with a manager to ensure the request is sanctioned correctly. I did find the food expensive for what it is, as of March 2024, my meal came to £15, which I find to be a little expensive for fast casual, and that doesn't include extras such as drinks and Perinaise. The prices also seem to be rising out of control too, even in the current climate they seem to be putting their prices up every couple of months, much more frequently than rivals. They also don't offer regular mayonnaise despite being a chicken restaurant, so you'll have to choose between their vegan alternative or pay extra for their Peri-naise (mayonnaise mixed with peri-peri sauce). My meal as a whole came to £16 with tap water, they would only allow me to have a small glass of the water too, so I annoyingly had to keep going back to the water fountain for more during my meal. This particular location is reasonably good, I was able to get a table and was served quite quickly despite visiting on a busy Saturday. The staff seemed friendly enough although service seemed more fast-paced as they had to deal with the crowds. There were a lot of tables in the restaurant, some seemed a little close together and difficult to pass through, but they did a good job getting food out considering this. My food was OK, although I've certainly had better at other Nando's locations. The chips were piping hot, but the rest of my meal was warm. The portion size of the chicken and the fries was good, although they seemed to be ungenerous with the peri-salt on the chips, and I had to request extra. I also noticed the portion of spicy rice was less than normal, and felt flattened down to look like there was more than there was. 3* - Many positives for sure, but also many areas for improvement.

The UK menu is deff more extensive than the US menu so to try something different, I went with the sunset burger with creamy mash and garlic bread as my two sides The sunset burger was so delicious! I was skeptical about the red pepper relish but it was delicious with the hot sauce I chose for my chicken. The creamy mash (which I had very high expectations for) wasn't that great :( I prefer the the US version of is. Everything else that the rest of my party got was great. The servers were very sweet and the location is big enough to accommodate big parties.
